  • Infinity g35x 2007 came in with a fuel gauge non functional , every time the ignition is turned on the gauge reads Full.
Tested and confirmed the floater arms are functional with a multimeter changing resistance when the arm is moved around.
Turned out to be the AC climate control unit above the radio had 2 cracked resistors as seen in the video , some solder refresh and everything is back to normal.

I did the pump/sending unit replacements when my wife ran out of gas for likely the first time ever (yikes). Still reads full. We've been setting trip meter for 2 years when we fill up as a workaround. Now having possible clock-spring issues (flashing air-bag light), but the P0462 is the only persistent code showing. Regardless of current issue, I have not wanted to pull cluster, and seeing this I'm 99% sure it's the fuel gauge issue. Much appreciated! 😃

Thanks brother. I did initally replaced my passenger side fuel pump on my 2012 fx35 due to inaccurate fuel gauge issue I had. Also, because the car is old so I thought the fuel pump and levelling sensor showed some signs of malfunctioning. However, the the replacement, fuel gauge is the same. It doesnt go down past 3/4. Finally, CEL came on with this code. followed your tip and found one resistor with cracked solder. Resoldered it and now it's all good again. More power to you! God bless❤❤❤

Thank you very much for helping to solve this problem once and for all. Opened everything up and soldered up those old resistors. Specifically it seems it was the 161 as you showed. Damn thing came off at first so I knew it had to be it once soldered down. Cleared the code and fueled back up. Finally good to go! Feeling extra empowered with this fix 🤘🏽

Had a good laugh when I went to drive the car. Couldn't get it into drive. There is a plastic piece that slides under the selector that the part that attaches the knob didn't go through properly, and only allowed me to go from park, reverse, and neutral. But not any lower. Just popped it all off and then stuck the stick in the right hole. ;-) there's a joke in there somewhere....... .... ..

I was gonna replace the fuel pump and fuel sensor but I decided to replace the ac amp control module first before messing with the fuel pumps. So i bought a new ac amp control module from Infiniti and replaced the old one and my check engine light went off and it cleared the P0462 code I had for several months and the fuel gauge is working properly now. Hi, thank you for finding the solution that even the dealership have no idea how to fix this ugly Infiniti gas gauge problem.
I would really appreciate it if you could help me with my issue after doing this repair.
I have 09 G37x coupe, the only thing wasn’t working is the gas gauge, and the check engine was on for this issue only. Gas gauge was stuck all the way to full and never change.
This morning I saw your video and I decided to give this a try. So I followed your steps and got the module out and went to an electronic repair shop and he soldered 4 resistors ( three of them marked (161) and one marked (181))
The guy soldered all 4 resistors and tested all of them and test passed.
Went back to my car and installed the module and the gas gauge is fixed and no more check engine light.
    But
Now I have multiple issues: the speed gauge is not working right and changes very slowly and doesn’t give you the right reading of your speed, also the rpm is doing the same thing, and I have the TPMS is on and the air bag warning is on.
    Thank you

Yup so I’m here just to verify this video. He’s right, I have changed both my fuel pump (right back seat) and fuel sending unit (left back seat) but still the problem wouldn’t go away and my gas gauge still stuck at the middle of the gas tank and wouldn’t move any further downward. Just change the AC module control unit and it should be working. Most G37 and G35 have this same type of problem and usually it’s not bc of the Fuel Pump units so yeah if you’re having this type of a problem, just follow this guy or buy a new ac module control unit (the white board) like what he shown in the video.

    • @corvoattano3327
      @corvoattano3327 Před 6 měsíci

@@realmadridFS7 I believe that would be a different one though they all look kinda the same. However this problem often occurs on the G37 platform usually from the year of 2011-2013. It could be one of these 4 main problems
1/ Fuel Pump (located on the right back passenger seat).
2/ Fuel Sending unit (located on the left back passenger seat).
3/ AC amplifier module control (behind the Center Dashboard).
      4/ AC compressor.
That's as far as I know but these should be the main problems you should look for before getting a G37. Overall it's a very fun and durable car to drive and cheap to maintain.

My gas gauge somewhat works ,when it fills up and go to far above full that’s when I get the 0462, but when it gets down to full, the code goes away if I clear it, then it’s kind of wacky from full to a half a tank sometimes it’ll read correct sometimes it won’t but when it gets down to a half a tank it starts reading correctly.

I have read but lost the info in my service manual that the later or earlier models are wired to the ac auto amp but the other year g35s are NOT and they are wired from the fuel senders to the cluster itself directly. This can quickly rule out if its a cluster or ac auto amp issues. Can you or anyone please verify which years g35 had the ac auto amp wired to the circuit and which DIDNT? i really dont wanna have to pull out the ac auto amp AND the cluster if one doesnt work. Its enough work as is.
