My first bike was a new 84 Suzuki RM 80, the classic yellow and blue. Such a great time to be a kid. This Yamaha looks like it's been kept behind glass its whole life. One word, WOW! I can't get over the bikes that you guys find. Its sounds just like my RM did. Just hearing it gets my blood going and brings a smile to my face. So long ago, but yet fresh in my mind.

In hindsight, I'm glad the tire was almost bald when I first rode it. Had it been able the put its power to the ground, I most likely would have hurt myself in the beginning. The increase in power and overall performance was light years ahead of my first bike.

I bought it from a boy who raced expert, and they clocked him at 80 mph riding a wheelie across the finish line, it was bored out twice! I even raced a RM 125 and beat it! I was about 13 years old when I had that bike in 1983. Also, a couple years back I was looking on eBay, and I swear to God there was a gem 1982 YZ80 for I believe was either $900 or $1,200, I can't really remember, but it was in Immaculate condition, I would have bought it if I had the money, I was devastated, because I would have loved to have that bike again, it would have brought back so many good memories from riding that bike! 😢 Oh, I forgot to say that the one I seen on eBay was spotless just like this one!

Very hard to find any 80 in that condition! The KX is hardest to get, like to find a rarest of rare KTM80MX 86/91.

Had one with the handlebar radiator. Thing was a bulletproof rocket. Had great suspension and would climb any hill as long as you stayed on the pipe. Should have kept it.
