Thank you lots. I really hope I get my provisional this summer. I'm studying with the Maryland drivers manual and multiple videos and it's really becoming simple to understand how the road works.
I'm glad this video helped! Good luck with your MVA test, it's easy as long you keep up with the rules of the road.
I was confused at first but I got it figured out
Very informative and directto the point cuz others has this very long intro which makes it boring to listen. Kudos
Pretty decent video thanks
Thanks for confirming that.
I’ve heard that we must park on right side of the road if there’s one, then cross quickly.
I always have done the way you said and worked fine.
Today trying other way by parking on right side I almost got hit by a coming around car.
The car appeared as a miracle.
Are you saying you stop on the right before turning left? Because that's extremely dangerous if true.
Thank you so much
Thank you
Nice video,
Thank you!
Thank you!
Excellent tutorial, thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks
you are a life saver
Appreciate that. Driving is not hard. Just use common sense and arrive safely at your destination.
Excellent video 👌👌👌
Thank you!
Wow, funny, the Sparks police officer I spoke to specifically said that if it's safe, you can pass other vehicles on a solid double-yellow line. Unless the laws are different in Maryland, looks like he didn't know the law.
Never cross a solid yellow line no matter what. That cop is an idiot and should be fired.
Legally you can't. But some of us will if a driver is going way too slow and won't maintain speed.
Yeah he doesn't know the law!
That officer was definitely wrong. The only time you can pass is if the vehicle is stopped or if it's a striped yellow with striping on your side.
Some places it is. In Ontario it is perfectly legal to pass on a solid double yellow.
Thank u for this video . Still learning I understand yellow lines me opposite direction white means same direction. But how can u tell what traffic is going and what traffic is coming
You always drive on the right side of the road in the US (unless directed to otherwise as in the example with the construction). The yellow line should always be on the left while the white line should always be on the right of you. If they are swapped then you are driving on the wrong side of the road.
Thank you
Can I cross a yellow double line on the main road when turn left from a secondary road? (Turn left inhibit sign doesn’t exist)
Yes
What about when they are trying to turn into a driveway and stop traffic just make the turn.
Well, as long as you use your turn signal to go into a driveway. If other motorists have to stop behind you to wait, they don't have any other choice but to wait a few seconds for you to make your turn.
What if there’s a mail truck that’s stopped
That's addressed in the video
Thank you, but can one make a U-turn across a double yellow line?
That would be most likely an illegal U-turn.
@@garywballard6310 Yet my notes from the Calif. DMV Driver's Handbook says yes, but I don't know the limits on that; and my searches came up with this: "As to double parallel solid or white lines, note that a driver can cross them if: turning left at an intersection, turning out of a driveway or private road, or making a U-turn." (Calif. Vehicle Code, section 21460). I've been searching for the full text of that part of the section, but for some reason can't get to it yet. ?? I'll keep looking.)
Sorry to say so much, but the quotation I found actually says all the following and maybe the U-turn it doesn't actually apply to the double solid YELLOW lines:
Vehicle Code 21460 is the California statute that provides rules regarding driving on State roadways with parallel lines. Per this statute, motorists cannot drive to the left of:
double parallel solid yellow or white lines, or
double parallel lines, one of which is broken, unless to pass another car.1
As to double parallel solid or white lines, note that a driver can cross them if:
turning left at an intersection,
turning out of a driveway or private road, or
making a U-turn.
How about u-turns? Can you make a u-turn when there’s a double yellow line?
Not good to do it there. If you can find a right turn to make into a parking lot to turn around in. Or if you're in a town go around a block and come back to where you need to go the other way.
I had a car stop out of nowhere to go into a day car but there was no split and I ended up hitting him on his right side bumper I tried to get out the way but I him and he stopped out of nowhere now his insurance wants me to pay him 8k I feel like I’m not at fault plus he was holding traffic and on the other side cars were on coming so idk I’m getting a lawyer for this but it’s bs
How about Uturn
Did you figure it out?
not allowed
how about uDontTurn
It may differ from state to state. In California at least, U turns are allowed across double yellow lines (assuming it's safe to do so).
Always make sure it's safe to do so. If you're in a town go around a city block and come back to where you need to go the other way.
Never EVER cross A Double Yellow Line.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@@!!!!!!!!!!
you did not watch the video did you?
Can i make a u-turn while in a solid double yellow line?
@abelmanzano2430 check your local State laws about that. In some places it's against the law.
Thank you
