In my opinion, it's not just about having ANY side hustle, but more importantly:
1. Considering where your talents and passions intersect;
2. Evaluating the earning potential of the proposed service(s) once you have considered how much time you're willing to invest in it;
3. Picking the one that gives you the most earning potential for the least amount of time and energy spent.
I’m 37 and have owned my electrical business since I was 26…side hustle before then..I make in 1 day, usually not even a full day-of what I would make working full time with 6 hours overtime at any electrical contractors company.
I gotta just say that this is the first channel someone asked me to like a video and I have no resistance whatsoever. I “do the thing” each time!😂

I guess I naturally didn't want to give my life to someone else. I got a job with benefits and worked at night. Slept during the day when my kids were in school.
Took books to work and studied. Got paid to be there for intense periods of work with downtime.
There is always a way to inch towards your dreams, doing anything towards it is better than doing nothing.
I've actually done this and was very successful and have alot of supplies. I make gemstone jewelry and put all I made back into supplies. but stopped when I had my daughter. I even lost everything in a fire, and somehow 80% of the supplies went undamaged.

Years ago I reduced my 8,5h job to 6h. It’s minus two hours but I won 6h. I learned I can be a super concetraded engineer for 6h, sleep for 15 minutes and have my batteries full for 6h of doing other stuff that I love. Once in a while I have Meetings or conferences I need to attend and after 8-9h I am that guy that wants pizza and Netflix 😅

There are some things I found set you up to handle this kind of thing better. Make a habit of taking a walking break at work like people take smoking breaks. If your boss has a problem with it, then rebuff him. Explain that you need walking to help you think, because walking literally will help you think, especially if you're not walking on paved surfaces. Your pelvis will be brought forward, which is important for being able to step sideways literally and figuratively. That if your walking can be more like dancing, so will your thinking be. This entire process sets you up to be able to handle yourself way better.
I think if you have a career then the best way to maximize your income would be to just focus on your career.
The vast majority of entrepreneurial endeavors don’t pan out.
If you want to increase your income once you’ve reached a ceiling in your career, then I think learning to live *way* below your means and learning everything you can about investing and then investing everything you can into the market will most likely give you both a better chance and a better outcome, with far less effort, than going the entrepreneurial route.

Yeah but maybe working more isn't the most fulfilling thing you can do. The choices don't have to be between watch tv or work more. What about working out? What about spending time with your children?
I have a question. I currently work in a machine shop that offers literally unlimited overtime. I work 65 hours per week. Now, is side hustle advice for people like me that need to sacrifice overtime hours to have time for this side hustle, or is this for people that work a 40 hour week? Cause I can just work more hours for more money at a 1.5X pay rate. (Currently $30/hr so $45/hr overtime)
1)you choose whether you want to give up more hours of your lufe to that company for that extra 15 an hour.
2) there are many side hustles that make more than 15 an hour or even 45 an hour and that are more time frirndly than being stuck at work
3) qnyone can have a side hustle regardless of hours. I know a dude that had a side hustle buying little debbie and twinkies and leaving itnat work and picked uo the money afterwards.
I actually want to do this. Like asap.
