@@ronaldrenearmstrong9872If the Hawks are moving on from Capela, it would make sense for Sarr to 1st and the Hawks really don’t need another wing with Hunter, Bey and Johnson.
Like everyone else, I go back and forth on this draft. The folks doing mock drafts are all over the place and everyone in front of SA at the 4th pick have multiple needs. So I am going to make some assumptions. First assumption is that SA does not try to move up in the draft which is probably the only way Starr or Risacher become available to SA. At 4, I’m warming to the idea of taking Castle. He’s big, he provides defense, his shot needs work but it isn’t broken. The issue with this pick is that I don’t see him as immediate help and it is tough to pick someone at 4 who isn’t projected to step in immediately. SA would really need to believe in his upside to pick him at 4 and even then, getting a vet guard would still be needed (CP3???). Overall, given all the flaws of the available guards, I’d look to free agency to get a relatively young PG. Salaun would be an interesting pick at 8 and would likely be available as well. My issue is not with his upside, but his ability to contribute from Day 1. Again, SA would have to believe in both his upside AND how quickly they could get him on the court. These would be my picks today, if SA keeps both picks. But if the right vet becomes available at the right price, getting a vet PG is the way to go. That immediately improves your first and second unit because Trae would now be running the second unit.

I'm fine drafting Castle if we get Risacher too. Mainly because Spurs desperately need shooting as well. If you see the Wolves and OKC not only they worked on their defense, they're also on top when it comes to 3pt shooting.
Spurs will draft Salaün at 8. And he is not raw I disagree. Not easy to write everything about him here but in France many considers that his ceiling is unknown yet and could be much higher than Risacher
SALAUN is a big boy at 18 and can move like an athletic wing. Realistically I see Spurs going after Dilly and SALAUN. Matas and Knecht will be gone at 8 and Cody is not heavy enough. For pure PG I like Castle’s teammate Tristan Newton more than Castle. The kid can shoot, defend, athletic, scorer, and playmaker. If I was GM for the day I would pick Dilly or Shepard at 4, Salaun at 8, swap up the first second round pick plus next year’s second to move up and get Ryan Dunn late first round. Then swap the second second round pick with another team plus a second from next year to move up again and get Tristan Newton
That gives us either Sarr or Risacher. I’ll take either and I would trade up because spurs thinking they’re getting Cooper the draft after this one coming up is not going to happen. Considering how the Spurs played in their final 2023-2024 season stretch I think they can be a team around a .500 winning percentage with just slight upgrades. They don't need whoever they add to be like Anthony Edwards, Stephen Curry, or the young Chris Paul. All they need is someone solid who will complement the superstar they already have in Victor Wembanyama along with a healthy Devin Vassell, a better-scoring Jeremy Sochan, and a much improved Dominick Barlow. The great defender Jeremy becoming also a great scorer will alone be a great boost for the Spurs. I anticipate that next season he will be much better offensively given his demonstrably good work ethic that resulted in him improving his free throw shooting in the middle of the 2023-2024 season. You just know he is working on his offensive game right now.

We are not getting Cooper Flagg next ain’t happening. Everything has to align perfectly and I don’t see it happening. Move up to get Sarr and Risacher. Go all out now.
Forget Castle. He couldn't make first string PG on his own team so it's pretty obvious the coaches must have spotted a serious hole in his game. Not to mention the whole bad attitude thing in his approach to working out for any teams that might want him. And from what I hear, his 3 pt shooting sucks. Basically, there are no really good PG prospects in this draft, they are all flawed in one way or another. I like Risacher, but look at the numbers that Champagnie and Cissoko put up last year, quietly they put up some nice numbers and for very young players I think they did well and hold a lot of good prospects for their futures. Either one could have a really good year next year if they grow just a bit. Frankly, I don't think we need Risacher and what would be a big time contract to support for such a high draft pick. My best case, the Spurs trade out of the draft for a player like Garland from the Cavs. They might bite on 4 and 8 for Garland and a couple players like Johnson and ?? to make the $ right. Then, we'd have something potentially really good coming out of the draft. (wasn't Garland an All-Star a year or two ago?)
@@TSRSports50 If the Spurs want to become competitive, they're going to have to spend. I think they can absorb a high 30's long term contract like Garland's after unloading a few guys in the trade. And he's still young, he fits and he's coming off a down year after they brought in Donovan Mitchell so they may be willing to trade.
Spurs screwed up by not getting Atlanta's #1 this year. Holland is better pick at 4 than Castle. Blake Wesley has one more year to prove he is the future PG for the Spurs.

Castle will be gone at 2 to Dc for some reason spur fans act like Dc not in need of a point guard.
Garland has a huge contract though...
I have zero clue who they should pick
RICH!!!
JOE!!
Spurs screwed up by not getting Atlanta's #1 this year. Holland is better pick at 4 than Castle. Blake Wesley has one more year to prove he is the future PG for the Spurs.
This is a question for anybody really. What does Castle play at the NBA, two guard? The 3? Just feedback
he's been saying he wants to go to a team that would let him play point guard
@@BABYTREE123 yeah thats not happening. But other than his desire to play the point what is he. I know in the positionless NBA of today it doesn't really matter but my guess he would be a 3. But just wanted to see what others thought of.
We think al8ke RICH
Yeah, those two names keep coming up.
Wow, we have so many draft picks in the next few years, and so many guys in the pipeline already, that the Spurs could wind up having dynasties with TWO groups of players (but all with Wemby)! Of course, the rest of the league won’t be just contemplating their navels.
First
I want Rob
at 8 its ok for rob , not 4
@@sosa_3603 just don’t want Topic. Kentucky guards have pan out way better in the nba than European guards.
@@GiverOfEnergy doncic would not agree with this ...
@@sosa_3603 we can name 10+ Kentucky guards that game translate and are allstars or near allstar level. Luka is generational once in a lifetime even as a prospect. Euroleague mvp & champion at 18. Don’t compare Topic to Luka. We can name ALOT of euro guards that didn’t pan out than the ones that did. Which that’s a short list.
@@GiverOfEnergy Exactly i dont trust European prospects like Topic, Risacher and even Sarr. All 3 of those players seem like role players at best i do not see All Start potential in any of them. Sarr ceiling is probabily the highest at like Evan Mobley but is that the type of player that can make the All Star team i dont think so.
Let's be a little real here. This is the weakest draft class in years. There is NO CHANCE in blue hell that the Spurs are trading assets to MOVE UP in a weak ass draft class. That makes ZERO sense. If anything, look to possible move up in next years draft, since I don't think the Spurs will be a lottery team again next year.
The perfect draft would be the UCONNection, Clingan and Castle
I just don’t see it with Risacher as a top 3 pick, he’s a 3&D guy who can’t create or put it on the floor consistently. If he’s not catching and shooting he’s not a huge impact player
Risacher will be gone before 4, I say Castle at 4 and Dilly at 8.
2 PG? 😧
2 pg dude , be serious
No Castle will be gone at 2 to Dc Risacher will be available
@@sosa_3603 Castle/Dillingham would be a good outcome. Means they aren’t trying to jam the square peg into the round hole by sticking Castle at point full time.
@@RighteousRhythm wyd with Jones . vassel and the others ?
This draft sucks
