I'm 5'9, really good looking and a Physician...I never have had aa problem and I have dated girls up to 6ft. If your handsome and got money.... your good.
Tom Holland is also 5'7" but I don't think he isn't being unpopular among girls because of his height. It's certain that height is not the most important factor which can make you attractive haha.
Some of these "shorter" Hollywood actors might have been told by their manager/agency to exaggerate their height a little bit on paper. The same can be seen with K-Pop artists who look tall on agency published stats, but appear shorter in person when they perform on stage.

For how short the rest of the world perceives Japan to be, when I visited them earlier this year, they were surprisingly “normal” height.

@@cooliipie Same in Spain. The younger people were tall AF but the older people were average. I find it odd, though, I always thought I ate well but here I'm at the bare mininum at 1,76/5'9" being invisible to women worldwide. Very sad.

Ate well, but how about the amount of protein? I currently live in Asia and they eat such little protein compared to the US where I'm from. And calcium, the milk in Asia is the one cooked at high temp which kills all the nutrition

It is likewise, also with me as a guy who likes a girl who is shorter than me and not taller. A girl at 5 feet (152cm) and shorter is okay. But for me, it is all about the pretty and cute face and nice personality.

We all have our own preferences. Some just follow the crowd...
They all say that, but look at their dating history and you'll see a different story.
few easy women arent equal to all. and it is a cultural thing in east asia to not express themselves wildly in order to not embarrass their families. all the interviews here are already edited and interviewers kinds of tamed themselves aka lying to keep their public image.

As someone that's been to Japan for the first time in my life a few months ago and still have been living in currently, I was so impressed with the culture and how there doesn't seem to be a sense of superficiality (ex. women don't carry luxury brand bags, people expressing fashion sense through various quirky styles and not caring what other people think). As a short guy myself, I was particularly impressed by seeing so many couples whereby the short guy is shorter than the girl, or a guy below 5'3 being confident and having a girlfriend. Observing this, it just made me love this country even more. So before clicking onto this video, I was a bit anxious that my positive perception of Japan could have potentially just been a delusion and that I would be proven wrong in my assumption. But upon watching this video and see the sample of surveys that were made, it just reconfirmed my belief in the notion that Japan is truly an amazing country with minimal judgement relative to other countries. Also as a person of Korean ethnicity, I've been shamed so much for my height and felt like I wasn't enough. Koreans glorify height as if it's the end all be all. So, it is so nice to see that Japan is night and day compared to Korea when it comes to this topic and I hope this channel and the people of Japan continue to empower people of all sizes and continue to be the amazing country that it is. I sincerely hope media and shows like kdramas, etc. doesn't influence and change the wholesome perspectives of the Japanese.
PS. I also really love how the interviewer doesn't discriminate against the girls being shorter in height and says that they are cute. Just such an amazing culture.

Looks like they edited out most of the negative answers for some reason. It seems too rare that only one girl cared about height.
I'm 165cm living in Japan and from my experience, I can say that it's gonna be hard to get a date from a party or club night.
They don't really care about height because they care more about looks. They'd rather date a short イケメン than a tall フツメン。Also, did the interviewer forget to talk about her previous boyfriend's heights and what her ideal is?

It's rare but it's nothing too crazy. Especially if you go somewhere like tokyo, you'll see tall people here and there and most people won't spare a second glance usually. Maybe if you're 2m+ then you might get some stares from people.
I'd say the thing about japan is most people are relatively average in height. But you'll see a lot more very short people compared to the US. And you'll also see some taller people but it's rarer. But overall, there's still enough people in all groups in major cities like Tokyo that it's pretty normalized. So you wont have to worry about being looked at as a "freak".

there are many couples here in Japan where the men are shorter than the gf. tall play a big role but japanese women doesnt depend in height only. msot of them go for looks and money.

The main takeaway from the interview is that 170 cm is kind of the entry barrier. If you're shorter, you might need to work harder to succeed. Go luck lads

I’m 183cm but Korean men are not tall either when I visited there. Not that different from here. Also I noticed that Korean people have uglier face

Japanese women don't really focus on height as much as women from Korea or China. Korean and Chinese women are quite picky about it. In Japan, women tend to want men who are at-least ~170-175 cm in height at a minimum whilst in Korea and China, they want a man who is at-least ~180-185 cm at a minimum.

Well chinese women can choose, after all communists killed their competitors..so they can be picky until they hit the Wall (of Age, not China).
But women are going to ridiculous demands everywhere, considering asians aren't as tall as europeans...that makes it even more ridiculous.
No, in Korea and China, more prefer 180-185cm since it's ideal but it doesn't mean they NEED it as a minimum. The average height of both China and Korea is well below 185cm so that automatically disqualifies like 80% of the men according to that logic.

There's this concept called 'relative height'.
what about from the man's point-of-view. I would not want to date a woman much shorter than me, feels like I'm hanging around with a kid. I'd much rather date someone around my same height which automatically excludes many Japanese women.

My guy, 175cm is considered tall for a women in most countries around the world. And this is Japan we're talking about. The number of chicks that are 175cm+ is pretty rare lol. The average height for Japanese women is 158cm so 175cm+ would be in the top 0.1%ile of Japanese women.

All of them SAY they would date guys who are maybe a little taller than them, but their actions show, they all said the actually dated tall guys for the most part. From this we can see very clearly that these woman want tall guys in general and will date them (sleep around) to get them. On the flip side of the argument woman can't condemn men for wanting slim woman when all these woman want tall guys.
Japanese people will always tell you the politically correct answer even though they might feel different in reality.
What people say and what people do are often different. The most beautiful woman (who is ~167 cm) in my graduating university year married a guy who is ~151 cm. Most women don't give a shit about a guy's height if they make her feel good. Getting in the door may be more challenging than a taller person, but the door is almost never bolted shut. Short men who can't get women and blame women wrongly think it's their height instead of their incel, manosphere beliefs and attitudes. Short men have always existed throughout history and have always gotten women.
@@laptopstudy3279 women here in Japan like face before height. in host club for example many top ranking host are not even 175cm but they rank high cause of their face and charisma so we can theat fortunately many japanese men can compensate their short height with their faces. unlike in west where they need height cause their apperances screams abomination especially in america
