- In this episode of "Rendered," Khyzyl tackles a build that he's attempted many times but never with the intentions of incorporating Porsche's current design language. Behold the Volkswagen Beetle GT3. A perfect combination of a Porsche 992's front and rear features while still maintaining the iconic look and feel of the VW beetle that we all know and love. This build was not without its difficulties. So be sure to follow along as Khyzyl explains the struggles of combining two of the industry's most iconic cars and what he had to do to make this work.

Now if this was an actual Body kit, I would honestly possibly look into buying another beetle, especially with these gas prices lol.🙃
Like how has somebody not made the last gen Bettle into a 911 kit car. You get the 2.0T and just full bolt ons, upgraded turbo and APR Stage 3 tune.
@@elmayimbe_the_amateur_mechanic because people realize how awful kit cars are to upscale a crap car to supercar instead of just making an actual fast car
I'd like to see a version with the rear beetle engine lid deleted, with a horizontal rear like the Porsche. Otherwise great! Waiting to see a VW Brasilia now!
Brasilia, yeah
Yeah, if only he got some old VW beetles race cars he'd have seen the design people used to take with it. Another one that could be used as a reference was the Fiat 500 Abarth from the 50s which had the rear lid vertical for cooling.
How do you delete the engine lid? I kinda like accessing my engine from time to time.
@@woodyw6891 By deleting I don't mean making it a complete shell, more like leaving it to the elements
Oh, ok.
How To Make a Beetle Look Like Another Beetle 101
If you think this looks ANYTHING like any other Beetle, an optometrist can fix that problem for you in about an hour. Meanwhile, the rest of us should stay off the sidewalks when you get behind the wheel.
@@houseofno bruh it was a joke calm down 🤣
This series and Chip Foose draws a car are probably tied for my favorite series on this channel, I love to see wild designs unbound by the real world's limitations!
The tail lights are my favorite part. I like how they're tucked up into that lip. Looks awesome. Would be cool to see a modern beetle that is styled in a more aggressive sporty design.
Wow...what an awesome rendering. I've always loved the VW Beetle and this one is killer! I'd like to see someone build this car. Foose? Kindig? Keep up the great work.
corona renderer, compact material editor - yeeeeeeaaah!
Another great, and super creative render by Kyza! Thanks for sharing. Maybe just me, but I would love to see a more in-depth video of each individual process used in 3DS Max to create something like these over-hanging bumpers, fender flares or details such as body lines. The time lapses are great, but a tutorial style video from the man himself would be amazing!
This gives me "Chop Shop" vibes 😂
BEAUTIFUL WORK. CONGRATS.
Always love the work that Khyzyl does!
I love the GT3. I love this design, kinda reminds me of a modern RUF. Man I hope you get paid well for what you do. Again awesome job...
I have just built a front splitter on my wrx beetle that looks somewhat similar. Been playing around with the front of the gt2rs and turbo as inspiration and you have finally put something out there that has been in my head for ages. Thanks mate!!!
Absolutely insane! Love it. Great Job
1:40 well that's because it is. Ferdinand Porsche designed it entirely.
Great design and video! thank you for sharing
Love these videos keep it up!!!
Damn, i sure would buy that kind of a beetle! Great job, looks freakin awesome!
Many thanks to you the designer. Volkswagen and Porsche, please get to work. This would be an instant top best seller for years and years. So if they want that money then they have to start producing this immediately.
Kyza I’ve just come across you from a Hypebear post and woah. Absolutely amazed by the products you make. Congrats man - keep up the good work.
So cool!!
Great job. It looks fantastic!!!
Wow,amazing design! Looks awesome. Good job.
Great content, love the process.
I have a 68 Beetle and I would love to turn it into this one day, this is amazing!
Great vid. Love your rendering skills!
Looks really great but there's one thing I would have done and that is the roof I would have chopped the back of the roofline down like almost 5 inches and at the same time put the front back to lay the windshield back to get it some aerodynamics. And on the back hood I would have widened it about 4 or 5 inches just the hood. Think you should try that I did it to a Ford Ranger and it helped the air flow a lot. Sincerely Boyce
And also what program are you using to do this kinda rendering.. Thank you Boyce
Best beetle I ever seen!!!!!! Absolutely beautiful work!!! I want one if you guys go into production!!!!!!! Absolutely beautiful car!!!!!!
Great work man. I do hope it makes it to production some day.
Great video. I have a challenge for you; design a Tesla Jeep. Take the Model Y and make it a rugged, boxy utility. Certainly a departure from your usual, but like you said, its all about curiosity.
Wow, brilliant work with the body!
This Beatle GT3 is my new dream car ❤️❤️
Nice one savage car man awesome work 👏 👍 👌 😎
This is exceptionally good.
Could you show us more about the rendering process with HDRis/Lights on the scene? how you make it work to have such a realistic outcome? That would be amazing. Thank you!
Mixing an fd rx7 with something from the 1920s or 1930s? (Like long hood and stylish?)
A trophy truck and a vw gulf?
A mix of the current and 90s nsx or supra?
Any 60s or 70s ferrari as a modern gt3 race car?
Anything with a subaru svx?
A 69 challenger and a caymen?
A minimalist 240?
Wow that looks epic well done 👏
that is a brilliant design. imagine a diecast model car made of this
That rear end is a masterpiece!
Man, you're awesome
Simple render environments, studio style render environments, post render process, hectic blend !
Great job! 👏
Another great video 👍🍀🍻
Thats super impressive man.
About 30 years ago an artist, did a rendition on a VW Bug (in Hot VW magazine) and cut either 2" or 3" out of the horizontal center of the car (through the door and body of the car, front to back). It put the hood either at or below the front fenders. OMG, it so changed the look of the car, I loved it. I wanted to always do this to a Bug. Now add that with your Bug GTR look and WOW. I would leave the stock head lights, I want it to still want it to look like a Bug, but that's just me.
I love it this is what I always wanted
So cool!
I think it would look sleeker with a slightly chopped roof. Remember the mid sixties minis but not so drastic, keeping the beetle look. Great job by the way. Looking forward to seeing your next post. Leon 🧙🏼
Shocked you didn't mention that Ferdinand Porsche designed the original beetle
I really like it !!!
I love the lighting. Would be really cool if you could show a little bit about that! Generally your renders are always very clean!
That looks beautiful
I would love to have a look at your post render workflow. What's the difference between your render output and the final image? What steps are you taking in compositing to bring your renders into that photorealism.
You it would be cool to see. He seems to use Lightroom based on his taskbar, but likely does some post FX paintovers in Photoshop, grain, aberration etc.
Man!!! AMAZING!!! ✌🏽🖤✊🏽
GT3 Definitely my one and only dream car.
amazing !!!!
In my opinion this looks like a much better successor to the og.
Hectic 🤯🔥🔥
Best design ever 😍😍😍
80’s Porsche flip up lights would have been cool on this .
Could you please do a 360º turntable render to show off the end result?
I would love to build this. Looks amazing
I don't hate it but I'm sure it would look much better with a lowered roof. Slightly more lowered at the rear than the front. Just to make it a little more Porschey.
3DS such an awesome program !👍
Your a very clever & skilled person. 👍
I love it, I hope someone build it.
I dig it, this is the modern super beetle
I have wanted a 911 all my car conscious life. I have a 914, and just finished restoring my ‘69 beetle. If I could afford and have nearly the performance from your design of a GT3RS Beetle, I’d love it. To use an inappropriate British vernacular; I think “it looks smashing”
I no longer care about the GT3, but this car looks great.
That's easily the coolest Beetle I've seen, but that's not saying much... Lol
I would love to learn what you do with customization because I love creativity
1:36-1:40 "sometimes the Beetle is often jokingly referred as basically being a Porsche".
The beetle is in fact a Ferdinand Porsche design, that's quite common knowledge.
Did you model these from scratch or did you just change 3D models you found or purchased? I model all kinds of mechanical things in lightwave 3D since about 1995 or whenever lightwave came out for w95. I think this was a great exercise because of the inherent relationship these two vehicle have. I’ve done similar changes to popular military aircraft as well.
Anyone know the program he was using to design this?
Awesome! I would like to see the gray beetle, inspired by the porsche 917 finished, how it turned out
That was pretty good
Wondering what a slight roof chop would look like, nothing crazy, 3 to 5 inch, wouldnt want to take away from the beetle line too much. Awesome build !
What 3d software do you use?
Nice!!
Is the software you use readily available and if so, at what approximate cost? Is the software usable by a cad novice?
What program are you using?
I know it would be cost prohibitive but could we chop the hood and put in new glass? I don't mean mail slots but maybe 3".
I love this car but I do have a few questions. What size are the wheels. They look sized down. How much are the fenders flared.. Did you chop the top. If so, how much. Thanks
Wish they built the last classic beetle like this
Looks really cool, only thing I'd get rid of IMO is the front hood openings.
I would be all over that! Do a Awd turbo swap with pdk man that would be sick
I am curious how you get those realistic backgrounds
I know you wanted to keep the roof line to keep a little bit of bug look there but needed to be dropped just a little
Good idea for a show.
I will offer up my 73' Beetle as a sacrifice if any shop wants to build this...
As long as I can get it back haha.
Should try this on the latest VW Beetle
It looks a bit like an updated VW Fun Cup car.
Not sure about stuff like modern headlights and rear lights, diffusor etc. Imho they don't work well with the old car. I think a Beetle mix with an older Porsche, 935 for example, would work better. Those 992 GT3 design elements on a modern Beetle on the other hand could be quite interesting.
Would have liked to see the base beetle model be a Super Beetle rather than the standard.
the best one so far. Simply because no tacked on wide body.
What drawing program is this
Let ous know what your design and rendering workflow is! Thanks!
Amazing talent! Hope to see someone really make this. If porsche lets them! lol

Nice looking body style.
