- If you try to dyno a modern BMW with an automatic transmission, specifically the ZF8, it will try to downshift when you floor it on a dyno. (even in sport+ with transmission in 'S') To get around this annoyance, you can enter a hidden menu and put the car into roller dyno mode. This fixes the downshifting issue so you can properly dyno the car.

Thank you...been helpful. I have a late 2013 435i with loads of mods and I have always had a a problem with my car on the dyno. The only difference I found on my car is, when in the menu to activate roller mode, the traction control button needs to be held in for 2 seconds and "traction" pops up, release and press & hold again for 2 seconds and only then does it activate "DSC OFF" and then you confirm with the trip-odometer button
Quick question if I have any codes on the dash would that cause the car to not go in dyno mode my code is (emergency call malfunction) which is permanent and won’t clear when you click the bottom you stated to click in your video
Roller mean so easy drift ?
hello from Germany... but it will also go in English
Is it on the dyno only a RWD?
Was on the dyno today and unfortunately this didn't work for my 2019 M240i xdrive. We tried for an hour to get the thing into roller mode but DSC kept turning on during pulls which freaked the car out. Any ideas?
I think you didn't hold the button long enough. Clicking on traction control button once will turn off DSC and turn on DTC. If you want completely disable both you need to hold it until the DSC off appears on the dash.
@@suljopro Yeah I did that many times and confirmed DSC was off. I think the issue was because the AWD dyno we used was UNLINKED which the idiot who owns the shop didn't mention could cause the problems we were having on the dyno.
