- I build in the Lian Li Lancool 216 RGB gaming pc case. I go over the pros and cons of the Lancool 216 by Lian Li. The Lancool comes with so many great features and at this price, this case is hard to beat. With amazing cable management and room to work in, this case is GREAT.

This case support top radiator 360?
@@leeroyjenkins2814 you bet
Ur literally the ONLY one who showed the wiring of the fans! Saved my build, ty!!
Just bought mine :) Nice review, I love the fact that you get up close and show as the case. many big reviewers are focused on their big production and presentation but forget that people want to see them up close.
What I really appreciate about you, you stick the camera in the case so I can see the clearance and stuff properly. No one else has done that. Under-rated review right here. Thank you.
Thanks! Your detail on the RGB/Fan Header provided with the case was clutch in helping me not overthink the wiring. Success... thanks again!!
Dude you’re so excited and I really love the vibes, that’s incredible. Keep it up bro, you are cool
Most detailed review i ve ever seen, Case is a real flow monster, keep it up buddy!
yep cant express how we love the 216 enough! the definition of real airflow case!
Good energy.
Much excitement.
Like a kid getting his first nintendo.
Subbed.
I ordered white 216 before seeing this video and watched tons of 216 videos before that. They all agreed that this has to be a very good case. Your presentation is very straight and funny 😆 Thanks!
got this case a year ago and it's literally the best case i've ever seen. Built a good bunch of PCs over the last 20 years and i can't think of anything better on the market. it's soooo good
I love your no nonsense style of review. Keep it up! 🥰
i got the same case. and your correct, its like a wind tunnel with the case fans ramped up to full and is super cool. good honest review
Awesome review! After debating for days on which case to choose I’m 100% sold after this video. Building for the first time in this is gonna be great. Also HUGE props for explaining the whole fan hub and ARGB stuff, it was by FAR the most confusing aspect about pc building when I first heard about it and was scared I couldn’t figure it out once I had to do it myself, but your explanation made it so much clearer. Also love the fan hub the case has, will make it so much easier to manage everything all at once!
Glad to help. Which other case(s) were you considering?
@@Renegade_Rabryn Phanteks G360A, H5 Flow and this one. Mostly because of the price (They’re both 20-10 euros cheaper here in Italy compared to the 216) but I don’t mind paying slightly more for a better quality case

Can't you just port the wires through this bottom hole in the fan side or will it tug too much after installation?
Right below their thumb is a big hole for cable routing possibly.
This has to be the best value for money case i've ever seen , thanks for the details , good video
Thank you for your review! I'm excited to buy this case now!!
Awesome build/review video, just bought the case just waiting for the optional rgb controller to arrive.
Man, that was so fun and energetic! Make more cases, please
Well you convinced me just bought it!
Great Detailed video and like that you explain what all cables do. I learned a lot
Glad I could help!
What a legend, super nice review, case coming tomorrow!
Good job with explaining the case over all. But didnt see close up some of the cable connections like for the rgb. Finally figured it out and the video helped a bunch. So far no one has done a detailed MB installation in this case showing ALL the cable connections to the MB in slow detail.
Great ! Have same case, its awesome ! Thanks for showing us the connections from hub with mobo
Nice review. I was on the fence about this case but now I’m sure this is the one for my next build. I’m building another PC for gaming on my LG C3 65.
I love the austism on full display here, as well as all of your follow-up videos. Underrated and soon-to-blow-up channel.. congrats on finding your niche in an oversaturated market. Keep going.
Great review, very in depth. Thank you!
such an amazing review u have done explained every thing better than most of youtubers ❤
and i just ordered it today ☺️
I'm glad that I have found that video before the installation
Just bought one. Good review, thanks.
Great review! You're really entertaining to watch, and it helped me pick the perfect case. I was thinking about the NZXT H5 RGB, but I had some concerns about the fans and RGB cables. It seems like Lian Li has given more attention to these aspects.
I love the aesthetics of the nzxt h5 flow case. I reviewed the non rgb version so I don't want to say much about the rgb version, but if I'd have to guess I'd say the lancool is the better case. More support for fans, radiators, adding extra rgb...the rgb hub in the lancool is awesome.
I just bought this case and love the build quality and the massive improvement in air flow/Space. This is my second case from Lian Li (My first being the LanCool 205 Mesh) Upgraded my current Rig from small cramped corsair Red shift 5 case with side bulges to this Beauty of a beast! Enjoyed your video Rabryn and thanks! Peace!
I also bought this case. I am building in it next week.
Can you help me? I have a lian li 360mm liquid cooler.
There are two wires coming from the pump. 1 goes to the aio pump header on the motherboard, i am not sure where the other one goes. The other one goes to the psu sata connection with a connector?
@@rahuldasila2230bit late on the reply but the actual pump connector needs to go into SYS_FAN_PUMP and the fans connected to the radiator should go into the CPU fan slots
Just bought one today, watched Mr Matt Lee build and I really like the look and want to copy his. Anway enjoyed the video. Keep em coming
Thanks for watching!
just got one yesterday, really good case
Thank you for the detailed guidance! I'm still troubleshooting; my AsRock Z690 board lights stopped working - RAM and GPU rgb works and the fans run - and ASRock Polychrome software refuses to install, but I am checking for connection mistakes, and you CLEARLY show the RGB hub connections. Subbed!
My HAF XB EVO is starting to show it’s age with the maximum GPU compatibility, so I was looking for a new case. Wanted the be quiet Silent Base 802 because you can invert it (PC is on the left side) but this video singlehandedly convinced me to save $80 and get the Lancool 216. I’m rocking a Noctua NH-U14S so the 216’s airflow will be great. Thanks man!
This video made me return a brand new, unopened case that just got delivered so I could order this instead. Thanks for the heads up at the begining of this video. I am so glad I got this one instead. Everyone keeps saying it's the nicest case they've owned and it's true. This is the nicest case that I've owned. It's not thin cheap metal panels, but it's not heavy either. Absolutely fucking smitten with this case.
About to buy one. Sure someone already pointed out, but the "extra fan bracket" for the back is for you to be able to set up a vertical gpu mount. Which I am going to do, and which is one of the main reasons I am picking this case. No need for a vertical mount set, just a pcie riser cable.
Amazing review bro
Great Review Rabryn - I'm glad I didn't stop watching and just buy this case - though it it is currently on my short list. I was excited when we were all under the impression that the front input/output panel could be relocated, but alas - no... I hope others chime in if someone finds a solution and that you may do a followup video if there is a way. Best of luck 0n your channel, subscriber 424
One guy commented and said he was able to get the front panel moved to the side. He said he just had to force the cables to bend
@@Renegade_Rabryn I found this other review of the 216 helpful as he seems to have figured out an easy way to install the cables. czcams.com/video/fNNJSLP5sTU/video.html
Good review 👍
You sold this case to me. Good job. ^_^
Hey, this is the most detailed video on this case to date, and I appreciate you uploading it. The front area, it can support a radiator? Would it be able to house 3 fans on a radiator attached at the front of the case?
30seconds in to the video and you've got me convinced.
I've just got one of these cases too and they definitely advertise the front I/O as being relocatable to the side but you would need to really jam the cables in for it to work. It's the one poorly designed piece of this case. If you notice at the top of the case they have notched the metal frame so that the cables can go through but they didn't do the same for the side mounting position. I also gave up and just decided to leave the I/O on the top of the case.
this was the wildest Lancool 216 review that I've seen till now xX
specially 27:10
At the end, to change the USB position
Yeah, it feels weird, but you just have to take each wire individually, find a good way to angle it directly downward. Layer them on top of each other, and they will fit in that lower left corner against the fan
If the fan was slightly higher or usb hub slightly lower it wouldn’t be so cramped, but once you get the wires bent (they are pretty sturdy and are initially stuck in their bend for the top configuration), and lay them over each other it goes in just fine
Yeah the case is great imo, very smooth and easy
Thank you for explaining this. I've seen multiple other videos where they swap this usb panel around no problem. So i knew it was totally possible.
Dude I didn't even know about the sag bracket, I was going to buy this and the more I keep learning the better it gets.
I have the same case I dont know if anyone mentioned but in the case box there is a plate you can attached to the top if you run a 240mm aio...move the aio back a little and attach the plate witch blocks the other large hole... I love this case i have build a few pc's in this for me and friends...keep them coming...
Agree, I got the non rgb version, I dont know a case with better value. Feel lucky I stumbled upon it.
Just bought this and watching this now to get some ideas and confirmation that I made the right choice lol.
Thank you for your review. I bought mine as well. May I ask how you control the rgb of the front panel? Tx ^^
Thank you, my case didn't have the manual. I think the fan header is a 4 pin sys fan connection on the mobo. Found it. sys fan1-3 are headers. Lian li didn't think to post a link to the manual under its 34 sec video either.
got this case in white, cant wait to build it :):)
This is the case I am going to build in which will be white and the only thing I don't like is the Non RGB rear fan which will have to be replaced if you want RGB throughout the case. I will have a 360 AIO in top with RGB, 2 x 120 RGB in the bottom and 1 x 120 RGB in the rear. Wish the rear panel had the tab like the glass panel did that a thumb screw would lock it in to reduce the chance of it falling off when moving the case.
I was going to get the lancool 3 but I got the 216 instead and it’s amazing ❤
Just got the lancool to do a video on. I think the 216 is the better value.
Would you recommend this over the Pop Air XL for an all-air-cooled build? I've been trying to decide between the two. This one looks like it might have better airflow, but I heard the front fans might not be PWM/controllable? The Pop air XL has a 5 1/4" bay for a dvd drive, but I can buy an external drive if I really need to, and also has PWM front fans. GPU cooling is also a concern.
I’m thinking of this one!!
You are trying to squeeze the cabling through the side of the fan. You need to route the cables down to the bottom left hand corner of the fan and then head across the bottom of the fan and then run the cabling through the bottom of the fan where the gap is a lot bigger. It's a lot easier if you remove the front fan assembly first.
Just built my new PC in this case with a 7800x3D and a 4070 ti with a thermal take 360rad AIO I have low 30's at idle and mid 60's while gaming got it on sale at microcenter for only 100 bucks. The only thing I don't like about it is, it's kinda loud but that it is to be expected with an airflow oriented case.
29:00 I was able to do it. I moved the fans up until the upper front fan covers the thumb screws. The cable fits but it's tight. You can force it but if you feel like you're trying to fight it, then it isn't enough. Also the frame for the fans can be moved up like just a couple of millimeters. Hope this helps!
Please help me reach 1000 subscribers. Thanks for watching.
sure
Is that a Canadian I hear? :O Great review, by the way. Looking forward to building in this case tomorrow.
Sure is
Yooo thank you bro. It’s been days couldnt get my shit to light up !
Question, for the AIO, how do the cords work with the fan hub. Can the Fans that come with my AIO cord go into the fan hub (its deepcool) and the RGB as well to the fan hub. Or should my AIO cords for the fan still go to the motherboard?
I have done the front io to the sides, all you have to do is cram every thing on the side of the fans, a bit hard though. At first I was scared on the cables of the io but it has been 3 months since and no problem what so ever.
Thx for letting viewers know it can be done.
@@Renegade_Rabryn Building in this case now and its basically this. There are 2 tabs on the I/O that fit into holes on the case. I pushed the I/O first and got it the tabs into the holes. This allowed it to sit until I reinstalled the screws. Really did have to push a little hard though. Was a little scary haha.
When he said end the video and go buy this case thats exactly what I did
Great review. One question i own the same casing how can i set the front fans as PWM?
It will work on the side just have to raise the fans up a little bit
I'm a bit late to ask you this, but does that PCIE Fan Bracket support a T30 fan? The T30 fan is 30mm thick, which is thicker compared to a standard 120mm fan like the A12x25 from Noctua, which is 25mm thick.
I would swap AIO fans as intake and have 4 intake 1 exhaust BUT reduce the front panel intakes speed to a very low RPM so that air inside the case won't flow too fast. This way I consistently get lowest temperatures in various builds. Anyways, I found out 5 fans is simply too much so I'd reduce rpm regardless of setup.
Hey if you can you take side by side photos of the nzxt flow and lian li 216 top down view? I wanna visualize how much longer the lian li 216 is
I got this case along with the GA II Trinity 360 AIO and I'm having a bit off difficulty, I was hoping you could help me. I have everything setup, but for some reason the RGB on my AIO aren't working. The fans are spinning, but it's not detecting it in L-Connect. Which part of the ARGB hub on the case plugs into the motherboard? This argb wiring is so new to me.
Hi ! how is with the dust after some months? It is building it up inside?
I see you have a thermaltake CERES as well, I've been thinking about either the CERES 500 or this LANCOOL 216 what do you think?
I haven't yet built in the ceres so I'm not sure.
I do not have motherboard with 3 pin rgb connector so how do i connect the rgb from the front fans ? i got 4gen intel here i did actually used an adaptar sata to 3 pin rgb and still does not work...
What do i have to do ?
Just got this case and looking forward to building in it. I gotta question about fans and the rgb fan hub. I have got the deepcool ls520wh which has rgb fans on the radiator. Do I connect those to the case rgb/fan hub? I also have the argb fan controller
Yep the rgb for the fans should just hook up to the hub in the lian li
does it come with the bracket to side mount a video card , my new video card has 3 slots ,, i bought the pny 4080 16gb super video card which i bought it for 999 dollars, which is the first part i bought ,, next trying to find a good case
I'm actually choosing between the G360A and the Lancool 216 right now. The 216 is a bit too tall for my space but might have to deal with it. Also highly considering the Fractal Pop Air (not XL). Any input on that?
Also, first I was set on the Lancool 205M Mesh, but that might be too small?
The lancool is quite a bit larger than the g360a. I have a video on the g360a as well. I didn't like it as much as the lancool but the g360a is a great case regardless of my opinion. The pop airs are okay but I wouldn't buy one for myself.
@@Renegade_Rabryn thanks, man! G360A it is, then 🙂 I really like the looks too. The computer is for my son. If I was building for myself, the Lancool might be a candidate.
@@Renegade_Rabryn by the way, I subbed. I know how hard it is to get subscribers. Just lost about 30 myself, which was 10 percent of my subs 🤣
I'm doing a build with this case and my power supply (ASUS TUF Gaming 1000 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX) screw holes do not line up. Thoughts?
How does it compare to the Lancool 2 Mesh or the FD Torrent Compact?
Edit/Advice for People building : Don't bother trying to change the front fans pre-installed positions on the Fan hub, cables are too short and second fan RGB won't reach much further. Put the Front I/O Panel type C connector inside the plastic corner of the front fan and assemble both together otherwise it will not fit to change the I/O to the side position. Only con I have found so far is the HDD bracket has no anti vibration rubbers, when HDD starts spinning it can be quite noisy, mind you it is a 10 year old HDD, I am aware it is not the quietest at this point but barely noticeable on my old case. Godly AIRFLOW!!!
I ordered mine last week, waiting for it to arrive, should be any day now. I saw lots of reviews about it but it is nice to see a more recent one still having the same opinion. Can't wait to be able to build in it, considering that I have the exact set up as you (mobo+PSU) does clarifies a lot of my doubts. I was screaaaming bend the cables at the end as I have seen others do it but hey still a good job and well thought out video with some good quality shots. Thanks for the review!
P.S Pros - I learned it may or may not come with a GPU bracket (first review to ever show that but it is also the most recent one, maybe Lian Li decided to include it as the Lancool III brings it). Cons - I was hoping you would test the mounting bracket on the motherboard to see if it would fit or have any issues since I have the WIFI II version of the same board but you didn't and left me hanging with my doubts 😂😂 Great video nonetheless, I will find out in person until the end of the week either way.
Turns out I got a call after writing this comment and already got the case, tomorrow I am waking up early! 😃
Haha sorry man. I completely forgot to install the mounting bracket
@@Renegade_Rabryn So I did build it already, AMAZING case to build on, just freaking great and you weren't kidding about the air it moves o.O. I can confirm it does comes with the GPU support bracket and it fits on the motherboard albeit very close to the sata ports it still fits, what didn't fit was my GPU 😑 glad I am upgrading soon. I understood what you meant with the front I/O not fitting, the fan plastic mold hits the USB C connector and it won't let it sit properly, I fixed it by putting both thing at the same time, so that the connector stays in between the fan bracket already.
i had the same problem with the add on rgb controller- i fixed it by getting rid of the usb cables (the just unscrew from the box) my only problem is i have no idea where wires go- seems like the video on lian li site is an old one and the wires are not in the same place.
Jays 2 cents did one. it comes in a box with with the rgb 216.
"I don't do cable management..." love it.
The anti sag bracket is not in my box, where did you order it?
The frame does not need to be unscrewed. unscrew the fans and lift them up as much as possible, and you drive the cables under the bottom one.
Been Thinking about getting this case myself. I have already built in other Lian Li cases. I tried out the pop Air. Looking for a change and try something different.
The 216 is awesome
Dont you want to connect the AIO fans straight into the motherboard anyways?
I was considering phanteks g360a.. But not anymore. 🤣
Although i do wanna know your thoughts on lancool 2 mesh in comparison with 216
Man that tackle box makes me want to get it just for that. All the extra crap being stored in a baggy that is either ripped permanently or is in one of those shitty ones that don't snap closed properly. Probably (definitely) bugs me more than it should.
29:14 I see the cables go between the front cover of the fans and that little L shape at the bottom , so when you close it , wont be any interference with the cables
In case the front fans break, are they easily mountable with 3x 120mms or 2x 140mms?
yes
What camera do you use for this video?
How many rgb fans can go on the case's fan hub not counting the two 160mm rgb fans ?. Also my motherboard only has one rgb header does the fan hub allow me to connect more than one rgb fan or do I need a splitter ?
the hub can power an additional 4 fans... it has 6 connections total....the front fans each use one. There are a total of 4 rgb connections on the hub...the two front fans use a splitter and use 1 rgb connector leaving you 3 extra rgb connections
Hi, I am planning to get this case, do I need to buy extra casing fans? or the pre-installed is enough? going to build i5 13500 & RTX 3060 in it
Are you using an all in one liquid cpu cooler or an air cooler on your cpu. If you're using an air cooler I'd personally add 1 or 2 exhaust fans in the top.
I will be using an Air Cooler, specifically Deepcool AK400@@Renegade_Rabryn thanks! I shall take not of your suggestion.
Does it come with the vertical mount?
Someone pls help me: i have this case but I don't have the ARGB connector on the motherboard so that is the only cable that is not connected, fans are spinning but the 2 frontal panel's fans have no LED, I do think that they should light on but correct me if I am wrong
Pretty sure they give you a plate to cover the gap if you use a 240 rad in the top.
I can't agree with you more, although realistically for the price that rgb controller wouldn't be included even a decade ago. Regardless, a year later show me a case that offers a glass panel, 160mm fans a gpu bracket and the front I/O it does, and actually can compete when it comes to airflow at that price?
How does it compare to the Lancool 3?
Awesome build man! I do have a question, I have the same case but white. The problem is that I cannot for the life of my find ANY software that can detect the RGB on the fans. The RGB is connected, and it is constantly in the rainbow pattern. The fans themselves work flawlessly, but i cannot change the color in any way.
The rgb is connected to the motherboard properly? The software you use will be your motherboard software. Aura for asus. Mystic for msi...etc
@@Renegade_Rabryn Yes, it is connected. Gigabyte control and RGB Fusion does detect stuff, but no changes works. I have checked online and it seems it may be the software...tried reinstalling every driver but it did not do anything.
@@TheLaur200 you need to buy the side panel there is a button to change colours or go with the L connect 3
