So many violations of that man's Constitutional Rights in that third one like the right to a speedy trial and the right against cruel and unusual punishment. And I doubt, other than the lawsuit, anyone was held accountable.

They didn't have a nurse at the radio station. A nursed called in to the radio station.
And, they made a joke out of her warning... They going to hell for sure.
The fact that Steven was treated worse than most murderers who are allowed to roam almost freely in prison infuriates me.
That last story pissed me off and only shows much of a damn joke this justice system really is. They let that man rot like an abandoned animal over a DWI!!!! Are you serious???!!!

@@xelectrix It is. With a DWI you are out the next day most of the time. Otherwise if they were worried for his safety he should have been taken to a hospital.
I got no sympathy for him. My sister was killed by someone like that and they let him out in 5 years. The system IS a joke.
@@somethingtrulyhorrifying it is a joke and I’m so sorry to hear that. I personally sympathize with the guy because he didn’t kill anyone and was forced to live with no type of interaction and no medical treatment. I don’t blame you for not having sympathy though

My grandma would tell me stop drinking so much water because you can drown your heart and I’m like that don’t even sound right but turns out you can overdose on water.
Solitary confinement in general qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment because if you are in there long enough, at best, you'll go blind. There are multiple cases of people having mental breakdowns in solitary confinement.
I can't believe they did that yo that man I can only imagine how many other people are forgotten but don't get justice 😪 how do you stop someone from hurting themselves just to hurt them yourself for years and when they get free their life is practically over 💔
I remember when that lady died doing that contest. The local news station talked about for weeks.

Anyway, John just did a new 1 called "The Most Feared Girl in Mexico". This 1 goes down a pretty dark rabbit hole, but it's a very good story. Maybe you might think about it for next time. Some old prisons that are now historical sites for the general public to visit actually have scratches on the walls in the solitary confinement cells.

My problem with the third one was where was his family and where did that lawyer disappear to? He clearly got lost in the system but it was a drunk driving violation (unless there is part of the story we are not aware of) so even a mediocre lawyer should have been able to scream loud enough to demand his release after a few months, let alone two years.
One story I know about that is an example of the problem with solitary confinement is the Reykjavik Confessions. Five people confessed to two murders that may not have even happened. Buzzfeed Unsolved covered that case.
The radio station story reminds me of something I did when I was younger. I jokingly googled "Can oxygen kill you?" and imagine my surprise when I saw that yes, pure oxygen can kill you. The "oxygen" that hospitals can pump through a mask or nose canula from the wall aren't pure oxygen.

about the nurse not staying on the event, i think they cannot stay there just to watch if something is going to happen. most of these health staff are needed back to the hospital unless they really scheduled to assist a certain event. the radio station should've just stopped when the nurse told them it was dangerous
The radio station should have at the very least decided to give them Gatorade or some other drink high in electrolytes.
Solitary confinement is considered a form of torture but we still use it at 15 day intervals anything more is supposed to be a violation of human rights....but yk😂
But ultimately, it wasn't the radio stations fault. It's not like they held a gun to her head and forced her to drink that much water that fast. She chose to do it. So, in all reality, it was her fault.

Have you guys watched the story that he does about his own paranormal encounter that led him to be so interested in these crazy stories? I can't remember the name of the video but the picture is of a kid in bed and a shadow figure with long claws hiding by the wall.
IIRC, it's the first video on his channel, if not it's among the first 2 or 3.

Waiver or no waiver, that radio station should still be liable to lawsuits since they were the ones that created the competition and were aware of the potential effects, while the competitors may not have been. Even if they managed to avoid lawsuits, it would still be an insanely stupid thing to do because word travels fast and they would lose a lot of listeners.
They let things get to the point that she was retaining fluid?! That distention is super concerning. If you are bloating that much from drinking, even if you pee, you have likely already dealt some damage to your kidneys.

At 13:25 you’re right, Humans have always been tribal, so it’s not surprising that people now are experiencing more mental illnesses than ever before now. We’ve quickly jumped into solitude by day of technology and society telling us we need to be alone. The pandemic has only made things worse.
Think about it, the industrial Revolution and on is still a very short time compared to how long our species has been around.
Honestly, if I were the other contestant and I saw what was happening to Jennifer, I'd forfeit just because I would not be able to forgive myself if I won at the expense of the life of someone else. They knew about the danger of it and their recklessness ended a life. That can be prosecuted. The nurse that called in was probably a mess for at least the rest of the day, knowing what will inevitably happen. Medically, there IS such thing as too much of a good thing.
