Was there a copious amount of oil behind this valve? What was the result?

Yes it was a lot of oil going in the turbo wich resulted a lot of black smoke when accelerating in load. After replacing it, the amount of smoke reduced imidiatly and after few runs on motorway to clean the residue from intercooler, dpf and exhaust ,the smoke was gone. Also if you leave it for long time without replacing it will result a bloked dpf

3:32 you say 8mm, but what size External Torx is that? And at 5:33 were you able to push it all the way in by hand? Or did you need the screws to make it seat?

This is what I used 8 mm socket. Yes it went in just by hand, just make sure you put a bit of oil on gasket

@@Mr.DIY.S.S.C Thanks! Curious, how many miles on your 2011? I have read that this should be done at least every 100,000. I'd say sooner, maybe even as soon as 50k or even 30k. But all you really need is the Radial Shaft Seal, the Diaphragm, and the O-ring, and you could rebuild the existing one. If those were sold at a reasonable price, but they are not. The Radial Shaft Seal at this time in the USA is currently $90 OEM from Mercedes 😞
