I agree wish he would post more on this. I have a 2005 Kodiak C5500 with a 5.9 24 valve 275 HP out of a RV. And if and when it bites the dust. Next motor will be a 8.9 with a RTO-6613 behind it. I have enough room to stand in front of the 5.9 and 18" Above it. so room is no issue. Video of it @ 2005 Kodiak with cummins on here
+Pete kildow Wouldn't a CAT C7 have been an easier swap? As in bolt-in with electronics? This ISL build which I've now seen photos of the build process. Dude had to strip down to bare rails and do hack hack everywhere to get the ISL to fit. I still don't know how he managed to get it to work. I mention torque twisting the frame, but the engine weighs a ton, literally. Maybe as mentioned above, removing the full authority electronics and going old 6CTA on it (which is what the ISL is, a bored out 6C, the L10 turned into the M11/ISM11)
Hey clean looking truck! Looks to be electronic fan controlled? looking at doing a custom build myself. Is that P-7100 pump on that motor?. If so where did you get the conversion kit? Thanks
Regarding the 4-53 in your old GMC, I'm looking for a diesel to swap into my 91' s10 when the 2.8 it has now burns out. How well would it fit? That sure would be a cool swap but I'm not much into cowls, so would it be too tall. If you could guess...
So this is a p-pumped 8.9, and you say it has a jake brake. And it's in a Chevy 3500? Do you have a build thread of this on a forum anywhere. I'd love to see how this all came together!!!
I take it this has to be a low output isL. 1100 foot pounds of torque would twist that frame into a pretzel. Not to mention it would ruin the clutch on your transmission
more more more!!!! i like they need more 8.3 to 8.9 swaps in these older trucks.
When do we get to see a video of this thing Jaking?
Ok, show us MORE ! Thanks for the "Teaser" by the way !

Yeah had probs with a few things. So had to pull combo. At that point I made the mistake of ISl and 9513 swap lol. Lot of work but more than awesome.

Nice fit. Looking forward to seeing it put through the gears.
Do you have any photos of the 8.3 swap I'm wanting to do the same thing to my 3500 hd
Did you have to do a body lift to install the isl
@19504x4 haha your right. Burned out from it can't believe I even got it posted lol. Whatever I can still spell Detroit diesel. It's in a Chevy hd.
You gonna put some Jake's on that beast.... was it alot of work to get the p7100 to work?
Update on this? :D
Is that the 3500 that had the 6bt?

Never was an issue with my built 5.9 ram. South Bend clutch, billet input shaft in an nv5600... My best dyno was 653hp and 1230ft lb.
You realize there are thousands of light-duty pickups riding around with over 1100 lb-ft of torque, right?
Brian is just a hater.
@@iceman7273 yeah definitely a armchair quarterback
