6:27 the doggo trying to get to the fish is so adorable! Fun video. I actually don't breed fish at all, but I really enjoy these videos. :)
Nice! I'll have to order a few of these for our new setup once the weather warms up!
I set up a 55 planted with small plants, that no longer has plants. I broke down my 48 Bowfront and put the few fish I had in the 55 of which were three bristlenose. The common type but a few days later I had over 50 fry from the bristlenose. I went back to the 48Bowfront, there was about two inches of water still and two Bristlenose fry. About 30% of the fry turned out Albino. I have bred Corydora and now Bristlenose.
Perfect Timing! Was just about to get some and try breeding them
Amazing video as always!! keep it up!! :)
From $37K to $45K that's the minimum range of profit return every week I thinks it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay bills and take care of my family..
Excuse me for real?,how is that
possible I have struggling
financially, how was that possible?
Thanks to Elizabeth Marie Hawley.
YES!!! That's exactly her name (Elizabeth Maria Hawley) so many people have recommended highly about her and am just starting with her 😊 from Brisbane Australia🇦🇺
I have heard a lot of wonderful things about Elizabeth Maria Hawley on the news but didn't believe it until now. I'm definitely trying her out
Same here, with my current portfolio made from my investments with my personal financial advisor (Elizabeth Maria Hawley) I totally agree with you
Bro thank you for all the amazing content, question: what lights do you use in your fish rooms im in Australia as well so getting the same ones shouldn't be an issue, ive been trying to get a good one for a while but cant find any. keep up the good work
Love the blurred loach effect on the thumbnail. How did you do that?
Wow, absolutely love these Hillstream loaches :) Would a couple of pairs be alright in a 60cm tank (that looks like what you have there ?) If I purchase from you Nick do we get a random selection or can you request a couple of pairs ? I have heaps of riverstones in the local area and could make an awesome little rock pile for them to breed.
What foam / matting do you put under your tanks? Struggling to find anything for aquariums that is not really thin and unsure of other alternatives. Love the vids, setting up my own racking system like yours soon!
Love your breeding videos. You should do more, I use your methods and have worked every time. What about another barb breeding video like Odessa barbs not many good videos on these and area cool fish or rainbow shinners?
Greg Sage of Select Aquatics has a whole bunch of info on breeding Odessas on his website. I got a couple hundred fry coming up now.
Love those things
Thank you for your wisdom, teenage Borat! :D
I get hillstream loaches, my neighbour gets hillstream loaches
love your channel, when you going to come to the saltwater side of the hobby as well?
Hey! Could you try and breed Danionella cerebum?
I have cherry shrimp with my
Hillstream loaches and they breed fine. I might have some losses but my tank is heavily planted so wouldn't know.
I miss these videos!!!! Keep up the great work brother
Any recommendations on tank mates that wont eat the eggs/babies?
Another great success! I love these little fish, they are so cool to watch, Thanks for sharing 🙂
Have u done rainbow shiners?
What happened to the borneo loaches, were you ever able to breed them?
I'm also finding these in my local fish store
They are so funny to watch 😂❤
Great video bro !!!
great information thanks!!
Your doggie wants a snack
If they breed so well, why are they so high in price? and hard to find, there should be tons of them in shops
Hillstream can live in tropical water or cold water
Man I love his videos so much.
Do you have goby fishes? Just curious 'cause I like those fishes
Do these guys eat snails like other loaches do?
Why are they so expensive to buy then?
The camera quality is noticeably better❤
Put Ramhorn snail this year tank, only 4 new born spotted😂 but im not sure they eat the egg or not
Have a question...Learning about genetics and how if I cross certain characteristics to get a better looking fish..So my question is," What do I need to breed to get you remove the mustache?"
Loving your videos ❤❤❤
I am trying to breed bettas, but the male isn’t making a bubble nest, do you have any tips? Love the moustache 😂
Maybe feed live foods?
Ok will try thanks
@@CruzeMarsden-gi6jp add some Indian almond leaves to his water. They love tannins.
Already have tried but thinking he isn’t interested in the female
@@CruzeMarsden-gi6jp that's possible. What's the water parameters?
I think it’s awesome what you do
I have had similar success as your, but have never managed to grow fry to adult size ,I have some fry 3 years still around 50-55mm adults 70-75mm,as you mention very easy to spawn very little intervention, I move adults every 60days I had same problem you had predation by first spawn on next fry moving adults helps a great deal.
They are so expensive and rare to find in brazil
Doggo is trying to get the fish LOL
👍🇲🇾
It looks like the tank is full of snails so maybe they're not that detrimental to the eggs?
any update for your borneo sucker bro ?
Love the dogo licking the glass
Please make one tutorial for cardinal tetras i have tried the neon tetra method it didn't work out for me. Would be helpfull if you make a tutorial because your tutorial has been very clear compared to others.
Success in breeding fish in general is always a joy, but success with a more unique species must be quite fulfilling 😉
Always impressed with your accomplishments.
I bought 2 of your hillstream loaches on Thursday night!! I've been looking for them forever since my usual LFS says they're basically impossible to get in Australia but it was a massive deal for me as I've wanted them for 12+ months. Keep up the solid effort man your store and everything you do is incredible
where in Australia is his store located ?
@@anugrah8065 QLD
@@anugrah8065Brisbane, Queensland 😃
Then you need to go to a better LFS .

How do you catch them? Is there an easy way? They suck on the glass the minute you put the net in the water.
What size would you consider them to be sexually mature?
5:11 look at the cutie trying to lick the loaches
So easy to breed. Why so expensive?
"Literally just have water" 😂
Wonder if this would work for panda garras
It's not many years ago that all the advice was these fish need cool water, fast flow, multiple large water changes with cooler water and will rarely eat anything apart from algae growing on the rocks. They were considered a really difficult fish to breed. It was Lucas from LRB who dispelled this by keeping them at normal fish room temperatures in a tank with no filter and hence no water movement. They bred for him without any effort on his part.
This is actually amazing, if they can do well in conditions like this instead of highly specific setups it opens the door for so many possibilities to keep them.
If they are that easy to breed why the rip off price.??
Iam new here what is bug buffet
It's his fish food that he makes
Here in Florida they run $15+ a piece. If they're so easy to breed thats ridiculous
Haha, here in Australia they're $60-80aud which is about 40-55usd each!
I have a baby hillstream loach in my community tank. It is so cute❤
I soooo want a couple of these guys. When I get cashed up, I will definitely buy a couple from you, and have them sent to Melbourne.
Can’t wait to see your new method. I have 12 gastromyzon , no breeding . I’m going to try 6 Hillstreams and see whet happens . I have them in a 72 gallon .
They are cool ngl but they would die for unknown reasons yeah i guess so
Wow that's y lot for 3 months start to the video. Thanks for sharing
My favourite fish.. I just got 10 more on the weekend, hopefully they will really take off as a species in Australia.
I did have one get his dorsal fin caught in my net during the transfer though, definitely need to be careful moving those hundreds of babies!
Breeding boraras maculatus?
You sold out to quicklyyyyy
The moustache looks good
Why are my guppies not breeding earlier when i had a bunch one female bred once and the whole colony lived but didnt breed for months i kept changing the males and females so i gave them away. I brought new different mutt pairs for breeding as they came from the shop one of them gave birth to 1 fry and that was 2 months ago. Again the same reason why arent they breeding?
10 gal tank full planted, big sponge, bug buffet (kinda) food + flake, heated, i suspected soft water so i changed to hard tap water still no luck and yeah all the basic things are ticked off idk why they act weird and dont breed? is there any secret thing im missing i dont get it
The dog is enjoying licking the tank and trying to get the loaches. lol
That was so cute! lol
He reminds me of mine. XD
Such a shame borneo loaches are much harder to breed, they're my favorite of the hillstream loaches
The real test, is breeding them in a river set-up with alternating current flow over a month period. From almost trickling to storming. Get those fishes genetics exercised.
Please shave lol
I had to sell my hill stream loach cuz of how aggressive and territorialal they are. I knew I couldn’t have lil buddy there forever and eventually gave him back to my local family owned fish store.
I also trying to breed hillsteam loach
so far i have purchased 9 of these fish so far, all males :[. Sadly the ones i did think were females didnt survive transit.
I just bought 2 HL and it turns out its female & male. The male have a "shoulder" between the head & fin. While the female have no shoulder. Overall I'm satisfied with their performance as algae eater. A "mini stingray" some people would call it.
Don't move! You have 2 Hillstream Loachen on your upper lip!
Shave that mustache off. Trust me you're not that guy again you're not that guy.
I personally dislike sponge filters in their entirety. The 1 inch air stones clog up too fast... you get very little dissolved O2 into your tank... and the filter portion is pathetic. Aqua Clear 70 and a water floss mechanism like a cartridge system that you can indefinitely extend the life of the flossing mechanism... as for air stones... 3-4" round/disc size seems to last indefinitely and introduce the proper amount of dislved O2 into the water...as opposed to the 1 inch garbage stones.
Note Songe filters are only good if you have a good auto water changing system in place. Also, pleco and any bottom feeder... produce tremendous amounts of waste... top water changes leave all that junk at the bottom which is why your tanks look so dirty with debris and detridus floating everywhere... which is how Microbacterium sometimes will find its way into your fish colony and start causing some to lose color... and die off. I have seen it destroy entire colonies fo fish in a couple weeks. Once they start showing color loss... they are dead.
Have I ever been so much busier that I haven’t watched your videos!!!! When did you grow out your mustache???? 🥸🥸🥸
