    I've seen 11cm 13cm 16cm 19cm and 22cm hx52 exhaust housing there's two 11cm on ebay right now, there's a guy in California that sells the 13cm wastegated hx52 65/70/13 he said it was a great towing turbo

    You really have no idea bud, they go 11,16,19,22,25 cm.
    You can also go up 80mm turbine wheel and comp wheel, you rattle on about inducer size but no mention of base circle.
    Again stop giving crap info, have run 52 series on 4 cyl street cars and 55 series....you have no idea.

    I am pretty sure i saw 11cm T4 HX52 in some 4 cyl. drag builds and also some Benz diesel guys are running them on OM606/OM603 6 cyl. diesels with better results compared to HX35 12cm. Is this version anygood ? I am planning to run HX40 Super 14cm on my car in the future tho as it is a very good tried-and-true unit. My car is also an 6 cyl. diesel and the power goal will be at 450-500bhp.

  • @Tonka_6.7
    @Tonka_6.7 Před 2 lety +2

    The hx40 can’t handle the abuse the hx52 can handle we were banging a 60 psi gauge with the hx52 it wanted to keep going while the hx 40 barely hit 40 psi 😂😂 on a heavily modified 12v by the way so I would not compare the hx40 to the 52 in the performance realm at all a mildly modded 12v or 24v yes an hx40 is perfect but heavily modified an hx52 is perfect

    I have a bone stock 95 12 with just a tork tek ofv, 100 fuel plate, and afc tuning and I’m thinking about upgrading to a 60/62 hx40. Do you think I should do it?

    I have an 8+8 72mm x109 compressor and 7+7 73mm x 102 compressor with the stock 70x84 turbine. Both 11cm and 16cm hotside
    Then I got bored and did the T51r mod to fit a gtx style 11blade 80x109mm compressor wheel attached to a 80x86mm turbine . No clue on if they are streetable or will make record power but they physically fit that size of wheels in them in the Volvo compressor cover.

    What about a hx40 60/62/14? Is that overrated too?

  • @evil_me
    @evil_me Před 3 lety +5

    Inducer size matters less to flow in the higher pressure ratios than exducer. So without stating the inducer, exducer and compressor flow rate its pointless. The HX52 is a stupid choice for a small petrol engine yes unless you are high powered drag only. But the HX52 is tiny compared to my S400 75mm / S500 94mm compounds 🤣

      hx52 is mid frame. S300 comparable. He551/Hx60 would be s400 size.

    I think all the entire line up is over rated. It's because you can pick them up cheaply back in 2008 - 2014 is why they were popular. People were getting them for 100-300 dollars and would make the hp of the $1000 turbos.... never saw any run the same kind of time back then though.

      All depends what engine and if it's built or not. But for single turbos hx35,hx40,gt30,gt35 sized turbos.

      You need to calculate the horsepower range you are trying to run in and the boost pressure first. Look at compressor maps for the desired flow at the pressure ratio you need. There are online calculators to determine pressure ratio and flow. A 3L engine can run anything from a gt25 for low low boost like a Volvo or Saab did up to a 100mm gt55 on a drag engine. You just need to go do the math and look at compressor maps 😉
