  • Mossdale Session 91 and another video to send you soundly off to sleep.
    While still in limbo mode before the next big push in Alley Cat/Wharfegate these past few visits have given me the chance to dedicate a little more time to gathering content. Once this next phase begins I do need to focus on the job in hand so the work will take priority but it is my hope to capture as much of the action and continue delivering as much of the session(s) as I can.
    Apologies about the poor lighting and shaky camera work. The lens got scratched during this visit so the picture is a little blurry. I will be upgrading to a better more appropriate camera at some point soon, especially now I've realised I can make these videos without to much of a sacrifice to progress. Any suggestions would be much appreciated regarding cameras, I'd like to avoid units which are predominantly wide angle lens (fish eye effect).

    The longer videos really draw the viewer into the whole atmosphere of the system. Thanks for the effort.

    Love these videos and I’m fascinated by Mossdale. Thanks for continuing to share your footage documenting this system... just please please please be careful and safe always.

    Meant to do this for a long time. Just to say many thanks for sharing what you're doing. The words were always a lot better than good and have read them from the beginning but the videos take things up to an even higher level. As always, take care.

    I am fascinated by Mossdale, and these videos are so good. If I'm following correctly, you're currently exploring and mapping the regions beyond where ouroborous used to be considered a choke, beyond which nobody had been before 2017?

    • @simonbeck4771
      @simonbeck4771  Před 3 lety +7

      Yes correct Adam. The pre 2017 terminus of Ouroborous was situated at the beginning of what turned out to be a significant fracture zone. Though I'm now beyond this point, and into a complex multi leveled choke, I'm still searching for an exit point from this zone, which should be situated in the lower beds of Limestone, below the once boundary of the Upper Dirt Pot Grit.
      I was caving fairly frequently before Christmas but haven't been to Mossdale on a working trip since Sept/Oct ish, though not through lack of trying. I made several attempts in November but the very fickle weather forced me to abort on at least two occasions enroute. I will be back as soon as I can to continue.
      Some of the earlier sessions are still to write-up/complete, which I'm in the process of motivating myself to do, as are the last few which the past two videos have allowed me to avoid. I've also got a few bits of video to upload, but nothing really substantial.
      Thanks for taking the time to watch and respond.

    In regards to camera suggestions; perhaps look at a GoPro, even secondhand from the last few years would be fine. They have an option to change the field of view pretty easily, will record to look 'normal'. Will also be rugged, with plenty of options for housing, mounting and lighting. Always happy to provide info, thanks for the video.

    I just watched a video on MrBallen channel of the tragic accident with the 6 divers Jesus I can't imagine how scared I would of been.

    i guess time would be irrelevant as to when you go into the cave? i mean its a tiny dark hole your crawling into, so what if its 3 am or 3pm am i correct in this logic?

      @@ZaReGFX it’s become a weekly affair answering the above type question so please excuse my answer. Glad you’ve a sense of humour. I’ve written a lot on the subject via my blog, so for answers i would maybe start there. Try Marathon Obsession maybe or the Mossdale Sessions that relate to this project. There are many many reasons why i do this but yes the hope is to enter uncharted lands
