Talon at the 7 minute mark, "that's a big ass bug zapper". I laughed til I cried.
Please, before you ask.....Yes, in Missouri, towing and recovery vehicles are considered Emergency Vehicles and can run red/blue lights and sirens when requested to "EXPEDITE" by an authorized agency. Also, we aren't given the reason why we are requested to EXPEDITE. When we are requested to do so, we do so without question. The dispatching agencies have their reasoning. I know it is strange to a lot of people, but it is legal in Missouri. Anyone that is interested in the particulars of the Missouri law, I have a link to a video where I explain this in depth that you are welcome to view. Thanks and God bless. czcams.com/video/a10si2tvX10/video.html
I think if used properly it's a great idea!
I just asked about this on another video.. every state should go that way. Faster the mess gets cleaned up, the faster traffic gets moving again.
Need you a Q on them trucks man!
Nice to see someone like u in Missouri!
You need two things:
200W siren amp
Locomotive air horn (they run on 130 psi main reservoir pressure)
Ron, I know I've said this before but: I really like how professional you are in talking with the FD & Highway Patrol on scene, 'yes sir, no sir' etc. and you seem to have a great relationship with them, & you're also very professional in talking with Talon & Mike, who are often times assisting you on scene. A big reason why I enjoy your videos so much & a perfect example of how to work & talk like a professional, great footage!
I am humbled by your feedback and I thank you very much. I was taught to make certain when someone is in your presence that they are respected and valued. I work hard to do this on and off the microphone. I appreciate you watching and the comments. God bless.
Ron Pratt love your videos!!! I'm curious how much did your rig cost? It's very impressive
Big_T_1987 Travis what I heard around 700000$ dollars
Agree. Ive learned in my life you can accomplish more and faster when both sides show professionalism. It can likely get him more work as well.
Ron Pratt great respect on your professionalism Ron I bet your staff enjoy working for you
Watching a hard-working, polite American with outstanding equipment and skills is a real pleasure. Thanks for showing us how it's done - right.
He was supposed to Dodge the pole but instead he Rammed it.
I've been waiting for the right time to use a similar title. I've had several recently that could qualify. I decided to go with the title I have on this video due to the circumstances. Soon.....very soon. Dodge Rammed It....will be coming to CZcams. Thanks and God bless.
Ron Pratt your vids are awsome best recovery btw
Mark G how do u know
Mark G how do u know that
It's obvious. If he Dodged it, he would not have the big dent in his bumper from Ramming it.
The wet, sloppy and throughly unpleasant weather almost makes me happy I live in Phoenix. Here there is so little rainfall the trees chase the dogs
Apparently some of you missed the video explaining that in some states it is legal to have sirens. Missouri is one. This was definitely considered an emergency!
Yes. This was definitely an emergency. That was a state highway and the authorities had it shut down until the utility lines and pole were repaired. Where I went around the Sheriff's Suburban, there is another set of utility lines that run the opposite direction and go under the damaged lines. Had the two sets of lines come into contact.......
Ron Pratt that could of gone with an bang and power surges could of killed.
Ron Pratt maybe change the siren tone up a bit to a wail or something , lol , great videos
I put a 2500lb winch in the bed of my truck to load my lawn tractor in and out. I feel like Ron when I grab the remote and pull that sucker into the bed. Might even add a snatch block for good measure
Vince Neil I just put a 5000 pound winch on the front of my Gator... I just did a recovery of a golf cart from my neighbors yard. I used the remote and thought Ron would be proud, LOL!
I suggest the snatch block. I've loaded my 4 wheeler with a similar winch and didn't feel comfortable with a single line. Glad you guys are thinking about these things.
Steel Fist. That's awesome. Glad you guys are thinking about problems.
Ron Pratt thanks for the reply! Love watching your videos. What should the working rating be on the snatch block, the same as the winch or double the winch capacity? Mind you this is just probably a 400lb tractor fully fueled with the bagger attachment.
Generally speaking you want the snatch block to be a minimum of 2X the capacity of your cable .... your cable may not be rated the same as your winch. I would check your cable rating first. If you are using 3/16" 7x19 galvanized cable it has a safe working load limit of approximately 840 lbs. If you are using 1/4" 7/19 galvanized cable it has a safe working load limit of approximately 1400 lbs. Also, since you are pulling the tractor up an incline into the bed, you are ADDING resistance to the 400 lbs. Personally, I would add a snatch block, but I like to work with a high safety factor. Too much explanation???
ron is the kind of mentor you need on your job, love the videos especially when Talon is also in them
The linemen did a great job to help you and you did a great job to show meticulous control of you boom and equipment. My late father was an electrical contractor/master electrician. He taught me respect electricity as you can't see it till it's to late. When I was young, I saw a young man pouring concrete next to a low power line. It was misting rain and the chute he was touching made contact with the live conductor, and he was gone just that quick...the blink of an eye. We knew the family and it still affects me.
Sometimes a line is supposed be be killed or, or locked out, and a mistake still can mean it's hot, so you have to treat it as always hot. You did great, you are safe and do things right.
Love your videos, God Bless. 🙏
The wireless remote is a huge safety tool. Not only can you operate the equipment from a safe location and a good view but, if a live wire happened to fall on the vehicle or recovery truck, People would not be put at risk.
This is one of those times I miss being an EMT, BUT, lol,,, Sure do love sitting here drinking some coffee, making blankets, and sweaters .watching you guys safely taking care of business. Stay wrapped in Gods arms, and watch your surroundings. Stay safe. Summer is just getting started!!
Great big field and that pole had to jump in front of the truck....
I think they said the driver hit some water and went off the road. Mud tires are awful in the rain especially standing water.
Matt Wilkins Strange how that happened, isn't it?
Mike Miller You are correct.
He was supposed to Dodge the pole but instead he Rammed it.
Michael Wazowski you copied off of that other guy
the conversation around 5:50 sounded straight out of king of the hill
Ry - Too funny. I love Talon to death. Definitely an asset to Ron and the citizens of their community they rescue. With that said, to add to your “King of the Hill” comment, I would also say Talon’s voice would fit right in there with the movie “Deliverance” in the Ned Beatty “Squeal like a Pig” scene! Lol. “Sure do got a pretty mouth boy” - EXACT voice match!
7:00 “That’s a big ass bu bug zapper”😂
Hi RON - I have really enjoyed watching many of your videos. That Pete you drive with the Century recovery system is nothing short of amazing. Of course, you are the true master that makes it happen! Keep making the videos and stay safe!
Awesome job Ron. Thank God for a safety. God Bless you Ron and guys.
Another job done by a Professional tow operator.
Good work Ron and Talon, stay safe.
Denny
You guys have some awesome equipment and great skills. Glad you're out there.
Very impressed with your professionalism and great attitude. Great team work, also!
aww Talon i know the feeling. Seeing the loss does hurt a tad
You do great work, Ron, and you're very personable with the guys you work with! God bless, sir!
"And most importantly, God bless!" I just LOVE that part! Put God into whatever you do! AMEN!
Hi Ron, Stumbled on your channel and have been binge watching your videos :) Very professionally done, keep up the excellent work. I'm shocked at the amount of drivers who are absolutely clueless and pass within inches of where you work. Over here in the UK the Highways Agency would close the lane at the scene of the issue or use a rolling road block and only reopen it once the shoulder/lane is clear. I share the same phillosophy as you ie treat others as you expect to be treated yourself and good manners don't cost anything. Greetings from the UK
This was absolutely a joy to watch. Great job!
There is always something to learn every time you put a video up thank you for sharing your skills and as always stay safe Ron .
That Tallan (sp) sure is one heck of a guy!! Jumps right in there, listens well and is very careful. Great employee. Thanks for sharing, Lo :)
Helps when you have a boss that actually works with his employees
Nice job gentlemen professionalism at it's best. I really love the head mounted camera as it really gives the perspective of you while your doing the recovery. Handled with class and everyone goes home after in one piece, that's what counts.
Everyone complains that roads are closed off for so long, but that they`re part at fault of that, by not making space for the emergency crews to get through, seems to not occure to them.
Thanks to everyone of you guys who keep the roads save and do their best to fix everything as quick as possible!
Yes, slow down and move over! Yeah, I know Ron uses it for when he's on the side of the road for a tow/recovery but it fits here also.
@@gorillaau Yep. There is a huge risk to recovery workers and police if traffic is allowed to continue passing the site.
Love the interaction with your coworkers and how helpful you are with everyone!
Thank you very much, we do have a great team. I appreciate your kind comments and I am glad you enjoy the channel. Thanks for watching and God bless.
I really love watching videos like this. I hope you continue to do more videos. This is REALLY good entertainment. The content is just ... well ... There isn't anything else like this of this caliber on CZcams.
Ron, I've watched a few of your videos in the past few days. I want to commend you on your apparent integrity. You are respectful to your workers and others you interact with in the course of your work. You represent Yeshua, our King of Kings, in an honorable fashion. I pray His continued blessing over you, your family and your business. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much and God bless.
Just wanted to thank you guys for the coverage on site, it's great thanks again Ron
Talon is coming right along with every recovery.. great video thanks guys for quality entrainment
I have also enjoyed watching your Recoveries and think you and your Team do an awesome job every single time you are on a MVA Scene.
I respect and compliment for the way you execute your job with that calm and professionalism controlling the situation. Thanks for the interesting vid.
Ron you are such a great teacher. And have very much respect towards everyone you work or come in contact with.
15:12 - How to turn a V8 into a V-twin. ; )
This is the kind of long videos I don't mind watching. We never get to see this job being done, so thank you Ron for doing them. : )
Yes, some do get a bit long, but it is often difficult what to edit out. Thanks for watching and I am so glad you are finding value in the channel. God bless.
Always great to see good attitudes and respect among all working personal hopefully the occupants of the Dodge will be okay 👍
I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DIDN'T CUT THE POWER! GLAD EVERYTHING WORKED OUT .. NOBODY GOT ANY INJURY...WAY TO GO RON....GOD BLESS & BE SAFE. PRAYERS ALWAYS.
I’ve been watching for years and just realized he has controls on both sides of the truck
Ron, another nice made to look easy, recovery. Love the detail in the video and love watching you guys work. You and Talon are a great team. Keep up the great work. Also the other first responders did an excellent job on this recovery/tow as well. Stay safe and God bless.
We had a lot of departments there. We had the Sheriff and some deputies. We had NBC Fire. We had Missouri State Highway Patrol. And we two utility companies. Oh, I can't forget that we had Mother Nature in a foul mood that day. Man-made electricity and Nature-made lightning....fun combination. Thanks and God bless.
Ron Pratt is that in Benton Missouri
I-55 exit 80 Benton.
You two are so talented.
Thank you and God bless.
Congrats on the safe recovery! I'm like YOU when it comes to live power lines. Have a great day, God Bless, and, may you make a lot of money!
You do some amazing work. I worked heavy lift. And a lot of "bull rigging". Which is what I would call a lot of the work you do. Good eye and good plans. No one gets hurt.
Hello Ron & Talon. Boy, this was a wild one, but as always you guys made it look easy. I enjoyed this video, Thanks Fellas
Thanks and God bless.
That 1150R is an amazing piece of equipment.
Beautiful eye of the needle
Great job on recovering Ron!
great work. found your chan about 4 weeks ago and the professionalism and skill you have is amazing +1 for you
thats the coolest truck i have ever seen in my life
You can see how the truck has a near perfect imprint of the pole.
Well sir, I still don't know how or why I found your channel but I sure am glad I did. Never thought I would become hooked (no pun intended) to this type of content, but I'm really enjoying it. Thank you for all the videos and all the tutorial like narration.
All the best to you guys..
A fan from Portugal :)
You got a awesome job. I like how your cool. You are an person. I would be proud to work beside you.
Awesome video Ron! Live voltage is scary stuff because it can arc without warning.
Gord,
Vancouver
The public also is not usually aware that many lines have automatic reclosers. Those devices are programmed to try the line, usually three times, after tripping off from a fault. Often faults are caused by squirrels, birds, or other debris that will burn in the clear. A line can be relatively deenergized one second and ready to deal a horrible death the next, automatically. The mantra is "If it isn't grounded it is not dead." Words to live by!
The flip-open star trek control panel is awesome.
Alex Powers I was thinking the same thing when he opened it.
Glad to see you did a safe and uneventful recovery. God Bless you
What a cool job you have, something different everyday. I love it!
Ron give the camera to talon for a tow
to much Ram not enough Dodge
Josh LaRose ford

Snickering Here I LIKE UR (Pun) 😂...
Useless AT tires too
LOL ! I love a good pun.
Love your videos Ron. Get my big trucks fix and an education in one shot!
great video! it's good that you combine patience with urgency while you are training! keep up the good work , God bless.
thank god for sending you sir!
To God be the glory.
Ron Pratt amen Ron
He was supposed to Dodge the pole but instead he Rammed it.
man that is one gorgeous truck!
the one that crashed? or the wrecker?
keen observer the wrecker.
ok but that pickup truck looks as if had some speed and power, v8 engine under the hood.
Tyler Hensley....thank you.
keen observer HAD being the key word. I don't think it will have any power under the hood now since the engine is under the driver's compartment.....lol.
Love your videos Ron. It’s like we r really there
one of best quality informative and fun youtube channels, thanks for sharing.
just curious, could that truck have been recovered with only the rollback?
I don't believe so. The ground conditions wouldn't have allowed the rollback to get close enough to the truck without getting stuck in mud. Also, the pickup was "impaled" by the bottom section of the pole and had to be lifted off. Other viewers have stated that this was overkill.....I don't believe it was. This was performed with an extreme amount of safety factor.... just my opinion.
when i wrote the comment, I did not see the bottom of the pole sticking up under the truck. nice job! glad everyone was safe. Thanks for the channel, looking forward to the next video!
No problem.
Looks to me like there was one spot the rollback could have made the recovery from - the concrete section where the utility truck was set up. Of course there wasn't room for two trucks on that little pad... Yes the pole stub would still have been under there, but I think the wreck would have slid up the slope of the stub.
Rick Reid don't forget there's a fuel tank under there.
I see no furrows or obvious marks in the ground to indicate the direction the truck was traveling at the moment of impact (other than forward). That leads me to speculate that the vehicle was airborne when it struck the pole. The red paint about 4-5 feet above the shear line suggests the same. You should consider updating your resume' to include "Aircraft Wreck Recovery" in your professional skill set.
Just sayin'
Frank Roberts it hydroplaned according to the cops
Go figure did you see the treads on the tire ... might meet D.O.T specs ...barely
love your videos im from West Pains MO so love watching others from the show me state and also would like to say you and your crew do a hell of a job
Thanks for being so safe with you and yours and on the job........ Blessings. 🙏👠👠
Is that really Talon's old truck? If so how random is that?
i sold a car to a dealer, he sold the car to a man, that man rented an apartment next to me, one morning i woke up to find my former car parked in front of my apartment.that was a strange thing to look at.
I think he meant it was just LIKE Talon's old truck, not actually his old truck. If it had been his old truck that he liked so much, he would have been much more vocal/excited/hurt/annoyed/angry/some other stronger emotion about it being wrecked.
Yes that was actually Talon's old truck.....he drove it in high school....this exact truck.
Oh, wow! He handled that very well, then. Nice to know he can keep his cool. Very handy in stressful situations.
Julie Stevens don't this he could use it so no use in being upset over it likely he has something better than a totaled out dodge
Since when have tow trucks been equipped with sirens? This is the first I've seen this. That's awesome. Great recovery BTW.
In Missouri, towing and recovery vehicles are classified as Emergency vehicles and are allowed to run "Code" when requested to do so by a Police, Fire, or other authorized agency.
At least, maybe, you'd finally get the respect you guys deserve. Here in Ontario, Canada, a law has been instated that you 'must' move over for tow trucks on the side of the road, not just the other emergency vehicles. People just don't care and will speed past only inches away. I'm sure you know what I mean. Hopefully, this law will help save some lives.
There is a huge nationwide push for tougher laws and better awareness of the Slow Down Move Over. American Towman just launched a nationwide Spirit Ride, which, I am honored to be a part of. Check it out on their website.
Very nice!
We have the Slow Down Move Over law here in my State. Im sad to say that it doesnt work. People are just to stupid. They have more important things to do. Like putting make up on, punching addresses into GPS or phones, texting, picking their noses or whatever other thing they rather do other than watch for others safety. Then when they do hit a car on the side of the highway its the same old same old. "Not my fault, why was there a car parked there anyway..."
Awesome job and great leadership.
Well done! I do enjoy your videos. They allow me to think about the days almost 40 years ago when I was doing towing and recovery with a 440 Holmes on a 1 ton Chevy truck. Damage free back then meant knowing where to place the cribbage before you slinged the car.
It'll buff out with a little rubbing compound lol.
and putty.....LOL God bless.
Just a gentle tap and it'll be good to go again.
Planes, Trains & Automobiles quote?
I love that movie!
Not telling ya how to do things but for getting it on the rollback if the "running the rail" technique fails, slam on the brakes in the casualty , this will make it slide in the direction of the pull, and you don't risk the tire rolling up and over the rail, especially with big mud tires like that, or what I like to do is a combo of tire skates/ wood, whatever under the tire and then once the tires get on those, slam on the brakes and you're golden. I run flatbed so just some things I've come across that work over the years. stay safe.
When loading onto a trailer, Ive put a snatch block on the side I need it to go to. With that bed went in this video, would have slide fairly easy imo.
Puckgrinder85 I
fellow operator in Canada, I have serious truck envy!! Good job :)
fantastic recovery thank you for sharing it with us Ron happy all went safely.... God bless.....
Thanks and God bless.
that's a bad as towtruck
You should get a k5la train horn
James Vlogs he should
James Vlogs he's already got air in in the truck so all he needs is the horn
That's a good idea; however, some municipalities/counties/states frown upon that...
James Vlogs yes yes yes please do I wanted to say that but didn’t know how. Thanks James
@@Silver_Turtle I suspect lights, horn and siren are strictly regulated by the state.
Another great job done Ron.
Man that takes some talent to do that.. great job!!
too much ram, not enough dodge.
I am not a fan at all of american trucks. but this rotator! what a cool machine.
Yes this truck is a sweet piece of equipment for sure. Thanks for watching and god bless.
Peterbilt has been my favorite truck for 50 years. Been driving one for nearly 40 years. Hope you got paid for that job. Wonder if the driver of that pickup was drunk/on a cell phone?
Gerald Scott Unfortunately we did not get paid for this job. We ended up owning the vehicle on a "mechanic's lein". The driver was arrested, but I do not know for what or if he was convicted. We end up owning a lot of vehicles.....people with no insurance or liability only. Most liability insurance doesn't cover our services. It should, but it doesn't. Thanks and God bless.
I have Good Sam Roadside Assistance. Do they cover stuff like this? If not, what kind of insurance is needed?
Nancy Fahey I can't answer whether Good Sam would cover this call. There are too many things to consider from the various insurance companies. Generally, if you have Comprehensive/Collision, this will be covered with whatever deductible level you have set with your insurance. Some insurance companies have a separate "towing" policy that you can add to Liability coverage, but there are limits and exclusions. Some companies will cover this under Roadside Assistance or Emergency Road Service, while other companies will not. I suggest that EVERYONE check their insurance policy and ask specifically if you are covered for crash recovery, cleanup, and/or towing. That is the only way to know for certain. Good question. Thanks and God bless.
absolutely top notch job you did there Ron. absolutely safe very coordinated job. enjoyed the video. very professional! major thumbs up!!
We just found your videos you have a lot of patience calm with you employees and a good team leader.
How much is a rig like yours?
Let's all make our WAGs, lol. I say about $185,000.
Well, I think you might be a little shy of about $525,000 or so. Of course that is fully equipped. God bless.
what was the fate of the driver? did he/she survive?hope so t
Daniel Malik I am also wondering
He doesn't post fatalities so the fact that this is on CZcams means the occupant(s) survived.
Usually, Ron will say if the driver was injured. There was one where a car crashed, then caught on fire and Ron was thinking that the worst had happened but got a phone call the next day or so to say all was well, just minor injuries.
I love the whistling sounds of that Pete and it’s sharp as a razor blade to and always spotless clean
GOD Bless you and I will keep you in my prayers
#newsub
Another good video and I appreciate your Faith. God Bless brother.
Very impressed with your professionalism and courtesy. Kudos to Talon, looks like you have a great young guy there with a very good work ethic and a desire to learn!
Man I wish I lived in Missouri I would definitely come work for you .I have seen professionals before but I have never seen professionalism at it's best that was a very cool recovery.....job well done........and as we all say in the towing world see ya in the ditch
I like watching you guys work. You make a professional team.
Thank you very much. God bless.
Love watching your videos Ron God bless you bud be safe
Cool, calm and collected as usual Ron. God Bless.
Thank you. This was definitely not the time to "lose my cool". Had to stay alert and cautious. Thanks and God bless.
GOOD JOB.... I LIKED THE INFO AND THE METHODS OF THIS RETRIEVAL..... THANKS...
Hey perfect job
I work with emergency electrical company as a lineman Australia love your passion and willing to work everybody to get the job done fast and safe
Cheers mate
When I was unfortunate and had to drive a rollback I would use a piece of timber along the rail so the tire wouldn't climb the timber would slide right along the rail and center the load. You did an excellent job bringing that out like that. Of course, you don't need me to tell you this.
That is one fine rig. Lots of gadgets whistles and thing a mA bobs love how clean it is too. You have a great day!ps you are so polite. Very knowledgeable and professional. Love watching y’all work. ❤️💜🧡💛💚💙
as always very professional and caring and courteous about your job and making sure your safety and your fellow workers r safe too I enjoy your videos very much good job Ron
