I have a 2012 mazda3 2.5L S. I purposely got the last model of mazda3 before they went skyactive technology with the intention to modify.
I am going to replace headers with a catless MSDS 4-1 which i already have. This will delete the first cat found in OEM headers.
Whilst putting the new header in i want to replace the remaining/second cat (and resonator further down the line). I have considered magnaflow cats, they are at the top of my list for options.
I have a concern that replacing the cat wont give me any back pressure. Is this a valid concern? Would a non 'hi-flow' cat be the best option? Will a non hi-flow cat provide better performance/engine breathability than the stock OEM?
Can you recommend a 2.5 inch entry and exit cat to suit my purposes?
