Sadly I think some countries wont appreciate the traditional elements and judge her traditional singing technique to be “screechy” Did it get any points whatsoever from the UK jury for example? Personally, I love it

Norway sending a song in Norwegian (and Nynorsk dialect in particular) for the first time since "Alvedansen" in 2006 (in Athens, btw).
Norway sending a rock/metal song to Eurovision for the first time since "In My Dreams" in 2005.
What a wacky, wonderful world.
Nynorsk is not a dialect, just a written language based on old district dialects (some of them but not all). But these vocals are absolutely in a traditional and older dialect. Really nice.

When i heard Gåte was entering i knew they would win they are super popular here in Norway with mixing Norwegian traditional folk and rock not hardrock or metall.
They sing only in Norwegian with dialects and some old Norwegian and Gunhild is singing in what we call Lokk/calling an ancient form of herd calling

Gåte = Riddle, Ulveham = Wolf skinwalker. It’s a 1000 year old tale. The song is about a girl who was cursed by her stepmother to live in the forest as a wolf. One day she sees her stepmother in the woods and eats her, and she was pregnant, so as she drinks her brother’s blood, the curse is lifted. «Never would I be whole and well, until I got to drink my by brother’s blood».
I find the lyrics very demonic. I'm Norwegian.

She turned me into a sword and a needle
And sent me to the king's estate
And the anger my stepmother felt the most

The song ends there, but in the original story she meets her stepmother again as a wolf and kills her for revenge. The stepmother is then pregnant with her half-brother, so by killing her, she kills her brother too and accidentally lifts the curse. It's somewhat of a dark and twisted Cinderella story 😅

MGP has audiotune remember, we have never heard an unedited sound yet
I don't think they used autotune, it doesent sound like that, and it would surprise me if they did, because the song is all about authentisity and rock- rawness. It's up to every contestant to use autotune in the Norwegian final (sadly) , like Margaret Berger admitted she did, and I could also hear autotune on Erica's voice. But not on Gunnhild, I might be wrong, anyway I think Gunnhild will do it perfectly in the finals (without autotune)
Gunnhild in Gåte has been singing in this group since 1999 (when she was only 14!!), she's got great vocals and will do fine without autotune.
Gåte, KEiiNO and Margaret did not use Autotune.

The show is nice, but the melody is bad, no melody just the shouts of the singer. This is a pop, commercial festival, not a opera festival.
Eurovision is for all genres. It's not a "pop festival"
