Love that there's no cheap jump to break the tension. The first movie did so well at building that suspense. Hopefully Chapter 1 does the same.

It’ll be good for Madeline to have a lead role since leaving Riverdale, she was one of the most emotionally ranged actors so I’m excited to see how she pulls through with this!

There’s something about the sheer soulless and lack of motivation that the trio displayed in both movies, that really sells it.
Horror movies that show the deepest evil traits of humans, without all the vava boom, going ham, are honestly so scary.
Just so happy to see Madelaine in something other than Riverdale, not in some low budget movie that the plot makes no sense. Her acting is really good and deserves to be in the big movies like this one.

Lol this is a low budget horror movie. It looks almost like a cheaper remake. I mean I love the franchise so I’ll watch, but the camera is of lesser quality and that it a big tell of the budget.
Madelaine can actually act so she should do well in this. I think she'd make a great scream queen.

I like the throwback vibes we're getting here from the 2008 movie. This is one of the best movies ever! It's such an intense psychological thriller and literally has you biting your nails! - I'm excited to see where this new trilogy takes us. Couldn't be happy that we're not only getting one new movie, but three!! Hope it comes out early 2024!

The strangers is pretty close to being your basic slasher horror movie just with slightly more thought and effort put into it . But there’s nothing “ psychological “ about it

But a psychological horror movie deals with the characters oh idk … psychological states and and their headspace and is also a lot more focused on character and what the characters are going through during the movie amongst other things that I really couldn’t bother naming off to you … the strangers is about a couple in a cabin being attacked by masked killers ……

Its also barely a slasher, had there been an extra kill done by the strangers it'd be in slasher territory, but ultimately it's a psychological horror with slasher elements
That's all I needed to see. I'm not watching a trailer. Don't want this spoiled for me. I'm glad it's going back to it's roots. The strangers is a very realistic franchise and deserves the respect it already has.

I absolutely love The Strangers and The Strangers: Prey At Night. Both films are reminders of the real life psychopaths who are out there, who enjoy hurting others for the thrill. I’m excited for this film! ❤
I didn't know there was a 2nd film. Not sure how I missed that since I keep up with movies coming out, especially horrors. I'll have to see if I can find it on a streaming service and watch it. Thanks for the heads up!

This clip alone gives more vibes of Strangers than Prey at night (which totally failed to replicate the whole suspense the 1st had)
I honestly don’t think they were trying to replicate part one with Prey at night. They wanted a more stylized throw back slasher and I think they succeeded. Soundtrack was super 80’s too. I love them both for different reasons.

The original one had me scared with genuine fear at 12 yeard old. I’m gonna say it’s my favorite horror movie. I loved prey at night, too. I seriously can’t wait for this. So happy they’re continuing this. Thank you for continuing this masterpiece!

Rewatched the first Strangers movie last week.
The original movie is truly creepy and one of the finest horror gems.
The first Strangers is one of my favorites, but I also enjoyed prey at night and liked the difference in pace between the two movies and worked well for both, imo. The pool scene in prey at night with Total Eclipse of The Heart playing throughout is still one of my favorite horror/action scenes.
Yea I loved the second film the best I thought it was great also cause Bailey madison is awesome I still can't wait for this film though.
This actually looks really good. The actress in this scene is way better than I expected this movie to carry and the they're doing a great job setting and building the tone. Really excited to see this now!

The Strangers is among my favorite horror films because it's an example that this can actually happen in real life. It has get under the skin and you have to put yourself in the victims shoes.
The Strangers also show that there are people out there who get the thrill off of stalking and harassing their victims before killing them. It makes you think what kind of sick people are out there

Something the original Strangers did VERY well was tension, especially when the women was home alone. The key aspect to that was silence and not knowing ANYTHING that was happening, same as the women. This seems to keep that which I really like. I hope the rest of the movie follows and knows when to keep it quiet with no obnoxious music. The music sting when the person walks behind her is ALRIGHT, but again....idk. I loved the man sitting in the dark behind the women in the first movie more than just somebody walking by. It was ten times scarier. Maybe they'll recreate that. That'd be cool. I'm still hyped for this!!

I like his Nightmare on Elm Street movie and enjoy Deep Blue Sea, but neither one is particularly spare and subtle. He's more of a beat-you-over-the-head-with-a-mallett kind of filmmaker

Holy shit lol this is the type of crazy chaos that happened in the original movie, responding to knocks/bangs on the front door then the camera shows someone walking past behind the unsuspecting victim. Home invasions gotta be the scariest in terms of being realistic

The strangers is one of the last horror movies that truly terrified me. I hated the second one but really excited for this next chapter!
The second one was lame, the first was iconic because of how scary and true to life it was. Your seeing liv Tyler and rooting for her to escape. And then she doesint. It really shocked me. There was no final girl in that movie, and I think it shocked audiences as well as myself

There’s that scene when Liv is basically just frozen on the front stoop because she doesn’t know where anyone is, there’s no car, no phone and Scott is trying to play hero. Then a twig snaps and she just bolts. That scene felt so real because wtf do you do?!

The first Strangers and its sequel, Prey at Night, were both great movies. I'm not sure Strangers needs a remake since it still holds up really well and isn't that old. But, I'll still watch these. I'm excited Renny Harlin's doing them.

I'm guessing that the new reboot trilogy takes place between the original film and Prey at Night seeing as how the killers are obviously still alive for it. Can't wait to get more backstory for the Strangers, including what their relationship is, what drove them to do what they do and why they do it, as well as maybe even their childhoods. Hopefully Pin-up Girl gets as much screen time as Dollface and the Man in the Mask, because she has been painfully overshadowed by them, especially in Prey at Night. It will be interesting to see Melissa Petsch playing the new final girl and whatever she brings to the table, I'm sure it is going to be great though. Hopefully we get a trailer for Chapter 1 or perhaps even the whole trilogy seeing as how they are all being released next year, and I cannot wait to see it!

Nahhhhhh bro, the idea of backstory, what drove them and why, that all betrays the idea of The Strangers for me. I think we will get it in this trilogy, but if we do i'll probably skip them.

Do you mean Tamara? Is Tamara home? Im pretty sure that was just so they could gauge if their victims were there and probably how many people were staying in the cabin. Who knows if they even said anything like that in real life. They could have just added that for affect. If you notice The Strangers Prey At Night was made quite I guess you could say comically. It has definitely things that continue themes throughout it. Like the smiley face on the note and their mailbox, the three knocks and the toy noise. The masked man loves playing old school music in his murder scenes. It's all theater to make it dramatic, just like her asking if Tamara is home to suss them out.

This is one franchise that doesn't seem to lose steam with each sequel, like so many others. Strangers II was just as good as Strangers I. Hope III doesn't disappoint!
