  • FUSE BOX WHICH IS CALLED THE JUNCTION BOX JUST BELOW THE GLOVE BOX PASSENGER COMPARTMENT.
I had AC blower motor malfunction due to short circuit in AC blower motor resistor. I checked the connection to the resistor and did not find positive coming in so i just went through the circuit diagram and found that the Junction box contains hidden fuses which controls supply to many electronic modules.
I have also shown how to repair a blown FRM - Just connection went out.
Below video shows how to disassemble the Junction Box

As far as I understood you don't have to. I did not try but the board only has fuses and relays.
      The JBE has to programmed

I got a 2008 BMW 335i n54. I keep getting a code A731 for Junction box. My car starts and runs, but when I turn it off and start it again after 5 mins, the battery is dead and I have to jump it to start. Seems like my battery is being drained and I already replaced it. Could it be the fuse block? Or the JBE module underneath it. Please help thanks.

Try removing the Fuse F33, F61 5Amp fuse, If your car has comfort access assuming manufacturing date of your car is 2008.
F31,F32 if you have trailer module. F59 entertainment system. F74 instrument cluster.
      Let me know the results.
5mins battery drain is too high.

Hello sir..my bmw f80 will not start up, low voltage at the fuel pump, pump is tested on others M car and works fine, ekps is showing no codes, fuses are ok at rear power supply, ground is ok also..
What do you think is the problem.?

    • @bimmerhacks
      @bimmerhacks  Před 3 lety

Please give me a complete picture. Do you get any error code? Does the engine crank? Is any light missing in the instrument cluster? Did you check the IVM/ Power distribution box located in the engine bay?

      @@bimmerhacks thanks for your reply..
There are no codes in the fuel pump module, the power distribution box is in trunk area and all fuses are ok,
engine cranks but will not start because I’am getting no fuel feed from the pump..
Voltage at the fuse is 12v while cranking and voltage at the connector to fuel pump is .20v fluctuating to 1.5 volts..
I even tried running an independent ground to the grounding point on the body of the car but same result..
      I’am at a loss..

@@buildindian8169 OMG. No code at all? If any of the electrical system is fault there must be some kind of code poping up as far as my experience. Let me check the wiring diagram and will give you an update if I find anything. By the way usually there are 4 main power distribution box for BMW.
      -BATTERY PANEL(sealed)
      -REAR POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX
      -PASSENGER COMPARTMENT
      -ENGINE BAY (sealed one)
Please let me know what brought the car to this situation if you have any clue. There must be some relay which is not switching properly

@@bimmerhacks ok bro, thanks for your kind assistance..
Actually changed the fem because someone stole the keys of the car during the shipping process..the new fem is coded and all modules are working, all power supplies and junction boxes are in good order...new lithium battery that cost a small fortune 😄.
I was convinced the fuel pump was no good so I got a new unit..
I have ISTA, ESYS and icom but I’am actually a diy guy and not really a trained technician so I think there are somethings I do not understand fully such as reading schematic drawings and so on...

@@buildindian8169 looks like immobilizer issue due to new FEM. even if it coded might need to make the unit have a handshake with other modules like CAS and all. Hope you went through technical documents related to changing FEM. How did you code the new keys then?
