  • In this timelapse video, I use Poor Mans Fiberglass (PMF) just on the bottom of my siding to seal where it will meet with the trailer frame. I have to do this on all four sides just on the bottom as the side and top will all be wrapped with another piece of canvas. Feel free to leave me a comment or question in the comments section and I'll do my best to answer them.

This appears to be more of a gasket where the linen is being used to give form to the PVA glue. I did like the time lapse as I more often than not watch videos like this in 2x on youtube.

That is probably a better way to describe it. Thanks for your comment!

hmmm, Tightbond 2 is water resistant, I am curious to see how this gasket will be used so we can determine if water resistance is sufficient or if the need for the extra waterproofing was in fact required.
I was unaware of the difference myself till you said something

yea, after watching the video again and doing research into the actual standards, in order to be deemed ANSI/HPVA Type 1 or ANSI/HPVA Type 2 they do different tests.
Type 2 is soaked in water for 4 hours then dried at 120F for 19 hours three times and must then show no delamination
Type 1 is soaked in Boiling water for 4 hours, dried at 145F for 20 hours, boiled for another 4 hours and tested as soon as it is cooled.
not sure either one pertains to how permeable of a membrane is made by the cured PVA

TB1 is indoor use. TB2 is water resistant, TB3 is waterproof. Based on my research of PMF, the consensus is to use TB2. I think I'll shoot a video on it at some point during my build talking about my understanding of the three and why I'm using TB2. Thanks for your comment(s).
