I love Seiko watches and would love nothing better than to have a Captain Willard and a Seiko Tuna in my collection.
I don't however and never will, as over the last 5 years Seiko have decided to inflate their prices to the exclusion of those who love them most!
That is my opinion of course but I stand by it as a former collector and half-decent modder of Seikos.
It is just not financially worthwhile for me now!
Steeldive, Addiesdive and now Watchdives homage a lot of Seiko models which is a God Send but some are better than others and prices vary.
So how good is this take on the Seiko Street series?
Watch and find out :)
I will leave a Watchdives Affiliate link to the Watchdives site below.
Once there search by the Watchdives Brand and you will see the watch on the first or second page.

I NEVER thought about getting a Tuna because I thought they were too big, but you have definitely changed my mind. I’m not a fan of PVD either, this color combination is brilliant. Thanks as always John.
Cheers Albert. The bezel on this is superb too!
I've been in the same boat thinking a "Tuna" style watch would be too big and a lump on my wrist but having watched John's video this is the "Tuna" I'm going to pull the trigger on. 👍
Nice one! 😄
As a smallish wristed chap, I'm glad it's our time.

Very close :)
If being honest I am more of a strap & bracelet than watch collector... Perhaps a bit neurotic, but I want at least the ability to use any of them with any watch. As such anything other than 20mm lug width has been a bridge too far for me. I know many like the "tuna can" and the puck as well, but so far the looks of a 62MAS or Willard without all the extra "wrapping" around them has been enough. So far...
I'm watching this while wearing my mid 2000's Tuna. It got so scuffed up I eventually removed the shroud and handed it to a crew working harbourside to sandblast. It ended up looking like a Ti shround. The Tuna is a legend, but sadly like most Seiko's it's become overpriced, and these homages regularly have better fit and finish at a fraction of the cost.
Just wanted to say cheers for giving us the heads up and hands on with this one John, Just received mine from Aliexpress and I'm really chuffed with it,
nice one.
Thanks buddy. Glad to hear you are happy. It's a cool piece 😊
The ONLY advantage I can see for purchasing a "proper" Seiko, for two or three times the price would be peace of mind if you have a warranty issue. Apart from that, I'm struggling to see how Seiko can justify the mammoth price difference ?
was about to buy the addiesdive version of this but now I'm tempted to spend a little more and go for the watch dives. Right with you the color with the PVD is one of the nicest combo's I've seen at any price point.......my wife birthday is coming up ...may be she wants a dive watch?😂
Now that sounds like a plan! ;)
Great video bud, blessings from Glasgow 🏴👍
Thanks 👍
Great review 👍, I've never been a Tuna fan, Turtles are more to my liking, but the colours and dial on that look very good and I can see them selling lots!
Yeah they are not usually on my radar but this one is pretty cool 😀
Love the colours on this watch, not a huge fan of the 'toona' (don't want to infringe copyright)😂 or pvd, but I really like this. Many thanks John.
Fair enough!
This may be the first Watchdives watch I purchase. I really like that.
Cheers Jeff ☺️
Pretty one, but no more Tuna for me at the moment.
Pretty sweet watch. Might have to get one! Will use your link if I do
Bought one!
Thank you. I appreciate your support ☺️
Fantastic review John. Thank you for sharing. I love Tunas and this one from Watchdives is awesome. Love the color scheme, great specs of course, and excellent quality. And to top it off a tremendous value. Oh my ... im afraid is so tempting 😮
Uh oh...not another one!?!? Haha!
@johnswatchjoint I'm trying hard not to... I keep this up, and I'm going to have to seek asylum across the pond in your studio 🙃
It is an affliction to be sure 😅
Hi John, I have bought and moved on several of the Tandorio steel cased versions of this tuna a few years ago which are still available for around £100, I always felt they were pretty decent for the monies, this one looks so much cooler even with the pvd, thanks for the hands on review I am tempted to get one but then there's that Addiesdive Puc divers jobbie which I kind of like, decisions decisions...
Aye. Always decisions! 😁
Good day, my friend!
This one has a gorgeous dial.
That's stunning, and I'm really considering this one or the WD turtle.
Hi buddy. They are a brand I am watching. Their progress in such a short time has to be applauded.
@johnswatchjoint I agree. Their clasp and indices give me this sneaking feeling they might have connections to the san martin factory. I'm not sure if you know, but they definitely collaborate with them, and the work seems similar in areas. At least according to their pictures, etc.
Yes I am aware. That partnership has really bolstered them.
@johnswatchjoint Agreed, and I look at aspects of their watches and can only assume that the same factory is involved.
Haha, p.s, I didn't mean to insult, and I phrased that poorly. I was wondering if you had any inside information on if they share a factory or certain parts share a factory.
From their collaborations I would be surprised if they didn't share the same contacts / production/ finishing etc given how well their efforts have worked . It would make sense but I cannot confirm it.
Hi John. Not a fan of this particular model, I prefer models visually similar to a Ninja or Silver Tuna but sold out unfortunately. Many people think that these Tunas are not for them, but the weak lug to lug allows it, as you point out so well. These are fantastic watches. And the Watchdives site is very interesting. 👋👍🇨🇵
Thanks 😊
I never wanted to like this at the start of the review! And was hoping to hear you slate it John, now i want one!
Good to hear. It's great to bring different watch styles to the table but the audience have to have an open mind 🤗
I think this watch looks fantastic. Great review, I am seriously tempted to break my no watch for six months plan. Damn you John 😂😅
Sorry buddy 😺🤗
Liking this. Cheers John!
Thank you. 🐱🤗
It's a shame they didn't keep to the original's sizing. If it were 43mm with 20mm lugs, it would be a home run. As it is... too big. I had the original, this isn't a patch on it.
Great video john.
Glad you enjoyed it 😸😊
This isn't usually my kind of watch, but it might be now, and that's your bloody fault for producing such a great review. Cheers, bud 🍻!
I'll just keep bringing different watches to your attention. All part of the fun haha 😆
Incredible!
Interesting review, not keen on PVD coatings but it does look good if your into that kind of Watch.
It is a good watch Jon :)
I know you tend to like watches in the realm of 36mm but I must say you wear this watch well. I haven't really had any particular interest in the tuna replicas but I do like the color scheme on this one.
I am like you. This is a little different...and is very well made for the price ;)
Bonjour si on appuie sur le bouton la lumiere cadran s'allume?
? No. This is not a Casio.
The Addiesdive is very good but this is a lot better. No rough edges and it is superbly regulated
Sadly the style of the tuna doesn’t work for me, real shame as I like the look. Great work as per…
Fair enough!
That's a lot of watch for the money!
Surprisingly so... Watchdives have learned a lot from San Martin that's for sure!
Nice...
Thanks
