Agreed, these little cars are so light compared to modern cars that saying having 300(w)hp is meh, but people always forget power to weight ratio.

And FWD config makes +300hp unuseful and hazardous....I think 300 is the max you can get out it without LSD and without making your vehicle dangerous.

I had b18 on 15 psi. Around the same power level and i can tell you is great power. If you ahve the right side turbo that it can make power from 3k to 7k you would love it. My advise is .48 trim turbo.
Not to mention how light these civics are. 300hp on such a light chassis is pretty damn fast
I got only 201hp and I feel like that’s more then enough to pass 90% of cars on highway

Probably the ones that say "300hp is not much" don't understand how car physics work and can enjoy their big ass SUVs or Trucks only with +500hp

@@SnoozeVert well can you blame them? You pay $30k only to have your V8 American muscle car beat by a tiny little Japanese 4cyl. I mean the hate shouldn't be excessive, but jealousy is expected. Honda doesn't design for raw power, they design their cars for quality and eifficiency. Proper power to weight ratio is a key part of designing an efficient and quality car. And while they're at it, they make their designs simple so you can get even more power if you put some parts into it.
This guy owns a sleeper, the only giveaway is the intercooler, but 300hp is pretty fast especially for a stock engine.
Plus civics are light so this thing is quick
You actually took your time with the install and correctly fitted and built the turbo kit, that's why. Too many people rush to put the turbo on and immediately go to 15+ psi and blow it apart before giving it a chance. There's no reason it should cause issues if you're running 11.5 psi and not driving like a crazy person lol.

You know, I remember seeing the original videos of you building this car when they first came out. To see it in the same condition and running amazing still after a year with eBay kit. It’s amazing to see how you build something with reliability. I’m looking at an 89 civic ef roller to build. This hopefully, God willing, be my first step into building my first car.

Dude this is a super impressive build! I built a custom turbo kit for b18 in highschool. Probably had 2-3k into it and I dynoed it at 170hp. I had a lot more problems than a few exhaust bolts backing out. I had a friend with a b17 swapped into an EG civic and that thing was insanely fast. Wheel spin in 4th gear is insane!!!

This proves that if you seriously know what you're doing, the Ebay turbo kit can work. A thousand things can go wrong so you really gotta be skilled.

Duuude you did it right tho, Im glad you documented and showed everything you did to show people all that it takes, its not just install the kit and done, there is a lot of other work involved to get it to daily status. The tuning is everything. I bet a lot of people who didn't like the results didn't go all in with what it takes.
Great build! Agree on the hp issue, too! I see a lot of oscilation on bumps, maybe it needs some suspension work? Bushings maybe or...

Not a crazy complex motor swap, but maybe a simple Honda motor swap? Same motor to motor swap but show the steps you take in removing them! I'm running the same turbo kit on my 02 ep3, I've had it on there for about 6 months, it's still going strong. It's making 260whp on 10lbs of boost.
