I wish he would’ve fought Giorgio Peteosyan, and I would be rootin for the greatest kickboxer ever. Petrosyan was the perfect kickboxer. He had lightning speed. He had impressive maneuverability and agility and would evade 19/20 punches and kicks thrown his way. He had pinpoint accuracy. He had power. He was aggressive. He textbook perfect technique. He had a mind for strategy and tactical attacks. Peteosyan was the perfect blend of every attribute a real fight NEEDS to possess to be great

this should be motivating to everyone. if your a true tate fan you know that him and his gf of 4 years broke up and he was extremely heartbroken and he took all that pain and trauma and turned it into becoming a kickboxing champion training 3 times a day

He had a really awkward, uncoordinated, beginner style with the hands all over the place and the chin up but he does score higher than his opponent.
Yeah weird AF innit, seems to work for him though. Just looking at them, the opponent looked much more experienced but the results speak for themselves.
super weird and unorthodox style, but man he made it work at a level it really shouldn't have worked anymore, so that does show how good he was.

Actually a great kickboxing champion.
Andrew has sight issue that's why he always fought with his guard a little bit down.
I really like Tate and have been listening to him a lot, still it's crazy how much his chin sticks out in his stance and his head flaps about like he's not used to being hit or sparred much.
I have no idea about kickboxing but the opponents chin is tucked and seems to have much better form but it's literally what works for you and Andrew is a beast.

Every fighter has their unique style
Because it's defensive not offensive. I'm no expert either but I've done a fair bit of Thai boxing and setting up the kick applies to round house kicks. Teeps are used more like jabs to keep range. He uses the side kick like a teep. Moreover this is kickboxing so I believe the rule set limits catching although I could be wrong. Lastly, principles like the one you are referring to are general. Not without exception. Breaking the rules increases your risk but as it is not what your opponent is most used to seeing it also increases your potential reward.

Nope. Boxing and kickboxing are wildly different sports and tates stance, guard and parries are all wrong for regular boxing. Tate would beat jake in a kickboxing match, probably by brutal ko but in a boxing match tate would end up like tyron Woodley
@Numpty being that I'm a boxer, I know tate can't box. Anyone who boxes and has sparred kickboxers knows the 2 sports are night and day.
@Numpty I call bs on the boxing because you should've immediately picked up on the red flags in tates stance, especially his chin, guard and how squared up he is.
Whoever your coach is doesn't do boxing as a primary sport or had a career in It. Plus, tates orbital bone has been shattered. He himself has said he has bad eyes.

I honestly feel his opponent did better 🤷🏽♂️. Landed cleaner punches and had Tate on wobbly legs after that head kick landed flush
I remember fighting him in his cage debut and being confused with how much he wanted to kick me 😂 I got told I was fighting an American wrestler. Had no idea who he was until a quick Google search after the fight 😂 3 months of learning takedown defence that just didn't matter 😂

In my defence, I got told I was fighting an American wrestler and spent 3 month practicing take down defence and had to do a massive water cut for the fight 😂 I was too skinny and didn't expect to fight a kickboxing world champion 😂😂😂

And now, It seems that Romanian police have been building a case against him, and that all they needed was proof that he was in the country. In his recent video to Greta thunburg, he brought pizza boxes into frame, and Romanian police confirmed these boxes to be from a Romanian pizza shop, so they moved in to his residence and made the arrest.
I’m not sure (exactly) what Tate did that was illegal, I have no information about Romanian law and there seems to be little to no details yet released on his arrest.

@sherry356 I have achieved what I want and done many things. They may not be as grandiose as what some consider great but I'm happy. Also my original comment is still true. Tate was good fighter but not great and not a "beast" at all.
