Was interesting documentary except for constantly having to hear the narrator call the Grand Prix the Grand Prick!
James Huseby hahahaha yes I had for some reason heard “prix” pronounced as “pricks” at an event prior to recording this and just went with it... felt silly when I saw the comments! That said it was still good fun to make lol, I hope to make one in the future but on a different brand where I dont make such a silly mistake- thanks for watching :) -Jake
@@GasGuzzlers So what you're inferring is that's what you think of the people you had a meeting with? You better hope they don't see your comment!
James Huesby not at all, I simply heard that word pronounced the wrong way and carried it on myself. Thats all :)
@@GasGuzzlers I was just kidding you In fact I felt a little bad saying anything cause you took it so well! But that was until I heard you call the Pontiac Vibrator the Pontiac Vibe!
Yeah I turned it off after that,
Can’t believe you said Grand Pricks
I wish I could like this comment more than once.
Please re-record the audio without pronouncing the x in Grand Prix. It's pronounced Grand "Pree".
pronounced French grahn-pree
"Grand Pricks"? It's pronounced "Grand Preeee"!
I almost fell out of my chair, when I heard the " Grand pricks" pronunciation 😂!!! Nevertheless, great video 👍
😆🤣😂 cool video, with great content, but He keeps calling it a a Grand Pricks!
We should make a drinking game with this. Again great video!
lol.did he say the grand prick.....lol
Nakia Caruth hahaha yes I did mispronounce Grand Prix, live and learn! Thanks for watching :) -Jake
@@GasGuzzlers no worrys i love the review tho keep them coming... and i got a 07 grand prix gxp i love pontiac
Couldn't believe it than to be constantly repeating The Grand Prick jezz
Don’t forget Jim Rockford’s beautiful Firebirds on The Rockford Files 😊
I grew up in Pontiac Michigan my Grandfather worked at Pontiac motors for 40 years and all my uncles worked for either Pontiac or a GM plant in the area. I remember diving by the plant and would marvel at the smelting pots on the outside of the building being moved full of red hot steel Pontiac did their own iron castings for their engine blocks. It’s sad that plant closed down Pontiac went into decline after GM closed that plant as well as a couple more in the area.
Could have mentioned that Pontiac was named after a war chief of the Ottawa native American tribe. Also, Pontiac was groundbreaking in the use of a rubber bumper replacing chrome plated steel, making their styling way ahead of it's time. They made a compact car like the Corvair but the engine was in the front and the transmission in the rear, a very stable design.
All great things! Especially the corvair fact, thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great week! Best -Jake
Great Review Bro ! " WE BUILD EXCITEMENT " PONTIAC . I remember those commercials back in the 70s and 80s , my parents owned a Pontiac Parisienne wagon back in the day . GOOD TIMES CHEERS ...
Pontiac: we build excitement, until they didn't. What a mistake! Bought three new Trans Ams. Still have my 2001 WS6.
they were trying to bring back excitement with the 2000’s GTO,Trans Am,Grand Am GT’s etc but the economic situation got them shut down. if it made more sales at the time, GM would’ve shut down another brand
@@thatcarguy0710 No. They stopped making the Trans Am. I guess they tried with the Solstice, but bringing the Australian Holden Monaro, which had good performance, but frankly was butt-ugly and looked nothing like a classic GTO, and making minor cosmetic changes and then putting Pontiac and GTO badges on it was just plain stupid. They should have brought it back like Dodge did the Challenger/Charger.
@@carlhawks2915 yea but Dodge was a rival. Pontiac was more like Chevy so they should’ve did like a 5th Camaro style with some cosmetic and performance changes. i think Pontiac should’ve been like the wild child of GM. where they have crazy power and options for interiors, trim levels, body styles like no other. if Pontiac would’ve been up for sale (which there was a guy who had the money and wanted to buy Pontiac) i think Pontiac would be that wild child in the GM family
Still have my 97 T/A convertible. Blue on white. 50 k miles on her. Had a 71 T/A (455SD) White on blue. WE BUILD EXCITEMENT! Long live the legacy, Pray for the return.
@@greglang848 Would be great if they returned, but apparently Buick survived instead because they were popular in China. Go figure!
I believe GM never wanted to sell the Pontiac brand because they might still bring it back at some point.
You lost all credibility regarding your knowledge of Pontiacs when you repeatedly pronounced it Grand "Pricks" instead of Grand "Pree" at time 3:30 and 4:48 etc. His name is pronounced "Noodson" not "Nuhdson." It's pronounced "Aster" not "Astray" for a moment I thought you said "ashtray." Obviously you never cared enough to get to know your subject before reading it off a piece of paper like a 6th grader's composition. The reintroduction of the GTO failed because of two words... four doors. THUMBS DOWN with a click of "Don't recommend channel"
Jett Gardner thanks for the feed back! We are always working and improving, we have come a long way from our early videos! Sorry a mispronunciation had such an effect on you! I hope you have a good week -Jake
@@GasGuzzlers If you look at the other comments you'll see it effected more than just me. Any Pontiac fan would've clicked out immediately rather that suffer your repeated mistakes but I watched the whole thing looking for redemption and found none.
I'd love to see ones like Studebaker and Hudson done in the style! I'm also a die hard Pontiac lover, still.
my favorite car is the pontiac firebird
A classic!
Pontiac was a hot brand in the 80s
Sorry you’re not answering the question my family was a Buick agency started in 1919 and they eventually had to take over Pontiac for a while until after they got Pontiac back on their feet and then General Motors took the Pontiac dealership off of my families Buick dealership and that was the end of it Jerry Mcdonogh
Its interesting that someone had an interest and the financing to buy it and GM decided to retire it instead of sell the brand and rights and make money off it and downsize to meet their Government requirements. Seems it would be a win win. They was just afraid of this guy doing to well with it and having to compete with their own creation.
Grand Prix pronounce as pree!
There was never an “end to Pontiac”. Hop in my ‘69 400 Firebird and I’ll show you what I mean !!!!
Hahaha those are words of wisdom! When I do a pt. 2 one day il be sure to include that :) thanks for watching and have a great week! -Jake
Designed for action excitement well built fuel for the soul that brings back memories of the cars while in production months ago and lived on with the new trans am.
The 455 trans am with the black color scheme which lives on of the franchise of Smokey And The Bandit in honor of Burt Reynolds moments before his death in September 2018.
K.I.T.T. lives on as well K.I.F.T. and K.A.R.R. of the Knight Rider franchise in 1982.
Jazz with his silver solstice transformation lives on of the first transformers movie in 2007.
Pronounced “Grand Pree”, not Grand Pricks!
A lot of Races today are name behind Grand Prix aka PONTIAC. 🔥😎
Merch?
We will drop the hottest merch when the time is right
Love your video. But it’s not “pricks” it’s “pree”. The x is silent. It’s a French word. ❤️❤️
I hate that people are so ready to revive Hummer. Screw Hummer, give me my Pontiacs.
#kitt aka #knightrider
It’s pronounced grand preee. Not pricks. The x is silent.
This presenter needs to learn the proper pronunciation of Grand Prix, Bunkie Knudsen, Pete Estes, Lake Orion, etc.
