Right. But it was never meant to be a theft prevention tool. It was to find items that you misplaced, and when they were being abused they were worked on to bring it back to that use
This was already a thing if they had an iPhone, it being available on Android is no different. It's also intended for finding lost items, not preventing theft.
Does the product get used only because of how the makers want it to be used? Or do you buy it to solve a problem in your life using it the way you want as a solution?
Who decides? Why arbitrarily remove a feature because you don't agree with it? Just find a way to keep both features.
@@saifrashid3325 Doesn't change that this was already a thing on iPhones, what makes it being on Android any different?
@@SkeletonGuts because it changes the way you can use it.
want to chime in and say it’s possible that they didn’t work together on this because the airtags could be using a Bluetooth LE config/profile that broadcasts its ID and manufacturer. If that was the case, it’s just a software update on googles end to detect it
Man, these seamless loops really trick me into accidentally watching the same short 100+ times. Such a brilliant way to drive up the views.
They did it 3 years ago when making the corona contact tracking system that got implemented on both iOS and android. Dunno if that was a thing in the US, but it was a big deal here in Europe.
Ahh that sucks. Airtags aren't useful anymore. I gotta find different ways now...
If you put one in the car, the thieves get notified😂
Which makes this feature even better. Now the thieves have to either ditch the car, or waste time looking for the airtag knowing that you surely called the police and they are being tracked. They will most likely ditch it, in fact, they might start checking if the alert pops up before even stealing it, making this feature work as a deterrent.
the airtag, notifying the thief that stole your stuff.
Finally I won’t be stalked by my teacher 😅
🤨
Do your homework ig🤓
"actors have started using it for stalking"
An amazing reversal of people stalking actors.
The implicit headline: "Apple users stalking Android users"
now I gotta get a case for my airtag that looks like your cookie monster shirt
But if my bag is stolen and i want to track it by a hidden air tag, the theif will use this service to remove it also 🤷
Exactly my thoughts
Airtags are useless
Stitch it into the lining?
@@SimonLYW then what? They ditch the bag and keep the contents and get away
I still don’t get how this feature wont just notify a thief that they’re being tracked.
I had this notification on my android a few weeks ago. Freaked me out big time.
That god damn transition. Well done, Marques.
What if someone steals your stuff and it notify's them that the stuff they stole has a tag, prompting them to just look for it and remove it?
Yeah. Bummer but it was never for that
It takes quite a long time before notifying you, seemingly up to a day (the alert time is intentionally not specific). So, it should let you know where stolen goods were initially taken to, if a thief doesn't proactively search for the tag.
thieves were always able to rummage through the stolen belongings to look for an airtag to remove. it doesnt change much. also, preventing stalking is way more important than thievary. get your priorities straight my guy
@@ChrisChoi123A well hidden AirTag can help you recover a stolen car or item but I understand why apple is doing it due to the negative pr. GPS trackers aren’t that expensive. Someone who is determined to stalk will now buy one of those instead.
When the King decides to loop..
Yeah, I was looking for this comment 😁
I thought no one noticed.
Great loop editing! Absolutely seamless!
Hahaha, that cut off in the end to make this become a loop. Genius. Very well done. And great news in the clip as well.
Not the first time they worked together. Remember covid exposure notifications?
Marques is out here giving a shoutout to unknown corporations like Google and Apple
I think this was a great move on both companies
The repeat was kinda smooth though 😮
that is a wild loop, you just keep getting better at em
only when something that is negatively affecting Apple (in this case, malicious actor can use their Airtag product to track non-Apple users), then they'd agree to work together with someone to resolve the issue. Meanwhile, they refuse to implement RCS into their iMessage just cuz it wouldn't help them
Yup 😢
They didn't become one of the richest companies in the world by accident 😂
Same way Google doesn’t work within Apple’s guidelines when creating apps though right? OS features hidden behind paywalls, features intentionally broken, APIs which aren’t used to improve the user experience.
As a google users, it’s often frustrating using their products on Apple devices.
@@SimonLYW really? i haven't used an iphone in awhile, but i remember when i did a couple years ago, the google apps were better on iphone as compared to on android which were surprising
@@silvahawk I agree! Google apps are better. Generally when it's bad, it's usually Apple's fault like as an example, Apple Keyboard sucks as hell but if you try to use Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard which is way better, you won’t be able to autofill passwords because Apple restricts third party keyboards to integrate this feature!
I wish we could go back to the old days where I wouldn't have this new pressure of getting caught.
You might just get a GPS tracker lol. But sure the Air Tag does have better connectivity in some situations
Yo, that clean and seamless edit towards the end is mind blowing.
A perfect loop doesn’t exi…..
Lol…not with the song that never ends ending though…gotta love bro
All the kidnappers have till summer to get wat u want 😂😂
You don't have to force a loopy ending every time
That transition, the seamless loop... wtf.
Stalking went from easy mode to fun mode, nothing has changed except people now know, how exiting!!!
Sounds like Google cleaning up Apples mess loool
Ironically getting recommended to buy AirTags as the sponsor 😂😂
