At first glance you could mistakenly think this Orange Chiffon Cake is an Angel Food Cake. Both cakes have a tall circular shape and that characteristic hole in the center which comes from baking the cake in a tube pan. And both cakes have a light and spongy texture. However, they are different in that Chiffon Cakes contain both egg yolks and egg whites, along with baking powder, orange juice, and a liquid fat (in the form of oil). It is the oil that gives this cake its wonderful moist and tender crumb and keeps the cake soft even when refrigerated.

thanks to you few years back I started experimented making chiffon cake.i still remember how I made first cake using half quality and first experiment was successful then got myself big pan ..kitchenaid ...rest is history . orange.,chocolate, strawberry, pineapple I tried all flavours ..huge hit ..so big thanks to you

I have made this one and so many variations of this cake and they have all turned out beautiful. Lemon, Chocolate, Ginger, Blueberry, Pineapple have all baked well above my expectations and I finish them with various glazes and Ganaches, they are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for this amazing recipe. I made it yesterday, it was so delicious! One thing I noted was that my tube pan had handles to turn upside down when cooling. I tried doing this but the tub pan piece was slightly coming out. So I just decided to rest the tube pan on a cup as it helped keep the tube pan piece in place.
