Being a fan from 1998 , but being fully grown now I can say that with a straight face. I've been watching the old episodes in anticipation for the new ones. Sam had the best lines, jokes, facial expressions everything! I love all the ladies but I always said Sam put the sex in Sex & The City. 🤷🏾♂️

Nicolette Sheridan basically played Samantha on "Desperate housewives". They should recast Nicolette as Samantha and do the third film. Kim was great as Samantha but come on it wasn't exactly Shakespeare. Any number of actresses could have played that role equally as well.

She is the whole cake. The show was hers from day one.
If you said she had the acting prowess of all three of her co-stars combined X 25, that would tell you a lot about the show. Although she was put in roles that robotified her, she was the only one of the four who came out of it all as a human.
She seemed genuine when she thanked the girls.. i wonder when things went left.

@@just4now492 he did leave the series around 3 or 4 Kim said this herself. SJP then became executive producer. This caused a massive rift. He was not involved in the films.
I get the impression that Kim was shining brighter than Sarah through all the 6 series and that was a point of contention. The writers wrote the words and Kim was indeed the best and most comical performer. Also very relatable.

Samantha was hands down my favorite character, and I liked carrie the least... but it's painfully obvious Kim Cattrall was the problem lol.

The character of Samantha could easily have come across as repulsive. Kim Catrall made the character truly hilarious. Cannot imagine anyone else doing with that role what she did. Truly unique.

This award was 18 years ago. Can we all agree that people's relationships change, and people's lives change? Kim's career moved on from SATC while her former castmates were move available for the remakes. Also, her character on the show wasn't exactly easy to play. "You have no idea how many men I had to sleep with..."
People dont change though. One person might start winning awards and receiving more love from fans, while the other might be a creative producer and lead and have power to make that person feel left out.

Any number of actresses could have portrayed Samantha equally as well if not better. Kim was great but come on it wasn't exactly Shakespeare. Nicolette Sheridan portrayed Edie on "Desperate housewives" brilliantly for 5 year's. They should recast Nicolette as Samantha and do the 3rd "Sex in the city" film. Nicolette is age appropriate for the role and equally as well known.

Saniyah Is bomb asl “HOW RIGHT YOU ARE!” Meryl Streep is in a class all her own. Meryl can and does play “ANYTHING!” Now “THERE” is an excellent idea to play the “fourth girlfriend” in any new movie/ tv series special! Seeing Kim won’t come back going off in a totally different direction with Meryl Streep would be a “genius move!” Meryl took the fun part in Mana Mia just because she said it was “fun & she wanted to do it!” Meryl can play any part not just successfully.... but takes any part created, raising it to a whole new level. She is incredible!
I so loved her speech! Great tribute to each of the three women that’s she worked with on the series( each a icon in their own right) and such a sweet, humble demeanor as well. She is a real “actress in every sense of the word!” The part she played was so different from her personality in real life but she played that part with perfection. She is so funny too, in this speech , starting off with the “ You don’t know how many men I had to sleep with to get this part”( loved how SJP looked at her husband with big smile, obviously getting a big kick out of that line ) ha! & ending with the truism “Men may come & go but women stay!” Now, that just might have been something her character Samantha would have said!” Loved it and love her!

I have wonderful colleagues at work, but we aren't friends. We don't hang out after work. We have separate lives. That's how it is for most working people older than 25. Why does everyone act shocked when Kim Cattral says the truth? They play friends on a TV show, doesn't mean they are friends in real life. People are so dumb they can't tell the difference between fiction and reality.

Kim is awesome. Her colleagues totally demonstrate with their attitudes how little they appreciate her. If they were 'One Big Happy Family' like SJP always says they would be elated that their colleague won. Instead SJP looks pissed and jealous and Cynthia more of the same. i think what really set kim over the edge was that the three women all started “publicly” shading kim after she expressed she wasn’t interested in a third film. instead of them just accepting that the franchise was over, they instead made their little comments (in which kim spoke of) and that’s when she had to detach herself from them, publicly. if you watch this clip, neither of them seemed genuinely happy for kim. you can call kim shady for acknowledging them in her speech, but she’d be called shady if she hadn’t and this was WHILE they were still in production. the tea is this, if SJP didn’t like kim, unfortunately since she’s carrie what she says goes, and i believe 100% that this was used to influence the others to distance themselves from kim. that’s showbiz and i’m just glad kim is speaking up for herself now!
They bashed her publicly when she did not want to join the 3rd film. They could have proceeded with a series without her and i think there would be no negative vibes if that was the case and just leave the door open if she wants to come back
