- Hello friends, today we will show the renovation of the old table fan of the Elektra Praga brand.
Veronika bought this fan on the antiques exchange, she liked it very much and as soon as she saw it she had an idea of what it would look like and where to put it :) What would I not do for my wife :)

Always impressed by the finish you achieve using spray paint from cans. Careful prep, patient application, and fine wet sanding make all the difference. Lovely work.

For a moment I thought it was an electric motor for a type of water tank, just watching the video I realized that it is a very robust tabletop fan design.
That has been as fresh from the factory.

Very interesting fan. Definitely not "child safe". I have a fan similar that my grandfather had. I enjoyed watching this restoration and also enjoyed trying to figure out when this was made. I was thinking maybe 30's or 40's. I'm glad you replaced the wiring. I don't trust old wiring. It came out really well! Stay safe and healthy over there!

Po cvaknutí kleštěmi jsem se "vyděsil", že na řadu přijde plastová šňůra. Ale k mé radosti byla taky opletená, ani jsem nevěděl, že tyhle šňůry jde koupit. Omlouvám se za chvilkovou nedůvěru, protože vaše práce je vždycky pečlivá a citlivá. Ještě jednou dík, zvedlo mi to náladu. :)
Děkuji mnohokrát. Ano šňůra jde koupit v jaké koliv barvě na jakou si vzpomenete :) Je sice dražší, ale stojí to za to. Hezký den Radek.

Enjoyed your restoration video. So many tear them down, clean, change some wires, but do not show doing it and putting it back together. I enjoy that too, but I like to see the actual restoration. Great job!!

i've restored fans since the 1960's, including a veradona. this video was made overseas, probably the u.k. i use rust-o-leum primer & topcoats. cleaning dirt & varnish from moving parts can be done with steel wool (fine) & lacquer thinner. re-lube with s.a.e. 10 w. cloth cords can be purchased from amazon or ebay. if the blades are brass or aluminum, i polish with rouge on a soft cotton buffing wheel.

Those bearings looked like they never seen a drop of oil until you oiled it yourself, Radek. One reason I guess, is the blade hub covering the entire motor. Whilst it looks good, it probably made it too hard to oil from the previous owner's perspective. Veronika has an eye for style, it's quite a unique piece.
