Nice review - I had SVS PB2000 and moved to Rythmik E15 - not exactly a fair comparison but love my Rythmik subs especially for music and how they integrate and simply disappear - they dig really deep and are tight and articulate - SVS has great apps DSP but with a good AVR/processor it’s rythmik all the way for me

FV18s are equally strong for HT and music. Rythmik blurs the line between ported and sealed by allowing either to play intricate notes. Once you use one, you notice the mids much more than any other sub, except maybe my Rel HT/1508s, which slams but doesn’t go as low. My PB-3000s (sold) were strong and musical too. I’m not going to choose between the two but I own Rythmik FV18s and FV15HPs and I have a SB-1000 for my wife’s office space. I’m an SVS fan but at this juncture, I’m rolling with Rythmik.

I had PB16 Ultras before my current dual FV18 Rev2 with paper cone subwoofers. For me the Rythmik goes lower, hits harder in the mid bass , more nuanced, and is not localized. I honestly can't think of any way that SVS beats Rythmik

As a long time multiple SVS owner I now feel more confident that my new theater will feature dual Rythmik FV18s. Plus owner Brian has spent a lot of time answering my questions on their patented Servo designs. Incredibly knowledgeable, I just wish they had more piano gloss black options, and an SVS like DSP app. Since my theater will be largely rock concerts i feel the musicality of the Rythmik without sacrificing HT Slam make this the right choice for me. Appreciate your channel, thanks.

I've never owned an SVS sub, but I own 2 sealed and 2 ported Rythmik subs. Sealed for music system, ported for HT. As you said, they are outstanding for music in their speed and articulation. The ported do very well in a large, open space for HT duties. A friend has had several SVS subs. One was either the SB-4000 or SB16-Ultra...... not sure since they look identical, and after that he had dual SVS cylinder subs. He was never completely happy as he couldn't get them to sound "right" for music. He now has dual 15" sealed Rythmiks and loves them. His first love is music, so take that FWIW.

I am looking toward a Rythmik so your review is very informative. My issue before I make any changes is I have not gotten my PB 1000 pro tune in my room because of my home is located near a busy street. When I move I can do a more listening review.

svs runs a freakishly large voice coil in some of their subs, i was wondering if anyone could clue me in on how that effects efficiency cuz it seems like svs needs to be driven with some power. generally thats a good thing, but if ur trying to run a whole a/v on just 1 15amp circuit, you gotta start thinking about compromises.

"If you haven't heard a rhythmic you can't tell me it's better than a rythmik," absolutely, totally agree! But that same saying applies to cables. If you haven't heard just how quiet a room can become with shielded cables. You can't tell me shielded cables don't make a difference. In fact sonically speaking there are occasions where I unable tell the difference whether my setup is switched off or it's actually switched on but just on pause 🥳

I had the SVS PB13 Ultra and the PC 13 Ultra together and they were beast that shook my room and the entire house! Ultimately they were just too big for my room when I got a large pair of M.L. Electrostatics. I've also had a pair of SVS NSD12's that were impressive in their own right. However, I've happily settled down for the last few years with my pair of SVS SB 13 Ultras. I'm sure the Rythmik subs are great as I've owned many Velodyne servo subs that they share the same tech as. However the best sub I've owned is the Velodyne DD18+ which I think is still one of the best subs ever. Now Velodyne is back in business and their Digital Drive Series subs are nothing to play with. Maybe you can be the first to review the DD18+ or the DD15 and see how it stacks up against these 2 companies. 🤔

Hey Kpace guy you keep in mind you had a SVS ported subwoofer I own both ported and sealed SVS sub and it is normal that the ported sub is not quick as the sealed Rythmic sub you have because they are ported if your rythmic sub was ported as well I guarantee you it would not be as quick and transient it is right now . The SVS sealed subwoofer they are quick articulate and transient they stop and start playing back in second . So both brand or good sealed are good for music and ported good for movies.
