    This is my review of the Cheerson CX-10, which is the new World's Smallest Quadcopter, beating the Estes Proto X / Hubsan Q4 by just a tad! It flies great, flips great, and is just an all-around great little nano quad… I highly recommend this one, and the price is great!
    Enjoy!

    These little drones are awesome, I bought one myself and it arrived yesterday. We already have a mini drone but I was surprised at how much quicker and more durable this one is. It got hit by our ceiling fan, and went flying across the room and smashed into the wall. I was worried because I thought it would be dead but no! Apart from a little dent in the top of it's body it still works perfectly fine!

    Awesome to see you're still at it flyin Ryan ! I got my first flying rc, a proto X about 5 months ago, stumbled upon your flying vids, learned about the hubsan x4 controller and have been flying ever since!!
    I now actually work part time at a HobbyTown USA near Seattle, fly a Parkzone Visionaire and an MCPX BL and can knock out some very respectable 3d moves on both!! Hovers to rolling Harrier and tik tocs to (honestly sloppy) piro flips! I am also diving into fpv, I practice on my x4 and spyhawk and saving for long rang set up on a blackout, discovery or maybe a simple 350qx!
    I want to say thanks man, I've come full circle and started flipping my proto x into the dog bowl and thought I'd check out ur vids again!
    Keep up the awesome work!

      do not use it right away after charging ive been told. the guys at the rc store told me not to, they say let it cool down for like 20mins before using it again. or you will loose battery life... anyone else heard of this?

    • @mkiemkie
      @mkiemkie Před 9 lety

      explosiverounds have to admit that i don't wait after charging. it's just too tempting to fly again right away.
      but it's true: these tiny LiPo batteries have to take a lot - during flight as well as during charging.
      my advice: don't fly until the copter is completely "dead" but stop (and recharge) as soon as it doesn't want to climb anymore. then recharge completely and disconnect when done. store only in charged condition.

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  Před 9 lety

      explosiverounds Michael Kiesel Proper LiPo maintenance is to let the battery cool for 10-15min after a flight, and maybe 5min after charging (the battery doesn't get that hot from charging). And, yes, stop flying when LVC warning kicks in (or you notice a significant loss in power). And you should leave the battery at 3.85V (about half-full) when stored for any long period of time. If you store it fully charged, or drained, the battery can become damaged and lose power.

    I got one of these to mess around with the pets. The dog has grabbed it out of the air a number of times, broken through the shell on both top and bottom. Almost pierced the battery pack. And it's taken a lot of hits and falls.
    Because of one fall the latch for the case over one motor has broken off halfway, so the case sits a bit higher on that arm because of it. Twisted the propellers a lot, mainly from the dog's bite.
    All that damage and this cheap little thing still flies perfectly.
    I now taped up the 4 bases under each motor with a soft sticky pad under it and wrapped it up using cellophane tape for less weight and a bit of electrical tape to hold it tight around each motor case. This allows for softer landings but does take a little off the flight time.
    In all it's a great cheap way to learn. And definitely worth the $25.
    If this had been one of the $40 models it would have broke several times by now.
    The full shell makes all the difference. Even if it is cheap plastic.

    Hey Ryan I've just found out that if you have an OTG cable the power draw is low enough that you can charge it with your phone and it takes the same amount of time as if from the wall. This makes this quad truly portable as you only need your quad the charger and an OTG cable and not have to carry around a power bank if your far away from an outlet.

    • @karenelizabeth1590
      @karenelizabeth1590 Před 9 lety

      Flyin' Ryan RC It wouldn't take off without flying sharply to the left or right, so I crashed it a couple times and busted a blade. After I replaced the blade, the copter won't take off at all.
      And yeah, the joystick for throttle is very sensitive. You had the right idea putting the extenders on.

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  Před 9 lety +9

      Karen Elizabeth Ah, you likely put on the wrong pitched blade! There are two different types of blades, so you have to be sure to replace a blade with one with the same pitch. Whichever blade you replaced, compare it with the blade diagonal from it… they should have the same pitch. Hope that helps get you back in the air! As for flying hard to the left or right, try recalibrating the accelerometer on a flat level surface. I discuss how to do that somewhere around the 6:30 mark in this video, if I recall correctly.

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  Před 9 lety +1

      Itty bitty titty commity Weird, someone else was just talking about having the same issue. I have no idea what could cause that. My only suggestions would be to try new batteries in the transmitter, try turning the transmitter on first, and then the quad, and vise versa, and maybe turn off any 2.4ghz devices that might be causing interference.

    Hey Ryan...Thanks for the cool reviews. They're giving me the insight I need before making my first quad purchase.
    Will probably go with this little fella (CX-10) just to build my confidence.

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  Před 9 lety +1

      Lee Cross Thanks, I'm glad you find them helpful! A nano quad actually isn't the best to learn on, as they can be twitchy and harder to fly than bigger quads, actually. I generally suggest the UDI U816A as a learner. It is cheap, relatively easy to fly, and well-protected, so you can crash it all over the place without worry about hurting it or anything else. :)

    • @treemanlee07
      @treemanlee07 Před 9 lety

      Flyin' Ryan RC I see your point...A larger quad will provide increased stability.
      I've had a fair bit of experience with coaxial micro heli's, so hopefully should be able to get to grips with a nano quad reasonably quickly? 'Hopefully'! Lol
      Will check out your recommended model, thanks again. ;-)

    Well I must say, after flying this thing everyday over and over, this thing takes a beating, I fly it outdoors a lot and I think because the mass is so low it just doesn't take any damage. I've crashed it into trees, had it bounce off the side of the house and land on cement, the props just have very minor scuffs. My only complaint is I wish the yaw sped up a little as the rates go up, I also wish there was yaw trim, but other than that I absolutely love it. The 15min charge time makes it so much fun. Also to note, mine came in a plain jane white box like your H1 Mini Ninja.
    Anyway thanks for recommending it Ryan!

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  Před 9 lety

      A- Wall Awesome, glad you are happy with it! :) And, yeah, I've heard these are being repackaged in plain boxes, because people were complaining about the plastic cases getting smashed in shipping. :/

    @kinggimped Před 9 lety +2

    Got a set of 4 of these today (I live in China, took 2 days to get here :P) and they're great fun. So tiny! I'm terrible at flying them, though - finding it really hard to find that throttle magic spot where it just hovers and isn't gradually rising or falling. Need a lot more practice.
    Thanks for the video, you're much clearer than the crappy instructions!

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  Před 9 lety

      kinggimped Haha, glad my video helped. :) There isn't really that magic spot… you kind of always have to work the throttle in order to maintain elevation. The quad will hold its elevation on its own for maybe a couple seconds, but pilot input will always be required to maintain it for longer than that.

    • @kinggimped
      @kinggimped Před 9 lety

      Thanks for replying Ryan. Sounds like I'll need a lot of practice. I realised after my first charge and rewatching your video that I'd been using it on the fastest speed setting, so that probably was why I was finding it so hard to control. Even on the first setting though, I'm finding it really difficult to control, but then this is my first quad.
      The way you fly it around so expertly in the video makes it seem so effortless! I have a long way to go before I'll be able to keep it airborne for longer than 5-10 seconds without it crashing a wall.
      Quick question, where can I get those stick extensions, and how do I fit them? I assume I have to take apart the remote and replace the bits, since it's all cheap plastic?

    • @theimacman
      @theimacman  Před 9 lety

      kinggimped I think you will be surprised at how fast you get the hang of it... keep practicing and you will be flying like me soon enough! :) Just take it slow and easy and try to get a feel for one thing at a time. As for the stick extensions, you just pull off the thumbpads and stick the extension onto the nub, and then put the thumbpads back onto the extension. You can get them here: www.ebay.com/itm/Estes-Proto-X-Nano-Quadcopter-CONTROL-STICKS-MADE-IN-USA-/221374749889?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item338af69cc1

    Just got mine and had a couple of flights with it, absolutely amazing little quad! I would say though that the problem you had in the video after the flip where it went unstable, has happened to me twice already. After a flip it will on occasion lose its calibration and veer off. I am certainly more reluctant to flip this little thing because of it.

    I bought a blue one of these and an orange one from your GearBest link with the coupon code. Unfortunately the orange one came with a mode-1 transmitter (I didn't even know such a thing existed when I made the purchase) and it looks like they are claiming all the orange ones come that way. I looked at Banggood and they let you pick what mode, but I saw no indication of mode on GearBest. Anyway, I was just wondering if you knew of any possible solution. I can't seem to get it to bind with the blue mode-2 transmitter, so maybe it just can't bind with other transmitters?
