Here's a video on how to stay centered in your lane. There are mainly two reasons why beginners drift:
1-They're not looking at the right place,
2- the way they hold the wheel.
That's what I talk about in this video. Hope you like it.
Note: While I try to make my videos as universal as possible, rules and laws may vary according to the place where you’re driving and might be different from the ones in this video. Always drive according to the laws and rules that apply to the place where you are driving. Requirements at the driving exam may also be different than the ones shown here. Always respect the requirements that apply to the place where you are passing your driving exam. This video is not meant to replace your official driving courses.

Family members: you're too far to the right, you need to learn how to be more centered
Me: ok, how do I do that?
Family members: just drive more centered
    Me: great, thanks....
    This really helped, thanks

To anyone who wants to get their license but is too scared/anxious, please go for it! Lessons are nerve-wracking but once you have your license you can pretty much do what you want without anyone judging you. This is what my instructor told me (just to encourage me). Remember, driving examiners just want to know if you can follow the rules and be safe on the road! If I can do it, you can too. Good luck! 😊

tbh a lil tip is to remember what the lines on the road is.
white = one way, either lane but approach with caution
(cannot merge/cross a double solid line white)
      yellow = opposite road
      - always go on the right side from your perspective when driving
      - cannot cross/merge on solid/double solid yellow lines.
      - u can cross/merge whenever its a broken yellow line, but u just do this carefully & do it w/ caution
idk if i'm fully correct as i'm currently a very new beginner driver

This is very similar to how motorcyclists learn to ride. Looking at an obstacle that you're trying to avoid is called "target fixation." What happens is, you end up hitting the very thing you were trying to avoid. To combat this, it is encouraged to look through the turn. This is especially true on curves blocked by trees, hills, or whatever. Assume that the road beyond what you can see is covered by loose gravel, a fallen tree, slime, whatever, and prepare to react accordingly.

OMG thank you so much! I’m learning how to drive, and one of my biggest difficulties is staying in my lane or getting to my lane when making turns (there’s a bit of an improvement, but not w/o the stress lol). I wasn’t sure how to calculate it since looking at it by the lines and curbs is deceiving. When I thought I was centered, I was actually taking up the whole rode. When I adjusted myself, I was a little too close to the curb (cause that’s what it looks like when my dad adjusted it for me). Getting vague advice as if you actually have the experience does not help. I know getting experience is part of the process, but I’m not interested in getting screamed at and feeling like a bad driver while I’m at it.
Thank you for the video! I feel a bit more confident and ready to tackle another lesson. Your instructions are clear and concise, pls keep it up!

Another tip to kind of give you conformation of where you are in the lane is using the side mirrors (especially when on a curve) to see how far away you are from the line, especially when you cant see the lines clearly they will be more clear in the mirrors than infront of you. This helped me alot when i was learning how to drive because i never really had conformation of where exacly i was between the lines.

When you become ONE with your vehicle (know where the 4 corners are, & where the 4 tires are) you can put your vehicle within 6 inches of any object while doing 60+ mph. NOT TOO MANY people have this skill. Hence traffic jam in tight places. C'est la vie.

Didn't see many comments where people came back to this video after trying it, so I'm here to say I tried this for the first time today for almost 1.5 total hours of driving through 45-55mph roads and according to my husband, today was definitely one of my best drives yet. It was like magic how much of a difference it made, and I was able to focus on what was in front of me well. My only issue is I get nervous on winding roads and curves if I'm not looking at the lines on the road, so I panic a little and it throws me off, so I need to practice that. But this was such a great tip, thank you!!
