  • Roland. Roland. Roland on a river. My first lunges into the MIDI guitar universe.
As soon as I found out that any guitar could be transformed into a MIDI guitar, I jumped at the opportunity to snag the hardware on eBay. I was not let down one bit.
I went with the GI-10 for two reasons: 1. Aesthetics. 2. It has a mic input! It's great fun to sing into it only to have your voice come back at you as some instrument.
There are still so many things I haven't tried yet with this equipment, but every experiment thus far has given me giggles.
Since all this equipment is from the 90's or earlier, I bounced the video to VHS and back. It seemed appropriate.
The last voice was not from the MT-100. It was from the Yamaha PSR-220.

wow never seen midi-pickup installed onto Danelectro lol
Look, I have GI-10 as well, just got it recently, do you know if it can change tuning? Say I want a Drop D, or Open C without actual guitar tuning. I know Roland synths can do it, but can this device?
    P.S. Like your "90`s" look

It's actually a shitty 60's Airline Bighorn, not a Danelectro, but whatever. It should work just fine with whatever tuning. It just quantizes notes to the 440 (or 442 with a switch) 12-note scale, so any tuning will work. It even supports bends if the MIDI device you go to supports them. Glad you got a kick out of this video.

umm that`s not what I meant. If my guitar is in standard tuning and I`m not goona change it, can I set GI-10 to send different notes, like IF my guitar was in a different tuning? Well, cool-looking guitar anyway. I use a Strat for midi-pickup

@@insertanynameyouwant5311 Oh, gotcha. In that case, I'm not sure. I kinda think not, but I haven't explored it that much. That would be a cool feature though.

Anyone know how to make the 80s wwII sound on a modern synth?

Can I use Roland GI-10 in Cubase with VST?

Not directly. The GI-10 doesn't connect to a computer. You can however plug either the MIDI output or the audio output into an audio interface which Cubase could communicate with.
