what type of anxiety specifically if i may ask?
@@haSHAH1 it’s been helping me more with my physical symptoms such as racing heart, sweaty palms, extreme blushing. i didn’t realize how much my physical symptoms kick start the rest of my worrying. but i’ve had less racing thoughts, less obsessive thinking. it’s also helped with my ADD. i can slow down and think one thought at a time for once which has been helping with my impulsive urges. the only complaint i have is tht my social anxiety seems to be the same but i think tht just takes breaking outta my shell.

Best medicine in the world to me. I’ve always had uncontrollable shaking, benign tremor, my whole life. Not because of nervousness, just discomfort. It was ruining my life cause everyone thought I was scared of everything. I went to the doctor at about age 22ish and he wrote it for me and my life is a million times better now.

Hi Andrew, Is there any way that I contact you. My daughter has also diagnosed ET and has prescribed same medication.
I have never seen someone speak “you can die very quickly” so comfortably 😂
I have terrible social anxiety, with hand tremors, and not wanting to leave my house. If I take 10 mg. I can get out to get my groceries.
Some days I wake up and feel shaky all over. It’s a horrible feeling plus my hands shake really bad. Taking 10 mg. In the morning and 10 at night helps me function and not be so ashamed of myself.
I have the same dose as you and I absolutely share your thoughts on this. For us the drug is definitely beneficial ❤️

Very informative. Only vid I watched all the way through on this matter.
Great job Doc. Nice clear useful information with excellent delivery. Thank you for this piece.
I have suffered from labile blood pressure for years. My regular BP is good about 120/70, then for no obvious reason it can go up extremely high. I am not an anxious person but it's a worry when this happens. Finally my Cardio recently suggested I try a very small beta-blocker dose - 12.5mg - when this happens - then, 15 minutes later a further 12.5mg. It worked like a dream.
Just started it. It does make me dizzy. First week. God bless everyone.

God is myth. If he were real, you wouldn't be on the internet asking strangers for their prayers. You are your
lord and master. You can itemize your issues, research ideas for making things better, and then do those things.
If you have access to CZcams, you have access to internet research tools. There are so many ideas for calming, dealing with anxiety, being able to sleep, etc. Maybe you'll end up with a different version of things you used to do. No big deal. If you nap instead of straight sleep, it's still rest. teeth and gums. Brush well and regularly and get a good mouthwash. One with chlorhexedine will help to clear and heal gums. It is prescription only. Meanwhile, get
a no-alcohol antiseptic mouthwash. Swish at least 30 seconds. After eating, if you can't brush right away, drink water, swish and swallow. Do this a few times to rinse food from your teeth and gums. There are solutions.
However, reliance on a non-existent super being will not do it. This is YOU. And, YOU CAN DO IT.

Very helpful. I wish more Doctors would break down meditations that we are prescribed and let the patient make an informed decision. I chose NOT to take this medication a few years ago, prescribed after ONE episode to the hospital. I am only now learning about beta blockers and heart medication. Best decision for me was to be leery. Life or death prescriptions I would consider more serious BUT, I would still investigate. That’s who I am. The investigator. 😂
It's been helpful with drug withdrawal symptoms..
Just started 3 dyas ago with this Pill, I have a GAD syndrome developed tru my birth control pills, I have had a terrible pannic attacks that made me feel like its my end of life. @Light4you I tried them for the first time yesterday. I did feel calmer and less panicky and with no side effect. This is the first time I've been prescribed something for anxiety so I can not compare them to anything but so far so good.
@Light4you Hey, basically I had to start taking them because my anxiety got out of control. For the long term I definitely want to stop taking them but that means I need to first work though my anxiety which will take time. Don't worry about taking them if they have been really working for you, but try using other natural techniques to calm your anxiety and if those don't work then take them. That's what I did and its helped a lot. If you have any other qs feel free to ask. Good luck!
@Light4you My first dose was 40mg which worked really well so yeah start small. I haven't had any side effects so far, and ive gone all the way up to 120mg before so dw. Sleep well and good luck!
Has anyone had any allergic reactions such as a dry itchy red rash? It is on the side effects list and suggests going to hospital. What is the reason behind that?
I am pretty familiar with propranolol. It was prescribed to me a few years back. I am no longer taking it. Quick story: I discovered palpitations around 2006. They came out of nowhere after I had my very first and a really massive panic attack. It was like nothing that I had ever experienced in my whole life. ‘Doom’ doesn’t even come close to describing what I felt. From there, I regularly experienced rapid heart beats and even fluttering of the heart. Sometimes it would feel like my chest was caving in on me. The journey was extremely long, hard, and lonely. And I’ve had more ECG’s, echos and chest X-rays performed on me than I can even count, and I’m a finance professional. Today, once in a while I get rapid heart beats and fluttering. So, I can empathize with anyone who may be experiencing it, and I’m so, so sorry. Hopefully, you have family to help you cope and heal while you receive treatment and advice from a doctor. Unfortunately for me, my family was not supportive, but then again, they never were. Take care and please be well! ❤️
Wow I had to stop reading half way I’ve had so many X rays went to different hospitals blood tests checked everything I was gonna go as far as mri and ct scan lol man I’m taking this now 20mg I really hope it works I started today 30 mins ago I hope and pray everyone a good health and happy life. Hey doc!
A couple questions before starting:
1. Can this help with panic attacks? For example: I have a panic attacks when driving. My doctor recommended taking this before driving.
2. I have mild asthma. Use my inhaler maybe 3 times a week. Can I still use Ventolin while on this medication?
3. If my WBC is on the lower end of the normal spectrum, could this drop it under the normal range? I noticed you mentioned it effects blood count.

He can't really answer this for q few reasons.
1. He is not your personal doctor.
2. He does not know your full medical history and so cannot ethically recommend specific choices for you.
3. He did not prescribe the medication and so knows nothing about your dose, treatment protocol, etc.
This video is just general information. He does day several times to work with your doctor on it. And I would say the same. If you do seek out and get a prescription for it, I hope it helps you. All the best.

Is propanol helpful for tremor??
Dear Erik, I have been using Propranolol in low dosage (10-20mg) to help with performance anxiety (spiking heart rate and weak voice) when doing big presentations or interviews. I use it very sparingly, perhaps once every couple months or less, depending on what's happening in life. My question - should I be using it, or should I be working through that anxiety as it seems natural for most people? What causes anxiety for me is the increased heart rate, so preventing that allows me to perform at my best and reach my full potential - BUT I don't want to be totally reliant on it and would rather not need it. I am working on this, but it requires deep internal work.
I get not wanting to take something. Taking it that infrequent though is not going to cause you any problems. Keep working on it but don't feel bad if you need to take it.

Is this a side effect that I should be concerned about? The packaging did say to contact Dr immediately if swelling was a side effect, but since it's Sunday I'd have to do the ER. You should probably go to the ER to make sure it's nothing serious. If you really don't wanna do that then probably stop taking the medicine immediately since it's just your first dose. Your doctor will probably prescribe a different medicine that's more suitable.

When tapering what is the best way as far as cutting back percentage per week in other words chop it in half for a week or a take a quarter dose what do you recommend over a month to get off of it I'm on a relatively small dose anyway
hey i have the same question! if you got to know about it do let me know! I take 10mg daily and I don’t suddenly want to stop.
Half your dose each week until clear.... you might feel a bit crappy but DONT deviate.... half the dose and you will be 100% safe.
It helps me a lot, i have hyperthyroidism and my heart is palpitating weird, i think it skips a beat or like there's a beat that stronger. Even im in propranolol it happens to me, but it did pretty well compare when im still not in meds. I want to ask if its normal to still have this little palpitations even if im taking propranolol
Did you finish your hyperthyroidism medication? Did the symptomps subside?
Yesterday I took 10mg and after that I felt dizzy. It caused insomnia too. I could not sleep all night. Whenever I tried to sleep Idk I felt something very uncomfortable in my head🥲. Btw my blood pressure is always low! I think that's why I feel so 🥺
It might have reduced your bp.
Check with your bp machine at such instances.
You may try low doses like 5 mg,but still check your bp before and after taking this medicine
I cannot watch or thought hearing vehicle sound. How to get rid
My doctor told me this drug would not cause any side effects at all. I’ve been on 60 mg ER propranolol for a year and half for migraines, and I feel like my doctor should have mentioned this. I’ve been thinking some of theses side effects were my own bodily problems and I’ve been v confused.
I have been on three months now for high bp and migraines. I have not liked the side effects, especially near constant leg cramps. My migraines did seem to ease up some but I still had six during this period. I am stopping them. I don't have any underlying heart issues so with the 60mgER I don't really see a good way to taper so I am just stopping but will monitor my bp and heart rate in the meantime and take one if things go sideways
@@SFCISME what ended up happening? Did you feel ok after stopping it?
@@hopesands2381 well the doc instead prescribed me the 20mg pills. I usually split them in half and do one in the morning and one around noon. I have not had a migraine all winter. Blood pressure is still relatively high this way however. That said I am not cramped up at night like I was the 60mg.
@The Ministry of Truth KMK I never completely stopped. Just way lower dose. I would think weaning off of only 20mg should be pretty easy tho now. I still have not had a migraine since November or December
@@SFCISME how are your migraines since this last comment?
I was prescribed 20mg for high blood pressure starting. Is this going to help?
Has anyone taken this for sleep? I am currently a federal agent and have seen some situations that have disturbed me. I'm having sleep panic attacks and wake up gasping and heart racing like crazy. It isn't sleep apnea. Have been on trazadone, prazosin (ptsd) and Seroquel at night for sleep.. but nothing is helping..would this help to put a person to sleep due to the slow heart rate? Thank you. Take care. Stay safe.
It gave me insomnia !!! I’m on it for Tremers & Shaking since I had COVID in July…I have a lot of long COVID symptoms & I’m a sleeper but I was only able to sleep for about 2 to 3hrs on this…But we all react differently to drugs cause our bodies r all different…Best of luck to u, my Heart goes out to u, will say prayers 🙏❤️🩹🇺🇸
I took 10 mg once and it ramped my anxiety badly. I don't know why. 4 days later I still feel like garbage. Ugh.
i have terrible anxiety and the WORST physical symptoms but i get so nervous about taking new meds 🥴
plus i worry about my heart a lot and i don’t want it to stop my heart since it does cause low blood pressure and a lower heart rate 😞
It's a beta blocker lol. You will be fine. Trust me. I suffered from shit like this for years
Literally me. My anxiety is friggin awful. I have GAD and social anxiety, and I’ve coped for so long with it but now that I’m in school and have presentations it’s gotten so much worse. And a huge trigger for my anxiety is health related, especially my heart. I’m so scared to try new medications because I’ve seen my mom have bad reactions and almost die.
Anyway, my dr prescribed me propranolol and I have yet to try it for a presentation because I’m so scared I’m gonna have a reaction lmao. Such a vicious cycle!!!
@@korrine888 I would definitely give them a go, maybe start off on a low dose. I have used them in the past and they have worked for my physical symptoms and I’m going to be using them again. I never wanted to have to rely on medication for my anxiety but when it hits me hard I struggle so I will try whatever it takes to feel myself. I hope you find the help you need ❤️
@@shelbyboury3874 it won’t stop your heart. I was a cardiac nurse for years. It could make it go too slow or drop your blood pressure...but that’s why they start you on a low dose.
Secondly, your worry and anxiety are more dangerous to your health, than most of what you worry about. Isn’t that ironic. You create more havoc with worry than the things you worry about.
My heart goes out to you, because I’m a reformed worrier. I still worry, but not like I did.
This is not meant to be cliche...mindfulness is one of the most powerful tools. It helps you to use your mind to control your thoughts vs your thoughts controlling you. Big difference.
Often, healing from core wounds, subconscious programming (often develop in childhood) can help reset the autopilot internal dialogue, that creates a gerbil wheel of “what ifs” and the anxiety provoking things.
Deep breathing is so, so, so important. People downplay it sometimes, but the top doctors and psychologists, counselors, know its power. With some deep breathing exercises I was able to get a lady to calm down, who was starting to have a panic attack about a shot I needed to give her in her stomach.
It calmed her down and she asked “why has no one ever taught that to me?”
She didn’t even feel the shot.
The right deep breathing helps to activate your parasympathetic nervous system, the chill side, the opposite of the fight/flight/freeze (the sympathetic nervous system). Both can’t be activated at once. So, if you trick the calm side to be “on”, the anxious side mellows out.
That’s why yoga can help too. The breathing is what gets the brain to calm, to be in a mindful space. Yoga with Adrienne, was recommended by my DO, and she is awesome. Free incredible yoga on CZcams! It’s helped me too.
Also, The Personal Development School, CZcams channel, has helped me so much. I’ve done a lot of healing of my fearful avoidant attachment style. I’m way less anxious, as I’ve changed the thinking patterns that triggered the anxiety.
Check out her video on anxiety for starters.
I had a period of 1-2 weeks of complete peace, no fear, no anxiety, after watching her videos and listening to Eckhart Tolle.
That powerful.
You deserve that. Staying in the trap of worry and anxiety is a prison. I promise you can free yourself.
Sending light and love 💫
