    If you were wondering about how to combine patterns on the TD-3 then this video goes through most of the possible outcomes.
    The section boggled my mind for quite some time and I am glad I could figure it out and show it to you.

    Just press Function in Track mode and it will indicates what BAR you are. Press Function + Clear and it tells you the last BAR in your Track. You can even start anywhere in the Track by pressing Function and the Selector key (up to 250).

    I'm trying to chain patters together into tracks, but I can't figure out how many patterns is the maximum 1 track can hold. It seems to go above 64 patterns, like maybe 68, and then starts doing a specific string of tones to demonstrate that it's hit it's limit I guess.
    Do you know actually how many patterns you can get into one track?

    • @Bowwylad
      @Bowwylad Před 2 lety +3

      with a pen and paper involved you can write full songs amazing|!!!!

    • @cresshead
      @cresshead Před 2 lety +2

      64 measures per song x 7 songs = 256 measures total
      each song can access up to16 patterns to write that track
      you can link 'tracks' to create longer than 64 measure songs.

    This does not explain whether, after adding a pattern onto a track, you have to wait for that pattern to play all the way through its note sequence before you enter the next pattern onto the track. The (shit) manual doesn't explain this either.

    Can you record different track tempo

    • @80122
      @80122 Před rokem

      Hey in case of BPM clear no, halftime yes by doing the patterns so, double time only if master is double time and you do everything in 1/2 to be in equal to 1/4 again, then you have the headroom for double time, triplets nes because unreliable to program but possible, polymetrics yes e.g. 12/16 and 16/16 etc., but best is, if you buy a Doepfer A-160-2 Clock Divider II (needs an input from a master clock, your drummachine mostly, or a midiclock in which cas you can separately trigger your drummachine also differently) then use the sync in of your TD3, you can divide or multiply the clock of 4/4 usually by even, uneven numbers or even prim numbers, which the TD3 receives as master clock. This must be done patternwise or for longer patterns in a track. That is the best and easiest way to go, but has to be operated live if you wanna mix times. Polyrythm pure and tight AF. I would not see write to use for a whole songs bassline, but rather for longer scenes combined from A-B Bank repertoire respectively, 7 tracks is a bit too less. If you put two different times from the clock divider into an AB switch you may automate this for tracks by a third device e.g. trigger AB-Switch after 36 bars or so.
