Mate i mashed up a bunch of clips years ago and put a title to get peoples attention. I thought it would get 100 views at best. I had no idea it would be hitting over quarter a million views. Your right it isnt the best video by far. But thats CZcams for you lol. Also, i added game of thrones at the end and not one comment about that.....
Yeah, but it's because you 99% of the time can't hear it, or notice it Unless your sitting next to the amplyfier, that's, when you fall in love with it
@@ohno316 You can always make it stand out in the mix, with fuzz or overdrive pedals. That's what grunge, metal and some prog rock bands figured out decades ago. Also bass is more noticeable when it's not being played or when it's being played in syncopation or some sort of a triplet flow. Being a stand out bass player requires more imagination than skill, which is what the older players understood much better than modern players.
Louis johnson was the bassist on this track "get on the floor" from the album off the wall, he also played bass on the album thriller( billie Jean) and dangerous.
I've wondered about the Rage Against The Machine Basslines how they managed their Bassline Emphasis even though their every tracks they played enough to been called "Funk Metal" even though they each comprises undertone but only "Bulls On Parade have heavily emphasis but still constituted as undertone musicians. I'm also fan from RATM 👍☺️💯🇵🇭
On "Good Times" , you played a C, wich is the wrong Note! It should be a C# (the natural 6 of the minor scale) because its the Dorian scale wich is played in the original and wich is a big part of the characteristic Funky Sound. But still, great Video😉👍
i was wondering about that too - I have similar trouble in my lead guitar riffs. Is it finger striking strings accidentally? Or is it due to the vibrations activating the neighbouring open strings? Can this be avoided by muting the nearby strings... or is that cheating? I guess the only way is to find all these answers out for myself and buy a bass
One song you missed that would make a great addition is Summer Days by Martin Garrix, Macklemore and Patrick Stump from Fall out Boy. That bass will have you grooving.
I have a question because my bass tutor said that i cant put my thumb where i play chords on the top of the bass. Is it nessesary to have this space between hand and guitar????

😆 When someone says "Music is Life" but doesn't know what's the bassist's role in the band.
I am ✨s e x u a l l y✨ attracted to the bass guitar sound i swear
Same. When we had to perform on stage for our Music class final I had to be on the bass

Davie504 wants to know your location
Nothing sexier than whipping out a few octaves on the bass.
Slap them and it’s🙂🤪🤯.
The bass is the foundation, the melody, the soul of music..imo the most important instrument of them all.
theres no most important instrument
the bass is the melody? the bass is the bass
@@marcelszekowski315 just my opinion..(^^imo^^)

the bass is the body of music
The bass is the HIDDEN magic in music. Without it sings just don’t sound right.
MJ's basslines were so hot
The graetest bassist of all time Micheal Jordan
I thought you said Michael Jackson lol
They were too good🙏🙏
Well he isn’t called the King of Pop for nothing
Louis johnson was the bassist on this track "get on the floor" from the album off the wall, he also played bass on the album thriller( billie Jean) and dangerous.
With the bass you get 3 instruments in 1. Rhythm, lead and percussion. Great video and awesome playing dude
Everyone: *debating whether bass or guitar is better*
Me: i luv both✌🏾
I'm a drummer but I recognize most of these lol. I love the bass.
Bass and drums complement each other. When they’re both grooving in the pocket it’s a thing of beauty.
Great job with hair and all the Larry graham lines
Man the first bass line he played.
I was searching for it for like half a year. Thank you so much 🤟🤟

stronger hands, stronger sense of rhythm, actual awareness of whats going on in the song

I can feel the funk baby, right on!
i always associated that first bass line with rapper's delight and didn't realize it was actually from the song good times

Lots of Louis Johnson in there. Did I not hear Forget Me Nots or Glide, or any Slave?
