According to Nomura in an interview, he said that the Organization fights in the Skein of Severance were purposely watered down to make them more manageable (admitting he somewhat overcompensated) and that the data fights were what they REALLY were like for Sora to face in the story.
They did improve the ending a bit with the new scenes and added more context to some of the others which were quite silly (Aqua’s freezing seeing the massive hurricane, Xemnas weakening Sora and Kairi with his Nothingness powers, added motivation with the Master of Masters setting Xehanort on his path, etc.)
I’ll give credit that they went back to fix issues story wise and gameplay. Gave me a new interest in KH3. Also Yozora is one of the best fights this whole series has had.

Keep Battle Gate 13 with a message to the player that they'll need to be at least strong enough to beat that if they hope to succeed.

      @@unknownredacted3513 Where to begin...
      1) It does not properly stagger, making any combos pointless (just like the rest of BBS)
      2) There is no rhyme or reason to his attacks or how he attacks, so forming an actual strategy won't work, and we're just stuck to using a cheap strategy with constant dodging and over-powered commands to defeat him "easily"
      3) He can break your 2nd Chance and Once More without any reasoning
      4) He can kill you literally whenever he wants to. When people say his fight is down to luck, they actually mean luck. Sometimes you get hit, and before you have the chance to do anything, he'll hit you once and kill you
      5) He has moves that are completely unfair like when he zips across the arena multiple times that is, unless you're playing as Aqua, impossible to completely guard and is a bitch to dodge at the right time as Terra. Another is his Doom spell that decreases time available each time you're hit with it, making it downright impossible to break free if you're hit more than 3 times
      6) Unlike most superbosses before and after it, it _discourages_ you from using your other tools at your disposal as he'll use a heal barrier or turn invisible, which is why people resort to the cheap strategy
      7) It was clearly not made with all three characters in mind. Armor of Eraqus at least changed the boss depending on which character
These are just some of the reasons why MF is a terrible, terrible fight

Yes, it was very strange. I think it’s because KH3’s story didn’t give Riku much to do. Riku’s main function in KH3 is providing exposition (often for things that happened offscreen), so the actor can’t react or emote beyond mild surprise/thoughtful grunting. He gets one amazing moment at the Keyblade Graveyard which does let Gallagher show emotion, but it’s over in a flash. The same applies for many of the other actors. I am somewhat disappointed by the first part of the Re:Mind story. I kind of hate the "dangling carrot" thing Nomura likes to do. It just comes off as missing parts of the story. If he wants to tease Luxord as being a mysteriously significant character for the future, that's fine. I think it could have been handled better.
I do think the first cutscene with Master Xehanort was kind of hilarious, though. A few minutes dedicated to expository dialogue, since some people were a little confused as to how the New Organization was formed. Now all the necessary information is there. Was a little weird but I guess it works.

I mean, just look at the series' history with Secret Endings/Secret Bosses. They're great, misterious concepts that really don't deliver in good narratives most of the time. I always appreciate your reviews-very fair, specific and honest!
As for ReMind (and KH’s future):
Overall, I really enjoyed this DLC. Like many, I feel the ReMind story scenario could have been a main story update, however I believe Nomura decided to make it a separate post-game episode so we wouldn’t have replay all of the (unchanged) base game. Even so, I think Scala still would be more effective as a final dungeon in the main game.
Limit Cut: Oh boy... I guess it hurt in a good way to see some of our oldest KH friends for a few minutes, to explore Merlin’s house, and to have Nomura mock us via Terra (“you expected more?!”) lol
The Data Fights are the true gem of this DLC. The music! As for the fights themselves...there’s nothing I can say that you can’t say better, haha. I had a lot of fun learning them. It’s bittersweet that this is the last time we’ll be fighting them properly. A very nice farewell to the Norts!
As for Yozora, I think he was an excellent secret boss. Frustrating beyond belief initially, but once I learned where his openings were and how to stagger him, I had a lot of fun. I do think the fight relies a little too much on memory and anticipation over reaction. While this has its own kind of satisfaction, I’d like to see Osaka experiment with more variable move-sets in the future.
The Secret Ending actually ties into my thoughts about the main game. Even after ReMind, I remain underwhelmed by the main story of KH3. Although I liked seeing the endgame plot points “ironed out,” my biggest hope is that we someday get a main story update. Even just ONE full-scale original world with a solid story scenario would improve the main game a lot! It’d give me a great reason to play with the EZ/Pro codes!
If the team were to go back and expand KH3, it would be a show of good faith, and I’d be so much more excited about following/supporting the next arc. After so much work and heart went into making the game, KH3 deserves to be shown in its best form.
Looking forward to future vids! Most importantly, everybody stay safe out there!

I hope this DLC not only serves to show the Osaka team that they're on the right track with the way they've changed up their design methodology, but also to show Nomura that he needs to take a step back and stay in the director's chair where he belongs, and hire a professional writer to handle his story from here on out.

The problem now is that while story seems wacky on paper, its actual presentation is pretty dull. Making it surreal dream-sequence which makes its own characters question their sanity might help to fix the lack of proper tension in the plot. That... Honestly man, Kingdom Hearts 3 felt like a more expansive version of a side game after everything was said and done. KH3's story did nothing but build up the next saga by constantly alluding to story links about Unchained X, a stupid cell phone game that's still getting story updates. Xehanort and the Org took a major backseat in what was supposed to be their final chapter and the most story involvement they have is like the last 3 or 5 hours of the game which was sad. KH3 didn't really address story beats and plotlines leading up to it in the way KH2 addressed Kh1 and Chain of Memories. While only making you wonder about Roxas' time alive which eventually played out in 358, but at the time was a nice passing thought. We should have gotten more screen time of Riku's journey through the RoD up until he finds Aqua, more screen time of Axel and Kairi's training. We definitely should have gotten more interaction between the heroes after saving Aqua and Ven. ReMind did good for what would realistically happen for people reuniting in the middle of a battle, there's really no time to talk then. But overall for me, KH3 was crazy disappointing, nothing major really happened.

Like the Limitcut Episode, I was also skeptical & admit was scared. But the bosses were amazing in every step of the way. I love how all of them: you really had to think and not have the KH2 mindset of dodge roll & act braindead. Some youtubers sure shown that mindset when they thought Master Xehanort as well Saix were badly designed and on par to BBS secret bosses like Vanitas Remnant or Mysterious Figure when really you just had to memorize patterns and see the openings. The redone music tracks were also a nice touch, especially Marluxia's, Master Xehanort's, & Xigbar's rendition of 13th Dilemma.
Yozora is what you said-- an amazing boss as well. I really love how it basically did make you think outside the box and had an amazing array of ways to punish him. I love the music and made me think of how it is also a Versus XIII reference. Also big props to Dylan Sprouse for voicing him: personally the 2nd best voice for the DLC aside Christopher Lloyd being Master Xehanort.

It added some missing pieces of Kingdom Hearts back into it and provided the ending we all wanted. Playing through kh3 without that just doesn't give a full, satisfying experience.

My only issue with the needing to beat critical to get Oblivion is that it requires you to start a new playthrough if you didn't already have a critical save. Frankly it's ridiculous that you can't change your difficulty settings mid-save in the KH games. So many things like the premium menus, wanting to disable attraction spam, and wanting to obtain Oblivion all require new save files and entirely new playthroughs. Not everyone has time to play through the whole game again.

I agree the superbosses are very well designed fights. What I don't feel is well designed is that players can button mash through the entire game on proud or below, and then all of a sudden are thrust into very challenging fights that require skills you never needed to hone in the base game or remind portion. So I honestly feel bad for the people that wanted a fun, casual time wrapping up the story.
