Bonjour monsieur
Bravo pour le diagnostic
c'est l'une de mes vidéos préférées
Bonne continuation
I got the same problem after replacing the maf. I'm going to go take a look at all the air intake tubes now that you pointed them out. thanks
So lucky to have a resource like you Richard. Nobody else would have found that hose leak. You da man! My Passat now accelerates strong and is getting way better mpg. Drives like a new car. Nice work and enjoyed the video. Again thank you for fixing my car.
Thanks
hello there did your assay go in tp limp mode
passat go in to limp mode
Another interesting and educational video! Now with added jumpscares too, i almost shat myself when the red lid popped out.
thanks for watching.
Many, many shops wouldn't have found that. Nice work.
It would be hard for a non-Vw specialty shop to diagnose this. It would be harder if they didn't have known good computer laying around.
Thank you so much for your videos! I had same exact 2 codes, and the exact same hose crack!
Your welcome. Be sure to subscribe.
Im so happy you started to film again. Please dont stop
thanks. Its a lot of effort to film, edit and post these. Thanks for watching.
I can say,as a vag mechanic here in eu,you are realy good in your job.The difference here is we dont get these "old" cars.....and vag here is 80 procent diesel cars.So much of the work here is egr and dpf.
@@va7052 Love that your watching. Make some video's for us! We dont do EGR or DPF or Urea because those all are still going back to the dealer for dieselgate scandal warranty.
Thanks for the great video! Just for extra info... During an output test, vcds will (most times) give you the expected values if you hold the mouse over the value in question. Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing that.
big thanks and like always we still learning with you
thanks for watching and commenting.
great tips ..great trublshooting ..I'm learning a lot from you ..thank you so much
thanks for watching.

where can I finde an online training about the diesel
@@moulayediag3873 My youtube channel? www.tdiclub.com? Not much out there on Vw tdi.
i had the exact two same codes on my alh, p0101 would come up in city driving when letting of the throttle (zero load) and p0299 (i think overboost) on the highway. When mapping MAF actual vs desired in vcds you could see the MAF actual spike when letting off the throttle. i have found the problem was with the VNT lever not retracting fully (sticky vanes). I unpluged the vacuum hose from n75 and used a 14 open end wrench (cut in half cause space is tight) to actuate the vnt lever. Vnt lever now acuates fully, worked like a charm. Love your videos, greetings from Croatia
Thanks for sharing that.

Pretty cool how a small hole can create such a difference in MAF readings.
I would have found it much easier except the maf code reoccured a few times, on my test drives, so I was focused on that. The boost code never reoccured except when the customer had the car. Few other "rabbit trails" as well. Dave Sterl nailed it in my comment the other day. I'm envious of the knowledge you, him and others have sometimes. Of course since he is in Europe he probably sees tons more tdis that US. czcams.com/users/postUgz5vMaMA6x01D-yjpR4AaABCQ

nice diag boys

Thank you for the video. Man how I wished I was closer to you. Although your not too far. I’m south of STL by 45 min. My car has went to a shop where they claimed they knew what they were doing and maybe they do but they had the car for over a year after replacing the engine and never fixed the lack of power and code issues. I have a good friend who shared your video who is not far off from being a great VW mechanic to include TDI’s. We will be checking the piping. As we had/have the same codes as the video. We thought maybe the waste gate was stuck dumping boost but the piping sound likely. Thank you again for your content!
customers have come farther than you to come here. but try oilhammer (Brian at cardoc auto in St Louis)
Thank you for that referral. I greatly appreciate your selflessness!!

In the europe we have the sam engine with bgw code, but the only difference is that the oil pump doesn't have the balance shaft and it has manual transmission.
cool. I love knowing the differences.
Does VW use/display substituted values on the scantool in case of a dead sensor, like it displays some sort of 'default' values? I do know if the fuel temp sensor fails it uses the coolant temp on PD engines, but what about a MAF for example? It would be kinda pointless IMHO since there is a desired value PID but I just want to know if you've experienced this.
Great video as always!
In some circumstances. I've seen substituted values on Maf and Crank sensor. I actually think I showed a substituted crank signal on my 2.5L crank sensor video. (not sure though as I have about 150 videos now. )
i have a 14 GTI tsi same codes I was hoping a boost leak would cause it and not the bad waste gate. previous owner put a clip on the waste gate so hopefully it's fine. I'll keep looking for a boost leak
I have a video on graphing the boost that shows the P0299 code on gasser. Probably CCT engine.
After you fixed the boost leak, how did you resolve the MAF sensor code coming back?
From memory the boost leak was causing the maf code. I probably made commentary if you watch and listen to the entire video stating such. Unfortunately I cant remember the details on every video. I have 180 plus videos now.
@@CoolAirVw just saw on one of your comments saying that after replacing the hose, the maf code reoccurred a few times. Same thing happening to me
@@arsenyrazhkov4559 I scrolled through and I think I found the comment your mentioning. What I said was, 'during test drives Maf code reoccurred a few times". If you read it in context with the question that was asked you would realize the meaning behind what I said was, "during the diagnosis of this problem, it was confusing because on the test drives the maf code reoccurred several times but the boost code did not. " So it seemed like ewe should have been chasing a maf problem but we had to chase the boost related trouble code. Fixing the boost leak fixed both the maf code and the boost code.
My symptoms go away when I turn the car off and back on, p0299 2.0 tdi bre
that means nothing.
@@CoolAirVw the ducts on the inlet manifold were half clogged and coated in sludge. After clearing the intake side and egr and tightening the boost pipes and changing charge pipe and intercooler pipe seals, I'm getting a much smoother drive and more low down power. The vacuum pump is working fine and the actuator moves so I've ordered a new N75 from audi vw as it still goes into limp when exceeding about 2800-3000rpm
