"My music doesn't really hit everyone. Otherwise I'll be a very lucky man" He had no idea who he is going to be...
czcams.com/video/iGNHRaS6flc/video.html
2:38 which song is this ?
Saitama Uchiha It's Laid Black - Red. Ed uses it as part of You Need Me I Don't Need You when he's performing live.
Thats exaxctly what I was thinking!
Yup a GINGER
Little did that audience know...
Man wonder how they feel now lol
Music_Lights wazzap bitches! Im just an internet troll now but watchah! In a few years ill be trolling the whole universe. Hahahaha!
DannyWmv i wonder what they are thinking or feeling now that ed has blown up...
DannyWmv I was about to write that😂😂
I think they knew!
Few lucky people seeing Ed singing for free.
I was happy to pay a few dollars to a guy who sang and looked like him 10 years ago. I have not yet heard about Ed Sheeran then.
Load of generic shite
I never hear him sing and I consider myself the most lucky.
"my music doesnt really hit everyone, otherwise id be a very lucky man"
"Ed Sheeran has 16 songs in the Top 20"
I think that's a pretty stunning indictment of the state of the "Top 20".
36 million CZcams subscribers now. ❤
Verneta 40m
Top 20 really really doesn’t hit everyone anymore
Its what happens when love what you do
Today, literally everyone in that lucky audience will tell their friends about this mini-concert every time he comes on the radio.
Epilocity21 unless they had no idea who he was which is entirely possible
I wonder if you'd ever remember to have seen the exact same person, who is now famous, back when he was a barely known street musician 🤔
Good point Swaantje La
I dont think you would forget that level of quality musician in even 10 lifetimes. That was 1 st class performance at free level.
Alex?
"my music might not hit everyone" - best joke of his entire life. if only he knew......
supermanofsteelsv it's still true
"might not" .. know what that mean?
supermanofsteelsv 😂😂😂
Still doesnt touch me
Davis Jacobs whats the meaning behind it
I bet he is missing those days when he could walk around without being noticed everywhere. Bless his heart, he has such a beautiful soul!
i'd rather be a millionaire haha
@@alexc7857 Sure has it's benefits, but I truly believe he would love to go places where he wasn't recognized for his name or face, but just had a chill audience
Dont think there's a doubt about that. Of course he loves his huge audience, but I don't doubt for a second that if he was given the oppotunity to perform in like a small pub where people wouldn't recognice him, he'd love to do that.
he believed in himself. thats what started it all.
All those people were late for work.
Dreama40 lmao and many people are calling in sick to watch this video
Lol I'm watching this at work. Though it is Friday afternoon.
accomify : I activated the Fire Alarm at work just so I could stay outside a while with my earphones plugged into this VID
Fair price to pay though
I would quit my job to watch him
he had such stage presence even back then, you can really see how amazing he has always been
Daniel Gisborne he seemed so confident as well and I really admire that
mini dwarfdude exactly
Yeah. Ed is "performer" guy.
Not some guy on red carpet 😂😂
He is so awkward on red carpet.
0:35 Wayfaring stranger
1:41 Let it out
2:38 You need me/ My eyes are red
3:55 Evian
its not evian its 'all my life' :)
Thanks u :'3
I didnt drink evian
Eugenia Figueroa did he write them all
How old is he?
Ed worked super hard to evolve his music and dominate the charts. Massive respect.
My mom and dad saw him preform in amsterdam and told me he was gonna be big someday. Boy oh boy look what happend xD
Chim Plays oh wow your parents were right haha thats amazing
Yea he love food
Chim Plays Yeah right.
"Told me he was gonna be big someday"
That joke flew right over your heads.
Bless your parents for giving us Ed! If they had not said that, none of use would even know who he is!
"My music doesn't really hit everyone. Otherwise I'd be a very lucky man". Oh well Ed... You're a very lucky man. ;)
O'LUCKY MAN !!
he's right,i tried listening to him a lot but his music does mot appeal to me in any way.
he's right,i tried listening to him a lot but his music does mot appeal to me in any way.
i guess its all about being selected and distributed by a major financer who gets your product out there
Selected is right!
Ed Sheeran was turned down by many record companies because a ginger rapping with a guitar wasn't marketable!
He now sells out stadium tours within tours!
If there is any inspiration to work hard and chase your dreams, its defo Ed!!
Dale Thorley really?? Omg
Selling out doesn't make you a great artist
alva boy Ye it does 🤓
TR-3B umm no it doesnt
@@alvaboy4982 Well he is an incredibly talented artist
People at that station that day wouldnt have thought in their wildest dreams they are looking at a future superstar with millions and millions of fans around the world
the best part is at the end where it says "For more information on Ed Sheeran go to his Myspace" LOL
hahahah best cooment!!
myspace.com/edsheeran/bio lol
he's always had it
B McClintock
It's not as if he wasn't talented back then... He just got lucky to be discovered.
And that's a good outcome.
He hasn't always had it ahah
B McClintock I am not sure what you're on to, mate
Existence Defies Logic
There's a clip of when he was on the Jonathan Ross show where he plays a recording of him singing before he got good
I don't know anyone who deserves the success he has had. Imagine being that young and having so much confidence and self belief that he actually asked the crowd to form a circle and sing a long with him. No one knew who he was but the energy was there. His soul spoke to them. He paid his dues doing this 7 days a week because he had a vision. God bless him. He changed the world. He now holds the record for the best selling touring act in history. By himself they said it was impossible to sell out arenas alone....no band...but then he came back and said I am gonna do stadiums alone. No band. And he sold them all out. Incredible story. I love that he isn't the cookie cutter pop star either. He wasn't the best looking but he had everything else. Truly remarkable!
he is possibly the biggest artist in the whole right now because he genuinely deserves it
"My music doesn't really hit everyone" lol
Dhiyo Arsyi Umranulfurqan and yet look at the crowd. Amazing
Dhiyo Arsyi Umranulfurqan "or I'd be very lucky" haha
he is a very lucky man.
Loved that comment aswell!
tell that to Shape of you xD
So this is what Ron Weasley did after hogwarts
Parker Threlkeld 😂😂😂
Parker Threlkeld first time i watched the video of lego house, featuring rupert grint, i was sooo confused 😂
I literally was thinking the exact same words lmfao
Hahaha nice!
LOL I laughed so hard at it
I’m so happy i got to see him when he wasn’t this famous. I literally paid like 20€ or maybe even less for his gig, it’s crazy. I kinda miss those times because there’s something about small concerts that cannot be beaten by the stadium ones. And he also used to be very special to me since nobody from the people i knew listened to him back then. He was this little secret of mine. But i surely wish him all the best in life as well as in his career. He’s one of the few popular musicians that truly deserves the fame he’s got.
"My music doesn't really hit everyone" - Years later hits millions lol
billions brother
@@malithwayne9492 well said.

Legend has it that guy is still clapping........
I make a fair bit of cash on the streets playing 'Shape of You' on my tenor sax by Ed, so I have him to thank for this.
good job xD
adysaxman77 keep it up pal. beautiful song 👍👍👍
Checked out your Sax playing on your channel!
adysaxman77 bbbb
May I ask about how much an hour?
Not a fan of his type of music but there's no doubt he's talented and its always so pure and heart warming to see someone come from nothing and make it big.
Watching this right now after seeing him last night(03/03/2023) in MCG! Proud to say that I was a part of the 110,000 crowd that were amazed by him and the whole prodution team! You deserve all the success, Ed!!!
It's crazy that he wanted to retire after his wife gave birth but he decided to go back to give his kid an even better future.
I was there too! ❤
Most confident ginger I have ever seen
You mean singer
FOOTBALL AND MUSIC Dave Mustaine
FOOTBALL AND MUSIC haha
even Paul Scholes couldnt take a piss outside
ow, come on please!
Whatever happened to him? Shame he never made it big.
midnight i don't want to startle you but there's a joke above your head
Sorry ha :-)
83NJL this made me chuckle
:D!
83NJL he works in my local Tesco. Nice guy.
You can see that he did 300+ gigs a year before (2009).
Like the Beatles and Queen he crafted himself by just performing and practising. Beautiful.
I AM SIXTY YEARS OF AGE AND THIS MAN TRULY IS THE BEST SINCE THE BEATLES AT WRITING AND SINGING, IN FACT, BETTER IN SOME WAYS, ESPECIALLY HIS VOICE. WELL DONE ED. Sorry about the caps. By the way, Ed now that you are rich and famous can I have that fiver back that I put in your guitar case about 10 years ago! Even then I knew you were going places. Seen his Concert a few months ago in Bangkok, absolutely fabulous. How he creates the music in front of you alone on the stage with a mike a guitar and a few gadgets is amazing.
I gotta say, I don't necessarily love the guy's music, but someone who plays guitar, has an actual voice and writes some of their own music is rare to come by on the radio
He writes all of his music, and music for pther pop artists
Fuck your music taste
His music is shit.
@@fr5335 how so
Stfu u mug
"My music doesn't really hit everyone" ... today: The most heard musician in the whole world 🙈
Actually it's Luis Fonsi nowadays
PS PD Fine, then most heard musician with quality :P
hell no, Fonsi can't pass over Ed's Shape of You, Photograph, and i could keep going...
Luca Schinder those aren't even some of his best songs, they're simply overplayed and overrated... Try Galway Girl and Tenerife Sea
that's what i tried to say, even some of Ed's overrated songs are waaaaaaaaaaay better than Despacito
He’s just a guy that worked hard and loved what he worked hard on and people liked what he worked on, they liked his voice and messages in his music, and eventually he grew a big fan base and became one of the best artists of this generation, not going to say the best because there are a lot of people who wouldn’t agree with that.
There was some magic air
Right on! He is just a guy who worked hard and liked his hard work that people loved his hard work and so others also liked it so much that he kept doing more hard work and it's become a motivation to work hard coz people love people who work hard. So work hard 😆
Even back then he knew how to work an audience and how to get the best sound out of a big space. Smart.
He was famous before he was famous
Underrated comment❤️😂
Next level comment!!!
Omg look at how he gathers people around him
when he's playing guitar now on his sold out worldwide tours do you think his mind flashes back to days like this when he'd play in front of small audiences at a train station?
Raquel Taborga beautiful thought. I think he is thankful for everything
"My music doesn't hit everyone otherwise I'd be a very lucky man"
He remembers these humble beginnings and respects it. That's why we love him today. Don't we?
His music is awesome.
Thank god he didn't decide to waste his talent on X Factor because he'll be on some TV show and have one album from winning the show..- This is pure dedication and really shows that he worked his way up.
Mullin I agree
Meh. An artist being on xFactor is fine for me. Maybe cause I like one.
James Arthur was on X Factor and he's pretty good.
@@raydenbailey1651 but that man having sex addict as a star now. I hope alright .
Ed is basically a ginger Prince.
He doesn't play music, he IS music.
SiRobb he's no where near the musician prince was lol.
Patrick they're different, certainly, but the musicianship is definitely outstanding on both parts. Maybe Ed isn't as eccentric but his artistry is unique in a different fashion. In the end that's what makes them both embody music in a really cool way. Being different but being the same I mean.
And he's extremely cute
What's Up maybe you should do some more research on them both haha.
Patrick --- I'm actually a bigger Prince fan. I'm just not gonna diss an artist who has just as much artistry but in a different way. I think you're the one who actually needs to do research bud ;)
This is type of guy i wish all riches and and happiness. You can feel this is good dude
I think this guy got plenty of riches and happiness with all his number 1 albums!
Many young people want to be famous but it’s hard work even with talent. Ed did more than a 1000 small gigs before he had a hit song and album.
Don't try to change the world.. find something that you love, do that for the rest of your life and eventually the world will change
Wilfred Nandwa Growing up -Macklemore! That's some great lyrics!
Wilfred Nandwa ahhh I love that song and Macklemore
great advise thanks!
Wilfred Nandwa
You can't change the world, but you can change your world.
You dont have to change a thing the world can change its heart.
4:42 not a single amateur musician will ever do that ed. you're a lion
"My music doesn't really hit everyone, otherwise I'd be a really happy man"
Well Ed.. That is exactly what is happening right now
I love ed Sheeran but only got into him with lego house probably in 2014. I was in London for the first time in 2011. Could have seen this. He's so cool
Lego house was on Ed's debut album Plus + which was released in September 2011. Lego House was the first song I had heard as well although in 2012, when it was all over the radio and in the charts :)
Veronica M, all over the radio? What?
Amane Kabbaj same!! Lego House introduced me to him
A team
Well, someone who can sing and play and capture the audience like this should have success. Ed here already appears very professional and confident to entertain.
I wish
Damn that reggae part got me...never knew he was that good at it or does reggae at all. Nice one Ed oO
Can you believe he used to have a stutter...
samuel Jakob clap guy failed hard
Look up Follow Fashion by him. It's basically a cover of Come Around by Collie Buddz
It's a cover, the tune is called "Red" by a band named Laid Blak - you should def check it out! :)
The most incredible thing about Ed is that he wasn’t even born with a naturally good voice, but he wanted this and trained his voice which is just insane
Nah... he was born with a naturally good voice. Don’t be fooled by that old bad singing clip he shared. He was like 12 years old when he sang that. His voice hadn’t changed, it was something he grew into as he got older. His voice has such a beautiful natural tone and that’s not something you can teach. He taught himself how to properly (and impressively) sing but he had a good voice to begin with. You can hear it in other songs from when he was the same age. I get people find it inspirational to think that he started out tone deaf and taught himself to be an amazing singer but that’s not the case. There was a lot of natural ability there to begin with.
@@goldrush18x everyone has natural good voice.. everyone has it own genre.. we all need to train it and find our own genre.
@@geraldmoreno2289 you’ve obviously never heard my mother in law sing 😬
@@geraldmoreno2289 Sorry bro, not true. Can't put in what God left out. Some people have it and some people don't. That's just how it is.
@@geraldmoreno2289 that’s not true lol
I had no idea he used to loop pedals and didn't have a touring band till I saw him live in 2018. My respect for his music tripled instantly when I saw that. He's amazing and this is super cool to see :)
He mentions Gary Dunne, who introduced him to the loop pedal, he lived around the corner from me in a Portlaoise Ireland 🇮🇪 ... mad to see how important that one element was to Ed.
Ed Sheeran guess what ur a drug every fuckin song u made I play in my car alot ur music hit me like bricks
I love watching how engaging he is with the audience. Sometimes, large concerts aren't the most personally experiential but I feel like live music in a relatively small crowd makes some serious magic happen. Ed Sheeran is so capable of harnessing that magic and it's incredible to watch that here.
He's such a good singer he needed two mics. I'm dying... I can't even handle my shower head.
yeah 1 mic for main vocals, and the other for his backing vocals and beatboxing
I love that he hasn't changed his style of music for fame. :)
Heath Hensley thats his very trademark, like what distuingishes him from other artist. So when you hear a song you havent heard before you would go like. Oh its Ed Sheeran
He has imo, look back at Divide and his older albums, imo I like his music from around 2010 better.
He was younger then.
Take him back to when
Tänßi he found his heart and broke it
There made freinds and lost them through the years
And he's not seen the roaring fields in so long, I know he's grown
But he can’t wait to go home
Strangely got so emotional at 3:45 when everyone sang along to "You need me man I don't need you". He deserves every bit of success, such a wonderful artist and humble guy.
just imagine how proud those ppl are when they hear his track at no. 1... like "hey I watched that dude at the train station that day I was late"
That failed clap attempt though lol. Dude tried to stick to guns but there was no recovering. RIP Clap Guy...
Ed had him stop because he was switching it up and the beat was wrong.
Hahahahahaha
Legend has it he's still clapping...
TVATodd HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA. clap guy. RIP
What I want to know is.. how did you know that guy died? And was it from the clap?
thought that was a rap at 0:53 haha
"you know obviously a lotta people,
can be bored and irritated,
standing around in a station,
counting the hours they have waited...
For the train to come,
to get them out of this place,
ready for a new start,
i hope its not a waste..."
Well the black guy is actually a rapper called mikill pane I think. he is quite dope
and they have made a song together
Well fuckin spotted mate
damn... :'v i didnt notice than.. but thanks for enlightening me :")
Thought the same!
He's just always been a huge entertainer. I am beyond happy he got a big career so everybody can enjoy his music worldwide now :)
He had no idea he was gonna be number 1 on Spotify
What is Spotify
does anyone know the name of the guy that was clapping? he was so good
Hahahahaha

Russell Redmond HAHA
Russell Redmond looooooool
Russell Redmond : I think he was the drummer from The Easybeats-Friday On My Mind.
absolutely hate it when people can't clap on the right tempo, just don't clap!
Juan Aguirre lol
Not quite my tempo....
On behalf of my fellow rhythm deaf people we don't realize it until people look at us weirdly and we realize noone else is clapping, ok!
1:48 imediatly recognized it... let it out, such a good song, ive loved him since the beginning
He’s the real deal. Bringing people together regardless of who they are and where they’re from.
Im the same age as this guy and grew up in Suffolk. Pretty cool to see this guy succeed
i started hating that random guy that started clapping. i hate when people cant clap on beat😩
Dyantha Atwood
Dyantha Atwood not their fault
They're not musicians
So it's probably hard for them to clap on beat
he was on the beat though
DigitalToysOfficial yes, but he was on the wrong beat
Dyantha Atwood I thought it sounded really good when he started clapping
Every time I see Ed singing it makes me happy and he always looks like he was born to do this..it shines through his music.
He's just so good with audience not shy at all 💙
When he told them to stop clapping I just about died of laughter
The Black Hamme
When?
I must have missed that part? When?
Little bit late but it's at 4:34 :)

Those people watching him before he was famous are so lucky
It's like getting a free Ed Sheeran concert ticket
I LOVE HIM SO SO SO MUCH ❤️ He’s so humble and he deserves everything that he got 🥺❤️
Man it is so amazing how far he has come. He deserves every little thing. So talented and so cute!
Nothing replaces passion for what you love .. This man proves it , as did so many others .. let this be a lesson to the youth of today ..GO FOR IT and get it .. its not free you need to earn it
Both Ed Sheeran and Glen Hansard are my two favorite artists because they are both artists that started off performing for peoplevon the streets and ended up becoming incredibly famous artists through they're pure, raw talent. Their stories are so similar in different ways and it makes me think that they are somehow connected.
I’ve watched this so many times and every time I get chills.
Nice job Ed. Don't forget who you were and where you came from. Love the music
From Street performing to Mega Star. He made it. Congratulation!
I'm definitely thankful for Ed. He adds a lot of authenticity to the pop world
I did not know this chap was homeless for 2 years.
I'm not fond of his commercial music at all, but you know what, my respect for him has gone through the roof for what he has achieved from that hard time. Remarkable chap.
Amazing thing is that fame didn't change him, that is what I love about him 💜
We all have a gift to share with this world and it's our duty to do so. Good on you Ed. Love the vibes and muaic always.
I just loved his songs... especially perfect... awesome
must be crazy to have seen him back then and now know what he has become and what a successful dude he is now :) amazing ! Respect and good luck to Ed. His music goes straight through your mind and to your heart. Such a talented, young and charismatic man :)
I feel like this must be something he really wishes he could still do. just go into a station and gather a small crowd that can just enjoy his music silently without really knowing who he is. Now he can barely leave his house without getting bum rushed by people
Tristan Ludwig not true. just because hes famous doesnt mean hes gonna get swarmed by everyone the second he goes outside
Tristan Ludwig Wasn't it his own choice to become an artist? What did you expect ? No one is gonna fangirl when they see him randomly on the streets? But you're kinda right too, it's not always that simple. Iv'e seen CZcams video's of Ed Sheeran live and the crowd just doesn't shut up while Ed tries playing a song without screams and claps through the song which make it sound terrible. It's so cute seeing him trying to say shut the fuck up but in a friendly way and sadly no one listens. ❤💕
Like the Beatles after they hit the big time and their lives were never their own again.
Bum rushed? I'M not gayyyyyy
I wish I was there because I'm a fan of Ed's rap music, a fan of Ed's hip hop music, his soul music, his folk music and a fan of his ballads. Ilove him more than words can say. He keeps inspiring me.
He's a home grown Indie Artist at heart ... Im very happy for him that he's come along ways but hasn't changed in which he remains humble and grateful
Ed is very gifted and talented and makes really good music you can tell he was going to be a big Star before he got signed to a big label,,,he can go anywhere and brighten up anybody day no matter what mood they are in,,,Very talented keep up the great work
There's always that one awkward guy who starts to clap on his own and out of time.
Streets are the places where legends are made!!!
Talent can't remain invisible, that's why you are where you are ... Thanks for enjoying people with your music
