He did art at some point in his life. Even uploaded a video showing his art sketches he has done. He's quite talented and it still shows with these silhouette drawings.

But I would have assumed that in a game where almost every single other character who's nationality is represented in some kind of stereotype that Angel wouldn't be the rare outlier for some reason. Edit 2: Hell tbh, Angel looks Asian for crying out loud. So it shouldn't be any wonder why I would said she doesn't "look Mexican".

Imagine Rock Howard gets into the game, but it's a character called F*ck Howard, and it's a pure concentration of everything Max hates in a character both designwise and movesetwise. And SNK announces that they'll only put in the real Rock if Max reacts to FH's trailer AND get to the top rank of online with them. And that if he posts a reaction to Chris's trailer as well, they'll make him top tier.

With as strong as Max’s Rock obsession is he’d have “F*ck” at the top of the leaderboards within a few days and have Chris’s trailer reaction up the next day. Lol.

I like of all the things, someone chose to focus specifically on Ángel's boots.
To be fair, they're pretty damn big. It's actually probably worse fighting in those versus heels like Vanessa.
Maybe they're saving Kim to showcase how much better his pants look this time around? Seriously, his pants were made for showing off animating clothing creases in pixels. Maybe they've had a breakthrough in the 3D side of things?

I'm not a programmer, but I can only imagine how hard it is to manage the polygon count to make it behave like and simulate real clothing, never mind the creases! That's why it's more about refining the textures I guess. But still, I will never forget how Godly his pants looked in the HD sprite era of KOF XII and XIII

@@chakinabox I think what they would need to do is manually animate the clothings position for each frame of his standing animation instead of just letting the physics simulation do it.
This is a very tiny nitpick but I always wanted her to have spanish lines or to have an accent than the default high pitch anime voice. At least the Angel pronunciation is spot on.
Everyone not named Terry speaks Japanese in the game. Just roll with it.

Actually fitting rock into the canon is a bit complicated, he is just a child in the current kof canon i think

@@amestrisgone Of course, we actually have seen child-Rock canonically in kof unlike B jenet who was never canonically in a kof until her actual playable appearance, so the kof continuity still makes sense.

Compared to her classic design, I see she traded a lot of muscles for thiccness. In fact, every character got more thicc. Including Terry. Everyone but Mai, that got thicc nerfed for whatever reason.
Even tho i like my ripped girls, she looks pretty good here too, SNK worked really hard on her jiggles this time too.
Funny thing is the guys became Johnny Bravos, all upper body with little ass. How can they carry their huge shoulders with their flat asses?

While I was excited to see her in the game, I wasn't excited because of the two big reasons that most people were excited about. Legitimately, I wanted to see her do the People's Elbow because that's one of my all time favorite wrestling moves ever!

This one is so far my favorite Rock drawing and I honestly think it is one of the best, truly deserving of an official artwork by SNK.

Honestly, considering Kim's personality, I can almost see him TRYING to be a k-rapper, but like... whatever the Korean equivalent is to a cringy super-Christian rapper that has no rhythm but just speaks in rhyme on how we all need to lead virtuous lives, study hard, make our parents proud, etc. Like, love me some Kim, but we all know he is the antithesis of cool and SHOULD be that way. He is the well-intentioned but utterly inflexible type of character who can't imagine stuff like living on the fringes of society, rebellion and sexual relations before marriage. Any raps he'd make would be absolutely mortifyingly cringe-inducing.
And yet, now that I imagine them... I kind of WANT them, for some reason.
Maybe he'll team up with Angel in a attempt to reform her.
4 slots left. At this point Rock Howard's gonna be the Rain from MK of SNK games... never in the game's initial roster. Will from now on be just relegated as a DLC character.
Well, Base roster is supposed to be canon characters for story reasons/KOF saga. Rock shines in Garou Mark of the Wolves, which takes place 10 years after KOF is finished, so it makes sense to only be DLC.
This means TEAM MAXIMUM IMPACT WILL EXIST. YE YE YE YEAHHHH.

@@AceRevero and the funniest thing is that KOF was intended to be a crossover, FF events happen 10 years after AOF, and yet we have both on a same game. Hell, KOF even had Tizoc, Gato, B. Jennet and Hotaru before Rock Howard and all of them came from the same game

To explain it to you simply, there’s 3 different timelines, Fatal Fury, KoF, and the Maximum Impact timelines.

6:31 I think Kula is for sure going to be in the base roster considering that they didn't show team K' at the end of the trailer, and because of that I think that Ángel is in that final team that we don't know who will be in (besides her obviously), which means that Kim will probably not be in the game (not in the base roster at least, he could easily be in as dlc)
K', Ash, Angel, and Whip are all without a team and theres 5 people left. People would assume Kula at minimum, but do they keep Maxima or push him out of a game?
My theory is that both angel and the weird looking sand guy are in kim's team this time around

Ángel was one of the first characters I've seen when getting into KOF, and no joke, it was first seen in Maximilian Dood thumbnail of her during his time with KOF 14.
She's a personal fav of mine, not for sexual appeal, but for a very unique look. A mash up of Mexican, white hair, and biker clothes makes for a stylish looks. Plus her hard-to-master fighting style is a bonus.
It's the sex appeal for me😋

jokes aside, i actually do like angel's boots being so big. yes, her boots. big "feet" are a design choice i quite like on characters. megaman x, ganondorf, gundam physalis. it makes their kicks feel a loooot stronger. so yeah, while i do like the OTHER design choices made for angel, i unironically like her boots as well.

You do get rewarded though, as she has many mix ups with lots of high lows
