    I actually really like the fact that they leaned into making this shoe a “just for easy run” option. I personally am the kind of guy that will plan for easy paces and push myself regardless when I should just be clocking in some chill miles.
    Need a shoe like this in my rotation!

    My first run in them today, and it was incredible. I have many pairs of running shoes, and this by far is the best and most comfortable long run shoe I have ever tried. The shoe is lighter, and the midsole foam is definitely softer than the V4. Doesn't tire you out on those long runs either.

      Thank you so much!!! I think I prefer the v4; it’s more versatile and discounted in many places. However, if you really like cushioning, the v5 would be the better option. It’s softer, and not made for data workouts, but it has a ton of foam that will be comfy on easy/slow runs.

  • @andrewfeher224
    @andrewfeher224 Před měsícem +3

    Many of the things you said about the v5 (e.g., it's warm and lacks energy return and versatility) summarizes my experience with the v4. It was just a clunker that didn't work for me.

    • @FreshBrewRunClub
      @FreshBrewRunClub  Před měsícem +2

      Yeah, those are the listed specs. The sidewalls on the midsole come up around the foot quite a bit, so it’s not like the whole foot is sitting on top of all that foam. I will say, it feels like there’s more stack, but that could be the new Fresh FoamX

    I bought the More v4 after you hyping it and it has been such a fantastic shoe even after 300 miles. I think the extra softness of the More v5 might be a hinder since I use the v4 for anything from easy to tempo to speed work especially on the tread for extra cush. Franken runners. Tired them on, quickly took them off. NB fan for years but these are over the top mush, unstable and left me feeling it would only be a matter of time before a painful rolled ankle or worse would happen while trying to run on these platform Franken runnerss. Try them on - you'll see for yourself. The More V5 makes Bondi 8 feel like a racing flat. More V5 should be renamed - Over the Top Franken Runner v1.

    • @FreshBrewRunClub
      @FreshBrewRunClub  Před 17 dny

      I don’t fear any stability issues, as these are wider than elephant feet, but the softness of the foam means they are not great at all for anything faster than an easy run

  • @q20a08
    @q20a08 Před měsícem

    Wondering if it's too soft to feel much rocker action, (or stability)? Wasn't expecting these reports of "softer than the v4", because an NB rep hinted at the opposite. Guess a victim may need to try it on for themselves, to get an idea what the forward roll is like. The v3 felt smooth rolling, and stable, for me. But, v3 was not really super-squish soft. Prefer stable over mega squish.

    • @FreshBrewRunClub
      @FreshBrewRunClub  Před měsícem

      The new Fresh FoamX feels softer to me in both the 1080 v13 and the More V5. Plus, they added more foam to the midsole, so this thing is pretty soft. I still can get some decent pickup, but the V4 definitely felt firmer to me

    • @q20a08
      @q20a08 Před měsícem

      @@FreshBrewRunClub Interesting, thanks. I've seen a few people say they could still feel the v5 rocker, and some stability, despite all the softness. But, I worry because I am not the guy who can normally get by with mega-squishy. Even that softer gap-heel on v4 was a bit too squishy for me, compared to the more structured v3.

      @@q20a08 I've just walked in the v5 and haven't run in them yet, but I don't know where everybody is coming from with the comments on v4 vs v5. To me the v5 is definitely more firmer vs v4. I don't even run in my v4, just walk because of the squishiness. Running in them to me is just dead there's nothing there, I don't know how there anything other than for recovery runs! I would think just from walking in the v5, that that shoe will be more versatile like Triumph 20-21, Novablast3-4. Haven't run in the v5 yet so maybe premature in my opinion on it. Run testers and a few others feel the same way about the v4 being more compliant vs resilient.
