That's a cool little help, looks like it flies pretty easy. I just got my first quad copter today, its not a nano but it's a lot of fun to fly. Good video!

I bought 2 of these after watching your review. One for me and another for my 6 year old daughter. They fly very well and easy to control. It drops height when I take the heli back or forward for some reason. But other than that it's good to practice on I think for a beginner like me.
Yeah, that height change is normal, since you are adjusting the angle of the main rotors, thus creating less lift. You will get used to that with time and learn to adjust the throttle during certain movements in order to maintain your elevation. :) Happy flying!

just ordered the last one amazon had the girlfriend wants to give it a try do you think this would be ok for that btw your reviews got me started with flying rc helicopters I started off with a sky rover stalker and of course the syma s107g but within 2 months I now have a hero h911 a v911 pro and 2 wl toys v912 helicopters 1 brushed and the other brushless thanks and keep the reviews comming!!!

cool review. Thanks much. Question: do the rotor blades break easily? I might be a lousy first time flier and i might crash it often initially....
It's hard to measure "easily". They are definitely not indestructible, but they should survive most crashes. You never really know though... sometimes what seems like a rather mild crash has caused more damage than I would've expected, in various RCs I have tested and reviewed. Try to make sure to let off the throttle right *before* a crash, so at least you aren't sending power to the blades when they hit something. :)

RCmaster Seth No, the plug goes into the side of the heli, so it wouldn't fit inside the box while the plug is plugged in.
I bought this copter from banggood today, what I wonder is, is it possible to charge the copter with a USB cable? I have many other cable that fits the plug

Try adjusting the trim in the opposite direction as it spins. If that doesn't fix it, it is probably broken/defective in some way.

jasper bastiaan Well, that's a hard choice, because the Nano Falcon is smaller and a bit "cooler", but the QS-5010 stores in the transmitter, which is pretty convenient. I guess I'd have to go for the Nano Falcon, just because it's the world's smallest, and that's pretty cool. :)

Ryan, this is the one that I have BUT it is a 2 chanel that I can't even get it to hover. :)
Yeah, a lot of people have mistakenly bought the 2CH version, since they put that fake tail prop on it. :( I think that's pretty misleading on the manufacturer's part. I am not sure what it won't hover though. If you hold it in your hand and give full throttle, then let go, does it fall? Does it spin a lot while trying to take off? You may be able to fix it with trim, or otherwise it may just be defective. :(

The light is there to indicate when it is charging, versus when it is done charging.

Ryan, what's your favorite nano helicopter? I personally flew the Nano Falcon and Syma s6, I prefer the Falcon for its stability and engine sound. LOL.
kk lim I think the S6 flies a bit better, but I prefer the size and look of the Nano Falcon.

Ashish Amatya The Blade mSR X, or WLtoys V911, etc, are probably the smallest 4ch 2.4ghz helis you can find.

You know, if it wasn't you for, Ryan.. I wouldn't have my awesome little Hubsan X4!!. I fking love it. It's so unbelievably fast and agile.. but can be tamed just to hover there. Unfortunately, something with the gyro is off so I have to trim forward and right on takeoff, land halfway through then trim backwards and left (by about 10 clicks) in order to hover. This quad is NOT capable off hands-off. It just want's to move supersonic :D
Jordan O'C Yeah, micro quads can hold a hands-off hover for very long. But that's odd that the trim changes like that… maybe you have a motor starting to go out, and it acts different on full battery versus drained battery? Are you props good? Bent and nicked props can also cause instability.
It sounds like you might have a motor that's not quite up to snuff.
Flyin' Ryan RC One of the motors can't be gone already.. It's only 2 day's old!! Plus, I've just ordered 5 extra friggen batteries for it >:(
Either way, it'll have to do. it works for now, it executes flips properly, and can still fly *VERY* fast in all directions without a problem.
If one of the motors was a bit dodgy, it wouldn't hover at all. Anyway, it's easy to correct on expert mode but on normal mode, it requires 75% stick authority just to hover (without trim) :(

The gyro is able to compensate(up to a point) for motors that don't run at the same speed when supplied with the same amount of power. No two motors are exactly the same.

Are you sure that's an LED on the helicopter itself or an IR receiver?
Sid B Yeah, it's an LED. The IR receiver is black and on the bottom/back of the heli. You can see it around 1:19 in the video.

It would be okay for a beginner, sure. :) I would maybe suggest something a bit bigger, with metal parts though, like the Syma S107G.

Looks like a pretty nice little quad.. and for only $12 that's a steal. I'd much rather have spent $12 on this than the sub-par lunch I had last Friday.
hallis1 I don't generally focus on *not* crashing… and in some cases I actually prefer to crash, because I want to show off what people can expect out of the model. And, as they say, if you aren't crashing, you aren't flying! :)~

I bought a red one today how easily do they break
There is no real way to answer that question. It is light, so it should be able to survive a crash, but then you never really know, and a seemingly light crash could hit in just the right way to break a part. Long story short, no RC is invincible, so try not to crash.

Those are trims buttons. If the helicopter rotates to the left on its own, press the R trim button until it stays straight.

Only you can decide if it's good enough for your uses, based on what I've shown in my review. I think it's fine for the price, if this is the sort of model you want. :)

John Harrington One of them does, but the other one I've had since she was a kitten, so she is used to me flying around her and doesn't even bat an eye at it. heh
your lucky my cat tries to kill my indoor heli anyway, ive found a way to easily make the walmart exploiter heli fly forward and faster all you do is tape a 50 cent piece under the nose (wide squarish part) and take the 2 rear skid pads and place them on the front skids in front of the 2 forward facing pads it can now fly faster and flies perfectly straight

Yep, if they use infrared control, you can't use them in direct sunlight.
