Jeep Gladiator Truck WAYALIFE Build by EVO Manufacturing DTD King Coilovers and Dana UD60 Axles

- Day 2 of our Gladiator build started off like yet another Christmas morning only this time, the present we got to open was a wooden crate containing our brand new Dana Ultimate UD60 front axle. Of course, our UD60 rear axle had come in the day before and so new EVO brackets had already been burned in and it was all ready to get installed. Being that there was a change in plans for the front, most of the UD60 front bracket would need to be trimmed off before we could do anything with it. And speaking of those changes, pretty much everything would need to be hacked off the frame as well and so that we could have EVO DTD or Double Throw Down towers burned in.
Now, Day 3 would take us out to King Shocks to have some custom work done to the bypass shocks that would be installing and while we were there, we got to check out how the world's most badass shocks are made. Once we got back to Off Road Evolution, our front UD60 was ready to be installed with our new Synergy tie-rod and drag link. In a nutshell, a ton of work was done to take our Gladiator to the next level and we hope you enjoy seeing the magic as it happens.

They are pricey and not something everyone needs but as far as crate axles go, they are one of the most affordable ones you can get :)

LOL - oh yeah, there's no way we would ever take this thing off road let alone, a couple of days after finishing the build and in a place like New England where the rocks are slimy and trees tightly planted together. I mean, we might bash in the back of our bed or something.

Actually, we're heading out to the JL/JT Experience in just a couple of days. Gotta drive this thing clear across the country to spend a week of wheeling. Of course, we will then be driving it all the way back home again LOL

Have to give a big shoutout to Mel's team for their skills and execution... There is no one on that team that doesn't rock it...

Mel's engineer is a guy named Andrew and he is talented for sure. Mel is awesome that he's great at problem solving and there was quite a bit of that needed being that this was the first JT to be built with DTD's.

Thanks for the ride towards this transformation! That said, I miss the days of the progression from budget boost and winch plate front bumpers to coil-overs and diff upgrades.. I have very much enjoyed following Wayalife on the JL build and was looking forward to a similar build for the truck. I think many of us more relate to the choices of what to do first and the progression of the build as constrained by budget. I guess that is the challenge, continue to relate to the core viewers as popularity of the channel drives "sponsorship" Still, I would have never know how EVO stands above the others without it. Thanks again!
We are sorry to disappoint you with our build. So much of the JT is so similar to the JL that we felt it would be a waste to redo what we had already done. This is why we essentially picked up where we left off on our JL and went straight to 40's. I should also note that this build was a personal dream build of ours, one that was made possible with the help of Mel and Lisa Wade who are close and personal friends of ours and not necessarily a "sponsored" build. While we did get a lot of help, there was plenty we still had to buy to make this possible. We are NOT trying to sell anything or promote anything - we're simply showing what we purposefully chose to run on our own JT.

From what I am hearing the 3.6l days are numbered anyways. Supposedly a new 3.0 I-6 Turbo is slated to replace the 3.6l. I think we will see it when the new Grand Cherokee makes it debut.

I am a Raptor Owner, but i never miss and episode of your channel. They build series videos and the long excursion videos are my favorite, I think they are the best on the Tube. Side note i love watching Welding and dropping those pennies lol. P.S. Raptor will be paid off this year probably time for and old CJ 5 project jeep here in AZ.

You and me both. If they hold up, they'd be a great option I could recommend especially being that you don't have to wait 2-4 months to get them AND you could save a LOT of money too.

Let's just say I know of 1 Jeep Gladiator guaranteed to survive the end of Earth apocalypse. I talked to RCV today. They make a one piece and the two piece axle that will let you retain the axle disconnect if you like. Life time warranty and you can grease the cv joint through the end of the stub. They say its as strong as a stock Dana 60....I may have to give them a try
LOL - good luck with them and trying to get them to honor that awesome warranty of theirs. Greasing will NOT stop the loud snapping and popping sound they'll make after hard use. Also, their shafts are strong, I know being that I run them now and have run them in the past but them talking about Dana 60's is just stupid. Your weak point will be the ring and pinion.

You should’ve bought a Sport Gladiator if you are taking everything off. Just my opinion but awesome build. 👍🏻
Yeah, that would have been the way to go but we were trying to get one of the very first Gladiators made. We had originally ordered a Launch Edition thinking that would ensure us getting one fast but after waiting over 3 months for one, we decided to buy what we could get. Going with a Sport is the way to go if you're going to do something like this. I will say however that we do enjoy having an e-disco, 4:1 transfer case, large screen nav and nicer interior though.

I noticed that the builds were spread out. You just got the Gladiator and you are going all out fast. I know Moby and Rubicat were built, just not this fast.
Those big brakes are the deal when it comes to stopping a heavy jeep with 40's.
They're a nice improvement for sure and nice that they come standard.
