    Hi Izzy,
Your videos are very professional, and may I say, that the reason your apprentice is very good is because the way you are with him,
You make him very welcome, you make sure he knows you are approachable, as with anyone learning the job the apprenticces are only as good as the person educating them, I am a lecturer in healthcare and can tell you Izzy you are a first class top builder/teacher, you explain to him what you are doing, the reason why you are doing it, and giving him very positive feedback with mountains of support and education,
    Top builder Izzy 👍

@@IzzytheBricky Thank you for responding to my message Izzy, I watch other builders videos working with apprentices and the way they speak to them and their attitudes are disgraceful, but watching you connect with him was very refreshing, and you will not only deservedly earn his respect but he will bust a gut in return to be the best he can for you, and in turn you will reap the rewards, really enjoy watching your video's, whilst I am NHS you inspire me to go into the building trade to work for builders like yourself,

You asked the question, In some ways I think everyone should learn ( with a patient teacher) how to " master / correctly " laying a motor bed, purping bricks / blocks , laying level & plum first correctly !!
Master the correct method first regardless of speed ( hows the lad going to be fast if he's new it laying)
Like anything else in life practice mixed with a positive response & mentality is an unbeatable combination, speed will inevitably come.
( Trust me I've got life experience , & completed a bricklaying course I know it's not an easy skill to master )

On many sites right now in London you are required to take pictures of all the ties, dpc and insulation down to the minimal gaps and measurements, for example if the insulation of firestop isnt 5mm pressed against the brickwork you have to take it down.. its going crazy.
And if you do work for Crossrail or government its even crazier.. health and safety going mad
