Guys, if it doesn't work, make sure that you:
    - selected in the right order, and everything you need is selected
    - have no hidden meshes (delete or disable from rendering)
    - did a uv map for the low poly mesh
    - set the extrusion to 34mm (0.034m)
    - the objects are in the same place and same rotation (and applied all transforms too)

    • @8D2BFREE

Normal maps never work for me. I've been a 3d artist for almost 2 years now and only once has a normal map bake ever worked. Im cursed. Tried again today. My map looks fine but I don't see it in my viewport. This problem isn't just in blender though. I can't bake anything in substance painter either. Even when my teachers give it a try, they can never get normal maps to bake properly for me. Truly cursed😭😂

Hey jaynam. I really like your tutorials. And they helped me out in dozens of situations.
On question i have there. Do you consider to make a tutorial for some troubleshooting?
For example the green/yellow/brown artifacts, that sometimes appear on a normal map after baking.
I looked the whole day for good solutions or workarounds, but its pretty rare to find good input.
Alot of stuff can go wrong with more advanced meshes when it comes to baking. So you help would be appreciated by a lot of people i guess!! :D
Keep going with your awesome work.

Either I click bake on Cycles or I click bake on JBake. Where's the difference?
Both require me to create the texture nodes and select both objects separately.
So the addon doesn't make any work easier.
And both of these methods don't work.

I have bumps on my high poly mesh that are similar in height to yours (a few centimeters). I've tried setting my extrusion value to this when I'm baking my normal map, but the bumps appear to get cut off. I have to up my extrusion to 1 meter to get it to work correctly (about 20x bigger than my bumps). Any idea what's going on here? I'm starting from a brand new project -- completely from scratch.
Edit: I just needed to apply the scale for my object!

I am new to Blender and this is the one part I am stuck on. I have done the UV unwrapping and I am stumped trying to make the parts show on the normal map (it always comes out more flat than my 1st gf). Any help would be appreciated.
