I love MrBallen. He’s so good at storytelling
He's good at telling the story freaking me out 😂😂 doesn't help I live near a woods and I live alone 😂😂 and the owls at it all night 😂
Murderers do prefer those circumstances
@@kennethswartz8252 ooh thanks 😂😂😂😂 funny. I got baseball bat I be fine 😂
@@kathryndunn9142 you obviously haven't seen the video he did about the babysitting grandmother...
@@LeejaClane why what happened there😄
I see one where woman was called Kathryn well she had to be didn't she😄😄 and killed her boyfriend and feed him to his kids
I hope people heed the warning and don't trespass on someone's private property, not just because it's illegal and possibly cursed but because it's a real POS thing to do.
Also, bear in mind the state of automobiles in 1906. Most "roads" were just wagon/buggy trails.
I really think that MRBALLEN is a treasure. He has a calm soothing voice that he tells great scary tales. Every story I've heard him tell has been great.
He didn't bring his wife cuz she was a nutcase. What a pile of lies. Comical. Not many contractors would want a job off the beaten path like that in 1918. Not because of a curse or haunting, that's bullshit. Machinery was lousy and it would be heavy physical labor.
Did you know that Mr. Ballen used to be a Navy Seal? Retired, injured in Combat.
I'm hooked on his story telling. I binge watch his channel.
Believe it or not Kabir, a lot of homesteads in the US are accessed via dirt or gravel roads that are minimally maintained.
Lol, owls. The sound is a mourning dove.
MrBallen definitely has a gift. I've never heard such a good storyteller. Also (if you haven't already) you should totally check out his video titled "From Navy SEAL to scary CZcamsr." He goes into detail about his earlier life and the crazy stuff he went through. He's such a nice, unassuming guy that you'd never guess he was former U.S. special forces and a combat veteran. Love these videos man, cheers!
He also suffered from PTSD and severe depression and his journey on YT helped him out tremendously especially with his Mom writing the scripts. Thank you for your comment. ☮
@@elkevera Oh God, considering what he went through, how could he not? After all he's been through, I'm just glad he seems to be doing well now, and a has a family.
I live 15 mins from Dudleytown and have walked through. It’s easy to do but if found, you will be arrested. When I walked through it was a nice day but got eerily silent once you were in the forest. Other than that, nothing weird happened it just was a spooky hike lol.
He mentioned the doc cut down some hemlock trees before building his home. It made me wonder if hemlock or some other poison in the area was the cause of the people going insane (certainly there are many molds can cause insanity if inhaled / ingested in sufficient quantity). I don't know enough about poisons, but I'd be very worried there's a natural toxin in that woods that people sometimes stumble upon that drives them insane, so be careful! Just because nothing jumped out and attacked you doesn't mean there's nothing to fear in a wooded area.
yeah apparently a lot of people there don't like "ghost hunters" n stuff going through their property
Great reaction Kabir! Always a good idea to research (as best you can) any land you plan to live on. An I agree, he was going back to NYC- where they lived. His wife could easily have made the trek and they both returned together.
We used to spend a lot of time playing in the woods around my neighborhood, and for a couple of years in the early 90's, we kept finding random animal carcasses at the dead-end of this ravine--mostly smaller animals, occasionally something as big as a deer, and one time somebody's German shepherd, but always in pretty much the same place. None of these animals seemed to have the kind of visible injury you'd associate with a predator--not even so much as a snake bite. Even the crows and the buzzards didn't appear to want anything to do with them, so other than being in the early bloating stage of decomposition, they were completely intact. Animal control couldn't find any traces of toxins in the carcasses, and the county couldn't find any major contamination in the nearby creeks and streams, so no real explanation was ever given. By the time it became a regular occurrence there were all manner of tall tales being circulated by the neighborhood kids--aliens, Native American spirits, some kind of curse, etc., until we were all scared to go in the woods by ourselves. I'm not one to assume anything supernatural was happening, but even as a grown man, I have to admit it was weird and unsettling. Anyway, that ravine got backfilled over 20 years ago, and it's now part of a neighboring subdivision--but from what I hear, some of the tall tales we invented are still keeping the neighborhood kids awake at night.
I remember hearing this before...
I had to take a break from spooky stories for a while after this one.
Sounds like hallucinating due to something consumed maybe through the water source? If it’s that secluded where are they getting the water from? Not treated water, so some plant life or sick animal might have contaminated the water. I’ve seen some crazy behaviors from people taking drugs (me too but mostly I was aware I was on them).
Alarm Bell should have went off when they saw the deers eating the apples from the tree.
AKA Adam and Eve
Lol
Yeah heck with the owls they were telling them turn around and go away
Thanks Kabir as always
Linda
adam and eve did not eat apple. nowhere in bible is apple mentioned in original hebrew
If you hear too many owls in one area, they are not owls, they are territorial, other creatures imitate owls.
Mr Ballen is so good! 👍 👍
You should react to “this instructor decided their fate midair” it's an excellent story, quite sad too.
Yeah, I know about Dudley Town. My uncle told me this abandoning settlement in Connecticut. My uncle lives in Hartford, Connecticut
Kabir, I had never heard that story before, however, I have been up into that part of Northwestern Connecticut. I was with a group of people who went on a retreat in Litchfield. Some of us went for a drive way back in the forest and through the mountains. It was one of the most beautiful places I have seen. We drove through small villages that looked almost untouched since the 1600/1700s. There were covered bridges made of wood, lots of rivers and streams and so many trees. There was one place that did give me creeper vibes, but I just thought it was me. I'm not very superstitious, but it was interesting to hear this story. I could see the attraction of wanting to live there even though it is far out from more populated areas.
Just listening to this I could feel Goosebumps forming on my arms on my back and my head is just like totally creep me out.
I do quite enjoy MrBallen's vids and he is a good storyteller but i do often wonder.... if his hands were tied down, would he still be able to speak?
1:35 and I'm just like, its gotta be irradiated bears.
They are coked up now ie "COCAINE BEAR"
Such a creepy, eerie story. I love Mr. Ballen's videos. I would recommend watching Mr. Ballen's commercials that he has in the middle of his videos though. They are absolutely hilarious.
I grew up in a haunted house, but we never experienced anything as scary as what happened in this video. Thankfully.
Thanks, Kabir. Always looking forward to your next video!
"Hoo hoo hoo... is dumb enough to come here?"
Thanks to your previous video, I'm obsessed with MrBallen videos! Some of the stories are so crazy!
I do not know why the people in this area, the realtor did not tell the Clark's about the area's past and leave it up to the Clark's if they still wanted to purchase it. Because of his wife's condition and the past residents that all had the same story and went crazy, Clark being a doctor did not investigate what would have frighten these people to make them mad. Ask a psychologist the degree to get a person to become mad. Also, it seemed like the Clarks visited their cabin many times for a number of years, where the strange figures in the forest were waiting for one of them to be alone to cause their madness. I do not know after a person dies, to take their brain and check if it has been altered by some strange powers or blood test that something was in the water or the floor minerals that leads a person to go mad. With the ghost hunting reality shows, I wonder if any of the shows will do an episode and investigate and stay in the forest with cameras to see if anything appears. The original two men that went mad had lived in the area and became affected, but Mrs. Clark only was alone for a day in a half, and it only took a short amount of time to do this to her. The scientist needs to take samples of the water, ground materials, the plants to see if something is in it to cause brain alterations. Whatever is in the forest, it does not affect the wild creatures since they continue to live there. Too bad, if the owls can talk and say what they know. Owls are supposed to be very wise. It was interesting the owls were getting louder, the closer Mr. Clark got to his home. I assume they must have like him, bring life back to the forest, to try to warn him about something happened while he was gone.
We actually have quite a few of these towns/ places in the US. If you watch “dead files” the ghost series it actually does go into the history around the area their investigating.
I've done it I came from Manchester and moved to the country side it's a real shock to the system 😂 that funny what you said you be off 😂😂😂
You should react to "Testing the gun that killed Abraham Lincoln" by Brandon Herrera
If you read the newspaper it says Ed warren was involved in the research of the article. The psychic married to Lorraine warren from “the conjuring” movie.
I love his videos but I am very skeptical of stories with a few witnesses.
I would definitely go visit the ghost town if it wasn't posted private property. I don't fall into stories like this. Typically, there is a logical explanation.
Kabir my good friend I've been watching you for a while and kinda just waited for someone else to tell you this, but Mr Ballen's name is pronounced like: "Ball-en" like ball in football. Keep up the good reactions tho I love watching you
I was waiting to tell him too, I figured somebody had told him already. Mr Ballen drops a new video every Sunday, the last one was good
It's a fair enough way to prounce either way, being that his middle initial is B and last name Allen. Perhaps he's just being polite when he says it that way haha
@@Cubs-Fan.10 that's a fair enough point although he has been pronouncing the name that way since his first Mr Ballen video and has admitted to not knowing how to say the name.
Actually, if you watch some of his oldest videos, he sometimes says at the end that is Mr B Allen. It's Ballen now because it's what people commented so much.
I thought the shrieking noise coming from the wife or whatever at the end was our ADT fire alarm going off.
Lol
There is a movie about it called Dark Entry but I don’t know if it finished. There was an indie film called Duddlytown curse that was kind of a documentary. There is also a rumor The blare Witch Project could be about the forest. I will not confirm nor deny ever having been in that area. But when your just free camping always check where you plan to pass through. Carful with too many reactions to mr ballin (ball-n) hear he has asked a few reaction channels to stop.
FREE SHIPPING!!!
Love the video bro. Can you also react to “The biggest legal F up in history” by MrBallen? It’s a British case and it’s very interesting
Mass hysteria is pretty interesting.
Hindsight is 20/20. It's easy for you Kabir, and for us as well, to say "How could they miss all these obvious signs?!", when we are hearing the story from John Ballen. We literally know ahead of time that someone's life is going to go ass over teakettle in some bizarre way, so every red flag seems obvious to us.
Weather you believe in the supernatural or not, Dudleytown is a dangerous place. Crumbling ruins are hidden under layers of leaves. You could easily fall in and have no way to get out. I've heard and seen many creepy things about the place. Just don't go there, ever!
Definitely don't go! There is no actual road in and it requires trespassing on private land. I was one of those dummies who went and almost got shot by a backwoods, shotgun yielding man with two massive barking dogs. SUPER SPOOKY PLACE THOUGH!
I would be interested in any water source, soil, and gas samples of the area. Also, any tribe that was native to the place. I would enjoy an University collecting samples and the findings. Would love to stick an archeologist, genealogist, psychologist, forensic pathologist, and parapsychologist in there for good measure.
Same.....As I listened, I thought contamination effects....weakened immune systems, visions, insanity (brain issues).
Good man! I will never understand people who here Stay Away and think, That's where I want to be! Ugh. Such a creepy story!
Mr. Ballen is the best storyteller i have ever come across.
All I can say is YIKES!!! And if idiots want to go there anyway, well they get what's coming to them!!
I have one question, why would the husband expect his wife to be at the depot to pick him up? He had no way of contacting her. A telephone at this cabin would have required someone to put in telephone poles up to the cabin and (I assume) no one would go into the woods to deliver a telegram so, how would she know to be there to get him? just a thought
It sounded like they had a set date and time. Like they knew he’d be gone for a specific amount of time, 36 hours.
Wait I'm from CT, only a 50 minute drive from this place, and one of my friends in High School last name was Brophy...
I've never heard of this but I'm looking into it now, the weirdest things I know about this state are that there's a lake that's completely artificial because they flooded the area and that there's a town underwater and that my hometown supposedly is where a bus carrying asylum patients in the early 1900s crashed and they got out and formed a community deep in the forest and according to the myth they're still around but horribly inbred
God I love local town spooky history
Why would I want to enter a forest, that's that evil and dangerous like that. Laws are put in place for a reason - to protect us.
Same here, city kid all the way! The sounds of people in their cars, police cars, ambulances, and even loud trains can knock me out like a light. If it's too quiet, I just can't sleep.
mr ballen tells a good story as have watched several. Pure Hokum. Bull S for younger people
Mr. Ballen is great at the "Strange, Dark and Mysterious." 😊👍
Every time I see his videos I feel like I’m watching a sign language interruptive dance
Love that you are up non Mr. B. Allen! He’s actually an ex navy SEAL.
Not sure if I sell this on Ghost adventures or Tom McDonald did something on it.
Or maybe it's a whole total different ghost town
(?)
I have just started watching it I will continue and finish thank God it's daylight out
NOPE NEVER HAVE SEEN THE STORY OR HEARD OF IT!
SPOOKIE HAS SNOT!!
I went to Dudley town at night with friends. I think the Natives were getting these people. There's a Indian reservation not far!
Did you say, "Mr. B. Allen?!" 🤣🤣🤣 Kabir!! Come on man! You've featured so many of Mr. Ballen's videos, surely you know how to pronounce it by now! Say, "Mister BALLen." As in basketBALL + en. Please, please, please respect this guy. He's one of the best storytellers online.🤣
Actually, Mr. Ballen's real full name is John B. Allen. So Kabir wasn't too wrong. I like to think that I could be related to him somehow, lol. I'm not though.
As Tiffany Allen said (very apropos last name, lol), one is his username and the other is his actual name, so neither is incorrect :P Kinda like it wouldn't be wrong to refer to Nigahiga as Ryan Higa or Pewdiepie as Felix Kjellberg.
I'm surprised no one has tried to set that forrest on fire yet.
How did his wife know when he was coming back when he did ? He said he'd be gone a few days .. Did he email her or call her on her cell phone ? lol
I'd go, if I could get permission from the owner. Not too thrilled about trespassing cause.......guns. I'm much more afraid of being shot than, what's supposedly in that forest.
Dudley town is dangerous.
This is a goddamn HP Lovecraft story.
There is a place like that near here. There was only stone foundations left in the middle of the woods on a steep wooded hillside. Right behind a cemetery and the original cemetery is very old. Probably dating back to some of the first European settlers in the area. So 1700's maybe. The feeling of malevenous and dread You felt walking that path. I was 11 or 12 when i used to walk through there and I'm almost 50 now. Every once in a while, i will get a nightmare about that spot. I think to myself why is this a thing?!? ..the supernatural isn't real . But when i do dream about it is absolutely terrifying.
Just wait until you have one of those nightmares along with sleep paralysis!
The older I get the more I appreciate living in the city. Everything I need is close to my home and public transportation is available.
Yeah, until I see some primary sources for these old tales I'm not taking these details at face value.
About to send my sister-in-law in Philly whose son lives in Connecticut. I would think if anyone knows they might have heard of the story.....
Crazy regardless
If I remember correctly, the movie, "The Village" was loosely based on this story.
It's possible The Village might have been inspired by this story, but has very little in common with it.
@@arconreef That's why I said it was "loosely" based on it.
Where's Ash Williams when you need him?
Its Mr Ballen, lol, not B Allen.
1918, so how did he get word he was needed in New York?
Long in time telegrams.
I guess good question
Carrier pigeon after the smoke signal failed. 😅
A totally unrelated question.
What’s your take on south park royal roasting.
Kabir, you're awesome, but for goodness sake, the channel is "Mr. BALL-EN!!" Not, "B. Allen" or "Bale-in." Keep up the otherwise good work!😀
Kabir you seem to have the same pullover in multiple colors. Do you ever wear a shirt? I know that Albert Einstein would buy all his clothes that were exactly the same. That way he would never have to think what he was going to wear. 🤔 if you come up with the unified field theory of the universe, then I’ll understand why you always wear the same pullover 😂
🔥✨🔥✨🔥✨🔥
That guy in the video moves his hands non stop. It made it hard for me to focus on what he was saying.
How did he get "called" back in 1918? Did he put up telephone lines?? Did someone come up there and get him? If so, why did he take a train back?
Seriously, this story is stupid.
Telegram, I'd guess. I don't believe 90% of this story but it's not like people had no way of contacting each other until telephones came around.
I noticed that you mispronounced his name it’s pronounced MrBalling even though it’s spelled MrBallen.
I'd go if it were allowed. I'd bring a friend or someone who runs slower than me, but I'd go. I'm overly curious, and not afraid of the forest or the ocean, so it would be a mystery adventure.
Same. :D
No no no no no
Kabir you need to catch up on a lot of Mr ballen this is getting ridiculous
