I think it’s a good sign NRK asked them to redo the lyrics. They feel it’s a real contender to win MGP and even maybe Eurovision and don’t want any controversies. And the band doesn’t seem to be too worried about the lyric changes. I’ll be cheering on Gåte this Saturday!

Call me crazy or whatever but this song with this type of performance in a bigger and better setup in Malmo it can legitimately win the whole contest if everything goes perfect. It won't be easy and maybe i'm stretching a little but it has some parts especially in the last minute that are giving BIG WINNER VIBES!
It is very overrated. I know what they are going for but it doesnt really work. Not very relateable

Gate is the only way Norway! As much as I think Keiino is tailored for this contest (the catchy pop side of it at least), this has SO much raw power! And the language! Wow - what a beautiful way to represent your culture! I haven't been this enchanted by a song since Go_A's Shum

I have a lot of love for Berger and Keiino, but this year my two favorites are Gate and Gothminister. Quite different, and hard to say who I would prefer going to Eurovision. I find Gate technically superior, but Gothminister is immediately catchy, and also has a very clear story in their performance.
If they don't win this year, we should have Gåteminister next year, that would be fun.

I'm really worried for them having to change the lyrics at this point of the competition, with less than one week for the finals :( Why do you think that is? Why didn't the broadcaster give them a heads up before?
Because this happened to Go_A as well, but they had time to adapt.
Me too…:( It’s because the lyeic is based on a 1000 year old chant and the rules say it must be originally written. But I think that should be sorted out before this point in the competition. It’s very unfortunate

IMO from what I've seen it's between GÅTE and Jerry Heil & alyona alyona if both acts go forward. Both will get lots of points from Jury and Televote.

I hope it will make it to the ESC-final. That would be the first time ever a band I really love participates in this event. BTW, in case you really shouldn't know the name of the instrument shown at the beginning, it's called nøkkelharpe in Norwegian and keyed fiddle in English and it's a traditional Swedish instrument. That instrument is Nøkkelharpe, -Key Harp. Old traditional Norwegian folk instrument.
