I went to that shop to get soda, supplies, or pizza over 100 times and never realized there was any connection to THIS Finnegan until after the episode aired and my family had sold our cabin in the area. Seeing the kind of road that store is on, it's NO WONDER he got so into driving, its a twisty road perfectly suited for gripped up muscle cars/trucks

Ok Mike, a little history for you. Muntz tape decks hit the aftermarket in the early 60's in SoCal. They were 4 track and the kids loved them. The OEMs seeing a demand started installing tape decks from the factory in the latter part of the 60's and those were 8 track. With the OEMs using 8 track that rang the death knell of 4 track and the 8 track ruled until cassettes came along. Yes, FM existed in the 60's but the vast majority of radio stations were low power local stations and AM was cheaper and worked fine over, short range, local broadcasts. It wasn't until national advertising became a thing that longer range FM broadcasting took over and killed the majority of small local radio stations. Side note; you may have noticed that early songs were very short. Two to three minutes at the most. That was because local radio stations had to depend on local advertisers. They couldn't afford big buck advertising costs so the station had to have a ton of them to pay the bills. That meant lots of ads per hour and a need for short songs.

I'm not familiar with drag racing rules, however that cage bar in the foot box can be made removable. In circle track chassis sometimes we have cage/chassis bars that need to be structural as well as removed. They are usually made with solid round bar milled the same OD as your tube cut in half lengthwise then one side is threaded and the other has sunken holes for allen head grade 9 bolts. This way your pipe could have "mounts" welded on the frame for each end of that bar, bar is then removable but strong, therefore body can come off later given you might need an access panel on your firewall. Car is going to look badass man, cheers!

52:38 So like, imagine the 4" down pipe as it is, but instead of the little bendy part joining it to the full exhaust, you put a shallow Y on the engine side of the down pipe, so it comes out angled toward the frame pipe. That way it would be easy to put a cut out on the end of the 4" dump pipe.

@ 30:30 , it just by burnt innerside, it gets oxidised and rust comes in due to water vapour ( heat and cooldown ) and acid exhaust gasses.
Always do need backing gas for this for the going better way.

I don’t mind the mail episodes, just wish they weren’t THE episode for the “week”, I feel like if we got a double shot of mail and some action, might go over better, again I never really minded them. Also thank you so much for all the content you put out, you’ve taught me so much over the years.

That is why I run nitrogen through copper while putting in new A/C systems. Flow meter helps. No contamination.

Should have done a vertical cut at the two inch mark on the pinch weld, then bent up the remaining pinch weld up equal to the underside of the rocker. Drilled a hole in it, and welded a threaded stud to the top side of the exhaust pipe and bolted it to the rocker using a space between the pipe and rocker to dissipate heat . To get the end of the exhaust pipe equal rounded oval ends, put nuts of the desired opening size by the rounded ends when compressing the pipe.

You should build some little 4" add-ons "tips" to bolt on when you take the 90s off. 🤙

If i remember correctly, they had an in dash record player. 8 tracks came a few years later. Cassettes were mid 70s and cds were late 80s. FM wasnt common until the early 70s.
