The valley of Masca is located at the municipality of Buenavista del Norte, in Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands.
This beautiful village is at 650 meters high above sea level in the heart of the Mountains of Teno in the northwest side of the island of Tenerife.
If you follow the famous ravine of Masca you reach the sea, where, if you wish you can have a beautiful refreshing swim.
Masca is also known as the Machu Picchu of the Canaries.
The Guanches, the original inhabitants of the island, lived in the deep caves of the ravines.
We drove to Masca from Santiago del Teide driving on a very narrow and winding road
up tho the hill and then down to the valley .
The views of the valley of Masca are stunning with epic peaks, gorges, ravines, many canarian palm trees and typical canarian houses.
This is a “must go” place to visit for photographers, hiking, or just sit down at the top of the hill and look at the landscapes or maybe have a delicious meal.
