- This is a review of the Bambu X1 Carbon 3D Printer with AMS. So far I have been using this printer for a few projects and it's crazy how fast it can print and the print quality. I've wanted to print nylon for a while now and this printer lets me do it, specifically for surfboard fins.

This was the first time I came across your channel. Great review of the printer! I got mine just a few weeks ago, and it's been great! I use mine for functional/engineering prints that I design myself, much like it sounds like you do.
I made some assumptions at the start, thinking you were probably located in Hawaii or California since you were printing surfboard fins. Imagine my surprise at the end when you implied you were in Canada! I didn't even know there was surfing in Canada!
What a great review/intro! many thanks.
Keep going! Love your channel. Greetings from Germany
What a cool printer…….always enjoy watching your stuff many thanks…👍🏻🇬🇧
Awesome thanks!
Magigoo better be actual literal magic for the price vs. gluestick and damp rag
You can try lowering you bed temp for nylon, set initial layer temp to a high temp like 100c then drop it down to like 35c. It helps with nylon warping.
Thanks for the tip, will give that a try. I also got some new bed adhesion interface glue.
Thanks for your thoughts on the printer. I just ordered the P1S , hopefully it was worth it. I really need a printer that works.
You won't be disappointed.
I just picked up my first P1S Printer (had 10 other printers from different brands), and this was a HUGE leap forward into the "just works" territory. The only issues I've had were running terrible quality filament, brand and old, I was trying to use up through the AMS system. So I'll save that old junk for the standalone A1 I ordered; as there is less to go wrong in that setup for cleanup/clogs.
Awesome, my buddy loves his P1S and he's been using it for months now.
Have you noticed severe shaking on your table produced by movement of the printer? I am considering getting the same 3D printer and set it up on those adjustable wire racks but not sure if the rack would be solid enough to hold printer vibration.
I've been printing my fins in PETG on a creality max in horizontal orientation as a one piece with supports and the bed side is hard to clean the supports off and makes that side look terrible but the fins are extremely strong with 75% infill in TriHexagon, I also own a CR30 belt printer and again printed them horizontally but the supports would often go wrong and mess up the print because of the curved edges and it was very frustrating, so for the past month or so I have been considering purchasing the X1 Carbon because as you state in the video it just gets on and prints without too much messing about. I saw that you printed yours standing up and thought that it would be vulnerable to the stresses and forces from turning the board hard, have you thought about printing it vertically but with the back of the fin facing the print bed as this may make it less vulnerable to side on stresses because the print lines will be vertical and not horizontal when its fixed to the board. Just a thought. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Thanks for sharing your experience, great idea, I haven't tried printing vertically with the fin facing the print bed, I thought about it but never tried it because of the support material, will add it to the to do list! The PETG fins were printed laying down and they came out awesome. Haven't broken a fin yet but I also haven't had any rock strikes. They are more flexible but work well.
Hope the next printer they make is whit the new A1 head. easy to change tool head.
Hi! Made a prone paddle 12' with Eps!! Challenger.😅
@BambuLab should address the slicer failing to work on a second monitor.
What is the difference between the X1 and P1S?
I have an X1C at home, and there is a P1S at work, so I have used both. The X1C has a higher end control board and display unit. IMO: They both print about the same at standard speed (The X1C slightly better) but at higher speeds the X1C is much better. (I am guessing that the P1S controller struggles to keep up?) If you are doing mechanical parts where appearance doesn't matter, and the occasional misprint is not an issue then P1S, but if you can spend the extra $s then I highly recommend the X1C.
Nice review! This is definitely my dream printer.
Bambu if you see this... I would happily review one of these as well 😉
This printer has been amazing, didn't think I would love it as much as I do. Considering getting a P1S and Mini now as my back up printer and getting rid of all my other bed slingers.
Man I want to get one but their so expensive
in Russia Bambu Lab X1C cost 2200$ and there is no support from the manufacturer.
maybe because Russia started the war ? 😊
Made my skegs from abs
Which orientation did you use and was it one complete piece or two halves glued together?
I ran them sideways IRC.. but tried different ways. I want to try them from Nylon, I need to get my drier before I do that. The ones I used had a base you can install them into, slide them into, and so I installed the base so the skeg comes in from the front.. glued the base on with a hard core clear adhesive from a caulking company. This way I can take them off after each use, bases are lowpro enough they don't catch on anything

channel may have died out :D
My channel doesn't really focus on any particular topic and it's not a channel about me, so engagement is low. My subs have been collected over the years from the content I produced and some people have found value in my videos.
